D o d g y - avoid! – I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and made a booking after reading all the fine print on their website thinking I knew what I was in for. What a mistake! The company branch details are hard to find on their website which should have been a warning sign. It states on google under their business listing they opperate to 11pm. And on… Read more

their website it says transfers are provided to their depot outside the Adelaide airport. But following booking I was told I have to get my own way there as my flight arrives after hours at 10pm. No where does it say their hours are only to 5pm (12 on the weekend). To add to my concern the managers emails are from '[name removed]'... no surname just [name removed].... hmm.

Sorry but this company seems very shonky and while I'm all for saving a dollar or two its just not worth it.

Totally Ripping Company – Easy to book online but lots of hidden costs involved. The customer service is so poor that the person behind the counter is unable to explain the extra costs involved. Took more than 30min to clear the costs as these were not disclosed at the time of booking. There is a huge difference between booking cost and what they charge from you at the time of delivery. Would never recommend.

Absolutely Ripping Site – Never ever book or buy anything from this site. We bought and paid for the insurance through their website. Once we reach to alpha they said you didn't buy insurance from us. You have to buy from us again. Or you pay us $3300 as a bond deposit. We have left no other option as their pickup point is far from the airport. Never ever think of buying from them.

Terrible Experience. Never Again – Launceston, Tasmania. Waited 30 minutes for a pick up after calling twice. Waited another 30 minutes for car to be prepared. Car was relatively old for a rental at 30k. Tried to sell me more insurance at counter. In the end, paid a 300 deposit, awaiting refund. Booked a Toyota Aurion or equivalent and ended up with a Holden Malibu which is a size… Read more

smaller. Usually you get upgraded and not downgraded for the price you paid but I am not letting this ruin my holiday yet.

Don't believe them! – I rented a car from Melbourne Car Rental by online. For the distance to travel, they have 2 options: $0.3 per km after the free ‘200 km per day’ limit, or $15- $20 for unlimited km travel per day, which is much cheaper if one travels around 800-1000 km per day. When I went to pick up the car, I offered them the charge for the unlimited km per… Read more

day. But at that time, they told me that they’ll charge that fee afterwards when I return the car.

At the time of return, they didn’t charge that fee & told me that they’ll call me before they finalise the bill.

But surprisingly they sent me the bill with the expensive option: $0.3 per km after the free ‘200 km per day’ limit. So, I was charged $373.2 for 1244 km overrunning! If they would have charged me with the cheaper option, it could be just $60-80 instead of the huge $373.2. They also charged me $45 for cleaning, although they didn’t complain anything about the cleaning when I returned the car.

When I called them to put my objection on the bill, they behaved very rudely with me. They’re now denying that they committed to charge me the lower fee with unlimited km per day after I return the car.

So guys, please don’t believe on their any verbal commitment. My experience is pathetic!

Worst rental car experience ever – Booked a car and received a confirmation email. Was told that a shuttle would be provided to take us to the depot from the airport. We arrived at 11 pm and there was no shuttle provided. Rang the rental company and they told us that we would have to take a taxi to their depot. $15 taxi ride later we arrived at the depot (which at this time of… Read more

night was just a car parking place). The guy behind the counter (who was admittedly a nice bloke who tried hard to sort it out) told us there was no car left for us. He tried to ring the car rental people but was unable to get through to anyone. So it's now midnight, we've wasted a taxi ride and have no car despite having a confirmation email. He assured us the manager would ring us the next day to reimburse our cab fare and deliver a car for us. Of course this call never came. It cost us a further $90 in cab fares that night to get to our accommodation and the inconvenience of not having a car all weekend despite needing one to get around. This company is a disgrace and it is a miracle they are still in business at all.

Don't use these guys !! – Usually use Alpha, unfortunately they were booked out so tried these guys. Although reasonably priced, we had to wait 15 mins at the airport, then was introduced to our 2005 Corolla..... no electric windows, no cruise, 180,000 km's on the clock and lots of rattles and things !!! more of a rent-a-bomb than anything else. Also poor communication,… Read more

and hard to get through to on the phone.Oh then expect $650 frozen on your credit card if you don't use there overpriced insurance.would not recommend ever. Go Alphacar rental. not much everything

Be carefull! – We did our reservation and received a confirmation number, with all the details as we asked, but 5 hours before to pick up the car, we found out everything was a lie. Picking up time was 4 hours later; not Unlimited Mileage as we were told. And the Care service department wasn't very helpful. We ended no getting a car for our trip and was too… Read more

late for reserve in other place. We suggest do not trust them as they a a third party. Go straight to the rental cars companies.

I thought these guys were pretty good – A friend of mine and i hired a car from these people last month when on holidays in Cairns. Yes the prices are low but beware that's because the car comes with a limit on kilometres - ours was 200km and you have to take out insurance. So all up it does work out a little bit more but the car we had was really good. Also they deliver the car to your… Read more

hotel, then you drive back with them to the hire place and do the necessary paperwork and you are on your way. Then when you return it, you pick them up from the hire place, they drop you back at the hotel and they take the car. good condition, friendly service, they deliver car to the hotel extra cost for insurance, limited kilometres

Terrible – IMHO, these people are dodgy operators. Don't be tempted by the low rates, and if you find that the fuel tank is anywhere below full, insist that they fill it! I hired from Cairns Airport Rentacars because I was attracted by their rates. The windscreen was dirty when we collected the car and the petrol tank wasn't full. I realise now that I should… Read more

have insisted that they fill it. I arranged to dropped the car at the airport ($30 collection fee). The fuel gauge showed the same amount in the tank as when I hired it, but I was charged an additional $30 for 'refuelling' and for 13.75 litres of petrol.

Terrible – spoke to the man on the phone to get help in hireing a car on the gold coast, he wasn't very helpfull, he told me to go to the internet site to hire a car, because he said it would be easy for me. He starded to say that all other car rentals are a ripoff, and we are the best because we are straight down the line. The way he spoke to me was very rude, i will not hire from them new cars not helpfull, rude
