This is the worst lawnmower ever!!! – Unless you are mowing a bowling green then forget about this mower The first bit of bump in your lawn it becomes hard to push, even when on the highest setting It has about 8 height settings but I have only ever been able to use the top two as the other are too low and prevent the mower moving forward. I sometimes have to put the height up so high… Read more

that it is above the top setting. The grass does not extract into the catcher easily and is constantly clogged. I no sooner had it and had to get the carburetor cleaned, despite the fact that it was clean petrol being used The mower for some reason is incredibly hard to push. I am forever having to put my foot on the back of the catcher and give it a shove Also, it does not cut very well. The blades are constantly digging in causing crop circles all over the lawn. Finally, all the above has been based on the situation where the grass is dry. It is way worse if the grass has any moisture in it I have persisted for a few years but am getting going to get a new mower

Very easy to use – Love electric start can't be without this any more, love self propel, 3 speeds are perfect, tons of power i have very deep pile grass and it cuts it easily, also easy to clean with hose attachment on deck. Show details

Well made and powerful – I bought the Ferrex mower sold by Aldi as I wanted the electric start feature and the mower seemed good value at $299. It starts easily, cuts well and is not too noisy. It feels surprisingly heavy, however, hard to push through my lawn. Not sure why this is so, as surely the few extra kilos of the 20v battery and starter motor should not make such… Read more

a big difference. It takes some muscling around on my Dwarf Kikuyu lawn. It also feels a bit long and bulky, compared to me old Masport mower.

Worth for the money – I bought one with self propelled some years ago but got refunded. It was very heavy and difficult to manuvore. This time the price came down a bit but I still hesitated a while after reading the bad comments. I eventually bought one as I need the battery charger for my power tools. Aldi removed the self propelled mechanism for this model. It is… Read more

still very heavy but not a problem to control it any more. Someone complained the catcher. I think he forgot to remove the mulch stopper which is not mentioned in the manual.

Let down – Self propelled stopped working after 3 months. Way too heavy to use without it and only useful when going in straight line on flat ground. Wheels spin when on uneven ground. Catcher doesn't collect the grass very well and clogs when half full. Returned for a full refund. Show details

Wheel fell off – Thought it looked easy to use with the electric start button. Very heavy to manoeuvre The wheels dig into grass. Then wheel fell off and doesn’t go back on. Took into their warranty place to get fixed but said there is no part for this. Rang the 1800 number again and after complaining they said to take back to Aldi for a refund. The design is very poor. Obviously the designers don’t read the reviews so they can change the design. Show details

Seems well built and strong... but way too heavy – Purchased few days ago from Aldi for only $299, was not too difficult to put together, but the assembly instructions did have some obmissions. My biggest complaint... the mower is way too heavy at over 40Kg, and very difficult to manoeuvre. Also, I expect a lever to control the speed, this unit does not have one, it runs at one speed only - no mention in the user's manual about that. Show details

Excellent so far – Bought it Saturday 1st of March & used it the same day. Everything seems good so far. It’s fairly quiet & excellent accessories. The electric start is great. Haven’t used the other accessories yet. Will give more feedback later. Show details

Not really suitable as a lawn mower – I purchased one of these mowers for $299 last year but I didn't manage to use it because of the terrible dry. The lawn just didn't grow. With the recent rain the grass greened up and started growing again. I have used it 3 times since and it is just unusable. The mower digs into the grass and its very hard to push. The electric/battery starter is… Read more

a bit of novelty and once the novelty runs out its just another way of starting the mower. The grass sticks under the mower as the gap between the mower and the catcher box is so small it gets blocks straight away. All the clippings just falls under the wheels which makes it even harder to push. I called Aldi and credit to them they told me to takes it back to the store and get a refund. The lady I spoke with knew the problem straight away. She said that it is because the mower is too heavy which makes it dig into the grass. They must have had a lot of complaints.

Not going to buy another Aldi lawn mower (or other motorised product) again. I wish I had a penny for every time I said that to myself

Aldi Raptor Mower – I purchased a Raptor mower and it's a lemon. The front of the mower continuously jams against the grass and if i raise the mower it barely cuts. Given that it comes with a 5 year warrantee has anyone returned it for a full refund given that the design is flawed and obviously not tested prior to release. Show details

I wish I had read these reviews before buying this – I wish I had read these reviews before paying money to buy this mower. Very heavy to push especially if the grass is a little too thick. The front wheels just get stuck in the grass and the mower wont move. Aldi have done a great job of making this lawn mover like the rest of their electrical equipment. Totally useless. I keep saying to myself… Read more

that I wont be buying another non-food product (especially electric ones) from Aldi but I forget every time I see the cheap stuff in the shelves. This lawn mower is junk.

Grass collects in entrance to catcher – Bought the 196cc unit on 2 March 2019. Not too difficult to put together. Used it for the first time on 24 March. First problem was the front wheels kept digging in making it almost impossible to push the unit forward so I had to raise the level by 2 notches to overcome this Then I noticed that the cut grass kept being left on the lawn and on… Read more

removing the catcher found that it was almost empty but the grass was all clogged in the entrance to the catcher. The opening from mower to catcher seems too small. Very poor design.

Had to keep lifting the rear flap and clearing the shute in order for the catcher to fill. A real pain. Also, every time you do this the engine shuts off as you have to release the throttle lever to use both hands to open the rear flap and clear the blockage. Thank you for the battery start.

Pull start was also very effective - took absolutely no effort at all.

The hose cleaning attachment that came with the unit does not seem to sit on the cleaning nipple. Had to hold it in place.

Will give it another go when the grass is dry before deciding if I take it back for a refund.

Give it a miss – I have been mowing my backyard for many years and my mower was getting tired so when I saw Aldi advertise this Mower I got it. Today I used it for the first time and it started well using the battery/starter as well as the recoil hand start. grass. The adjusting brace between the front and rear wheels were different so I checked the underneath and found everything in order except for the design is incorrect allowing the front wheels to dip. As a Motor Mechanic I can see the changes required.
