ALDI Gardenline Petrol Blower

Purchased a Ferrex 25.4cc petrol blower in August 2025 and four months later it still works like a dream. It's a bit noisy and the mixing bottle that came with it leaks like a sieve but for $99.99, it does what it is supposed to do, so no real complaints. Show details

Blows harder than a summer cyclone – Too many safety switches made it a nightmare to start. Removed the micro switches too the ignition coil. Rebuilt unit and its reliable and powerful, starts every time now. No good for those little ones who like puling things apart and putting fingers where they shouldn’t be. Most adults with a reasonable IQ should be fine. Show details
Works great – Bought this a little while ago and it works great. As a blower it does what it says on the box and as a vacuum it works well. Had no trouble at all starting it went after a couple of pulls and still goes on the second pull. Overall a good tool.

Started first go blows leaves very good on idle stops and starts easily – This is the first blower vac I have used thout it would be a dud at $129 and all the bad reviews but I can't fault this blower it blows piles of leaves on about half throtal and on idle blows dry leaves no trouble, The vacumm works well if you don;t kink the bag blocking the flow, also it works much better if the 90o elbow points down seem to… Read more
block more if it points up, keep an eye on the bag should expand with the air if doesn't you have a blocage in the suction or elbow outlet. Bought from Aldi Point Clare NSW with a standard 3 year waranty.
Won't start? Here's the solution! – I too was having the same problem as all the reviewers here, saying the blower wouldn't start straight out of the box. Thank's to coming across this site when looking for answers, and Sally G's reference to Michael S's solution, I was successful in getting my blower to start. Here's my addition to the fix: Make sure the air intake grill is seated… Read more
properly so that the micro safety switch is engaged. If you open the grill & push on the switch with a screwdriver you can hear a "click". I found the little tab on the grill used to engage the micro switch wasn't doing so, as it wasn't pushing in the switch far enough when the grill was closed. I wrapped a couple of layers of electrical tape around the tab on the grill, closed the grill, & heard the "click" from the switch. It fired up on the 2nd pull of the cord! I hope this helps everyone else who's having the same problem.
got it started thanks to quick fix solution by another reviewer! – Was about to take this back as we were unable to start it, then checked reviews and found a solution from michael s. THANKYOU SO MUCH, started immediately after we tried the solution. We have the lawn mower and chainsaw also which both started straight away, so glad we checked and were able to find a super quick solution, thanks again Show details

NOT worth a cup of water – ONLY started 3 times ,then took 20 minutes to start ,we could not find paper work as wife had lost it [Medical problem ] so i pulled it down and found that the coil was NOT working, then we found paper work ,and phoned garden line ,only repair was at north coast, aprox 80 ks away at palmwoods .phoned them, explained problem and they said it would be… Read more
ok that i have pulled it down .as it would save them time ,so i took it up ,phoned several times told part had to come from Melbourne VIC. 4 weeks later they said because i pulled part of it down there is NO warranty BUT would fix it for 2 hours labour,I went back up and picked it up un fixed .
Hard starting and won't keep running – Wouldn't start or always hard to start, runs and cuts out, runs poorly, last time after 20 mins stopped and starting smoking heaps... stay away from this item Show details
How to start a new blower – After struggling for days (about to return) I managed to start today. I would not be have been able to do it without the review comments. The comment about the micro switch was the key. I could not find any micro switch near the air intake but found one near the blower hose attachment. Even after finding it it was hard to rotate the hose in position. Any micro switch should be mentioned in the manual, how to start. Show details

Tried 2 and both were dud! – Bought the product. Straight out of the box, didn’t work. Showed a mechanic (neighbour)- he couldn’t get it to start. Returned the product to Aldi. Purchased another piece (same product) I assumed I had picked up a lemon and wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. The second one was exactly the same. Wouldn’t start. I tried the… Read more

Doesn't matter what I do It will not start! – Started once as a blower then nothing, I would suggest that the micro safety switch if faulty in my brand new unit, set it up as a vacuum unit had the devil's own job trying to get the vacuum tubes to fit, appeared to activate the safety switch but would not start, pulled the plug and set the gap, was too tight. Reset the unit as a blower but who… Read more
knows if the limit switch is met by the intake cover as it will not start no matter what I do. I am no dummy with mechanical devices rebuilt a few car engines and gearboxes in my younger days, this is just a piece of cheap junk!
wont start ...... try this simple fix ! – This feedback may assist some who are struggling with the non-start issue, the air intake cover has a (micro) safety switch as part of the design. The cover must be closed / fitted correctly for the unit to start. Show details
Bought assembled and would not start . Never will I buy any equipment like this from also again – Did not work. Assembled as per the instructions and would not start . Complete waste of money. I have to keep writing to get to the 30 word so I can post this review Show details

What the hec is this rubbish – Brand new and out of the box and will not start??? Not even tries to start! What rubbish are Aldi selling. Never buy a product from them again. I seen the comments about it will not start and figured maybe there was a bad batch. But not this is also dead out of the box!!!! Waste of time getting it and now having to return it. Show details
Does not start – Put together and would not start!!! Impossible to start. Can’t tell you if it goes well or even does what is says it’s suppose to do because it DOES NOT GO!!!
Useless – Would not start- checked spark plug - no spark- yes i earthed the plug- so I emptied the tank, packed it back up in the box and got my money back- just lost best part of a day - yes it was brand new Show details
Has anyone been able to start one of these?? – Simple,it will never wear out because it is impossible to start.has to be the most frustrating unit I have ever purchased. Well the only advantage is its ultra quiet. LOL. Show details

Value for money – I’ve had this blower for about 14 months now and it’s been great. I’m a contractor so it’s done a heap of work in this time so definitely made my money from it. Only issue I had is the filter cover can come off so make sure it’s done up tight after use. Another worker also had the issue of it loosening and falling off. Great value for money Show details

Not happy , stopped working – Got very little use out of blower before it stopped working. Been told by serviceman that it needs new coil . Serviceman said you can’t get spare parts for this cheaper range of blower
Best Backpack blower i have owned – Easy to start, easy to service, tons of power, i am old and sick but it's easy for me to put on. I have a large deep pattern paved driveway that is very hard to clean and it does it effortly. Show details
This guy giving 5 stars bought it 3 weeks before it's release. And gave the same review for another aldi blower – This guy giving 5 stars bought it 3 weeks before it was released?. He also left the same review on the last aldi blower?. Anyway it looks well made and ran great for a30 mins sat now Monday morning it's stuffed. Starts perfect but splutters out as soon as I pull the throttle. Shame hopefully I just got a lemon and everyone else likes it. As I said… Read more
great construction cumfortable all great just doesn't work bummer because at $170 it's great value 5 year warranty. I might even return it and try another one
bloody awesome – despite reading all the negative comments on this product i enjoy using it for what it,s made for and yep blowing leaves grass clippings after mowing and yep no dramas with it just it,s a bit rich running at 30:1 fuel and oil mixture ratio but better than blowing your cylinder and piston and rings and on this motor it takes it for sure and i often… Read more
get a few leaves here and in the Autumn/Fall season including parts of pine tree flakes and it cleans and clears those out of the way like nothing and i prime it up 4 to 5 times and then i put the choke on with the On/Off switch in the On Position and pull the cord and she does start and sometimes a good spark plug cleaning also helps to kick her over and sometimes if the plug is tired you can replace them so yeah dramas for me and because i am tall well i have a good back for these so yeah but not recommended for those people under experienced or don,t have a clue as to how to operate them etc and not gonna mention names just people who are clueless that is
Rubbish! Don't waste your money – Initial thoughts ... quieter, smoother, less powerful (but adequate) compared with the 2-stroke blower it replaced. But after just a couple of hour's previous use, it was difficult to start. Eventually ran (roughly) after checking filter, plug, fuel, oil etc. After a few minutes, it sprayed fuel over me and leaked heavily, coughed a few times… Read more
and died.
More attention and attempted starts, before the starter broke (probably after a total of 30 pulls).
As the photo shows, it still looks almost new (because it is), but has suffered multiple failures. At about $75/hour to own this thing, I suggest looking elsewhere. Seems my experiences with this dud product are very common.
Left wondering what Aldi's "stringent quality standards" refer to ... it certainly isn't the product or the customer service.
only just lasted a year with biweekly use – Vibration killed it prematurely with bolts even with spring washers coming loose. The choke pull lever kept coming disengaged. requiring some regular attention after 6 months. Great price BUT a bit of a hassle. Show details

Not good enough – Only used about 4 times. Last time was about 1/2 hr and engine stopped. Tried to start and the starter just slips. Plastic pawls in the starter are not good enough. Attaching the vac bag and associated piping is a pain. Not happy. I'm going to buy a better brand. Show details
