I like the products but warranty service is worse than bad – Was a great fan of Aldi products until today, not any more: we had a 90cm gas glass cooktop bought in September 22, so still under warranty. Worked well, but glass shattered a week ago while cooking. Lucky no one was in front of the cook top at the time as glass was projected on the work bench. But when I contacted the repairer (Waynes Spares) to organised the service call I was told strait up: "Why did you buy some crap like that". When I told him what happened he said "Glass does not break like that, you dropped something on it.". As I explained again what happened he stated: "Anyway that's what I will say"!!! ALDI fix your after sales service, this is totally and utterly unacceptable. The last item I buy from you. Update: After the above conversation I decided to get the cooktop dismantled and I returned it to an Aldi store which refunded the product cost. Good. But at the end I am still out of two installation / disconnection cost. So in summary, in my case, Aldi was good at refunding the product cost but the in-house warranty is not worth the paper it's written on.

Caution..glass top exploded – I have had the burner for 2 months and while cooking last night the top glass exploded and sent glass fragments everywhere..this happened tonight so I am asking if anyone has had a similar problem Show details

Aldi 90cm Glass Cooktop – Of course I am loving it(atm) ! We had it installed last Sept(so not that long), it was a good upgrade to what we had originally. up the wok quickly and retains the high temperature which makes stir frying much better. I like the glass top as it is easier to clean with a simple soapy sponge or wipes. Also the labels (flame guide) is underneath the glass so there is no way it will ever fade unlike the one which is just printed on top of stainless ones. The grill is cast iron and it's not that heavy but it is solid. If we decide to overhaul the kitchen later on, I won't feel bad as I didn't spend a fortune on this cooktop. Over all for $299,it is a very good buy!

Let's see if it lasts at least 5 years! Haha fingers crossed!
