The Cooktop had been reboxed and had a small dent in the top. Bosch said they would cover 10% damage fee only. They would not cover delivery fees to swap over the unit, meaning I would need to remove, pick up a new unit and pay for another installation. I'm very disappointed with the quality of the cooktop, the steel is very thin and marks easily; I expected better quality from Bosch. Show details

rings and doubles as a small element - turn it down to under half way (4 out of 9), and the outer ring shuts off. Really useful! Previously, even on low, our wok ring was too hot to leave something simmering. The elements are well spaced out. I’ve read some reviews where people complain about the back wall causing problems with centring pots and pans, but we have a slightly wider bench, so 80mm at the back. This makes it perfect to use all three back burners at once. Each burner control has a 9-step “Flame Select” setting rather than infinite control. In other reviews, some people can’t see the point or don’t see any difference. Well, I do. I do most of the cooking, and we cook a wide variety of things. If you usually cook with real precision like me, these settings are excellent. Just a touch up or down can be the difference between burnt and perfect. For some stuff I cook regularly, I can even remember the number I have it on. E.g., for fillet steak I know 6 on the back right burner is bang on, 7 slightly too hot. The controls feel robust, and the 9-step settings are smooth with just enough resistance, rather than clunky notches. It’s a breeze to clean. The three cast iron components lift up easily. We scrub them with a non-abrasive brush in dishwashing liquid in the sink rather than putting them in the dishwasher, which is not recommended. As with all gas cooktops, working with flame means it’s going to get mucky over time. We were surprised, however, at how quickly the alloy rings have stained. And permanently. If you have a spillage, be warned it will mark your shiny alloy rings. This isn’t so much of a problem as they’re mostly covered by the black top rings, but ugly when you take them apart to clean. Overall, however, we really like it. Easy to clean, the stainless steel is good quality and it looks pretty good integrated into our stainless steel bench. It’s a big improvement on the old F&P.

Installation
❌ The foam sealing tape supplied is woefully inadequate - it does not even touch the bench top surface if installed according to the instructions. This will require me to source something better, revisit and re-install the cooktop. ❌ I found the hold down cleats were inconveniently positioned for the installation and required me to drill new holes. ✅Being and A/B swap for a previous 90cm unit made the installation of the gas and power trivial ❌There were no specific instructions as to which of the supplied brass fittings were applicable.
It's great in many ways – I installed this in a renovation a few months ago. It's not possible to get a low simmer! When I rang Customer Support, they suggested I buy an additional part to get the low simmer. I don't understand what the point of the Flame Select of 1 to 9 is, if I have to buy an additional part to get the low simmer??
Other than that, I do like it for it's good looks and having 6 rings is a wonderful luxury. It looks like a quality build, well finished and stylish.
In 1 year, burner stopped working 3 times and replaced twice – I purchased this as it is Bosch, which I can highly rely on and wanted peace of mind. I have read many reviews and most were good. visit from repair services twice. Now, one of the two replaced during 1st repair stopped working again. Doesn't ignite. This gas cook-top gave us so much trouble that we decided not to trust Bosch anymore when it come to gas cook-top. Design of this one is really good - actually one of the best you could find in the market. But cleaning of the wok burners are bit tough. Stainless steel gets scratch marks very easily. Need to be very very careful. We have requested Bosch to replace this cooktop but they kept sending for repair. I am assuming they will do the same this time which is a bit frustrating. If anything gives so much trouble it should be replaced promptly. At least that we expected from Bosch. But unfortunately our expectations are broken.
Better than the old one – Installed new as part of a full kitchen renovation in November 2019. discoloured due to a undetected spill with again no solution found as to what will clean it, and the cast-iron trivet design makes it awkward to effectively clean the stainless steel top. Have been waiting for Bosch to provide the answers for over a two weeks now without a response.
Big Cooktop - LOVE IT – I bought this because I wanted the biggest cooktop I could find that allowed me to put multiple pots and pans on at once. I'm really glad I purchased this. The big gas in the middle is where I do most of my cooking. One cool thing about this cooktop is that you can select the gas level by number, so if you're boiling something regularly I have it in my head what level it would be at. Great purchase. Buy O/S Product... wait O/S shipping times for spare parts – I have no idea how well or not this product works... The (insert appropriate disparaging adjective) cabinetmaker who came to install the oven, under the stovetop, broke a part on the stovetop... daily between Australia and Germany, I am now without a stove for two to three weeks??
This is after three separate phone calls to Bosch over a period of a week, trying to order the part in the first place - because noone until the third operator actually made any notes about what was required...

FlameSelect love it!!! – I have bought this gas cooktop 6 months back and have been using it over the last 6 months. I love the flameselect function which allows you to set the heat at specific level so you don't need to worry about boiling spills. One big WOK burner is more than enough in case you want to cook large meal. I like the placement of WOK burner in the middle as this doesn't interfere with other burners. Love it - easy to clean simple to use – Cooks perfect absorption rice and stirred custard on the lowest settings, plus plenty of heat for a stir fry on the largest setting. Its so easy to clean with no sharp edges to trap food. The burners are placed a good distance from one another, my partner and I can stand on either side of the cooktop using different burners and not get in each others way (yes my cooktop is in an island bench - great decision, so much room on all sides) Show details · 1
