I've had my "Estate" bike for probably 2 or more years, not ridden it all that much. Brakes are woeful to which others can attest or verify. I've not had any battery issues but today, something went awfully wrong with the pedals and cadence sensor or front sprocket. Probably not the cadence sensor, as I could pedal and that generates the… Read more
electrical power, but there was no actual pedal thrust or torque, so I had to rely entirely on the electrical power to move me along. Have yet to pull it apart to see what broke.

Not Happy Jan – I have acquired a secondhand Aldi men’s ebike about 12 months old and looks in new condition On my first long ride I discovered the motor doesn’t kick in when pedalling and had to ride it as a push bike not pleasant at all What to do other than scrap the as new bike? Show details
Good for the price but has its glitches – I brought this from Audi. It has its little problems. There were times when I turn it on, go to pedal & the motor isn't kicking in- I found that the sensor was very particular on its position, if it was only a mm off the magnets... it wouldn't pick up therefore the motor would not move, so I was constantly repositioning the sensor. Another problem… Read more · 1
the battery kept popping out, I also found the hole sockets (where the prongs go into connect it) would slip back further into the battery, I had to open the battery & push the metal sockets back into position but they still move away so the battery isn't connecting properly. Anyway I need to order a new battery, it seems the life has gone out of it now, so can you please give me the battery name model no. & direct me to the site to order another battery. The wheel bearings started to grind they mustv ended falling out I'm not sure but the wheel started wobbling like crazy, eventually the I noticed that the Axel started to slide out of its casing even though the wheel was bolted on solid, I freak out so I changed the wheel. Anyhow I just need the name /model no of battery so I can get a replacement one thankyou
So good it was stolen – I’m just wondering if you could send me a close up photo of the bike to give to police. Thanks Show details · 1

Some issues that I have had with my Aldi bike – I purchased the Aldi Men’s bike branded “Estate City” in Australia in April 2022. When assembling it I found that the bearings in the front wheel were rough and felt like they needed replacing. I re-lubricated the bearings and adjusted the cone nuts and it now feels OK ( not 100% but OK). The pedal bearings also felt like they needed replacing… Read more
but that is not possible but I can’t feel the roughness in my feet when pedalling so I will leave them for the time being. I saw in other reviews that some people found the spokes loose so I checked that. They were not as taught as I had expected but not urgently in need of adjustment. On riding it I found that the heel of my shoe kept catching on the side stand. I wear size 8 shoes so they are not big. My solution was to cut a plate of aluminium 120mmx40mmx4mm and bolt it to the bracket for the side stand and then bolt the side stand to the new bracket, thereby moving the stand back about 120mm which works perfectly. The front brake kept rubbing on the left side regardless of how often I adjusted it. I found that the adjusting screw was slipping off the spring that it was supposed to tension. This was fixed by putting a washer behind the spring and aligning it on centre with the adjusting screw. The brake still kept rubbing after applying the brakes. I had to rotate the spring locator one hole more tension to pull the brake block free of the wheel. The other issue that it a little disappointing is the way the electric power is delivered. My wife has an electric bike as well and power delivery on it is much smoother and predictable. With the Aldi bike it takes several rotations of the pedals before the power “comes on” and it does not turn off for a few seconds after crank rotation has ceased. Touching the brakes stops electric boost instantly so that stops the bike from charging on. When travelling down hill and coasting (ie no pedalling) when I start to pedal again, for probably 10 crank rotations, the pedals and chain feel disconnected from the wheel and electric boost does not commence in this period. My wife’s bike (which cost more than twice the Aldi bike) is much smoother in operation.
So I find it a little disappointing but it is an OK bike to ride, so I will keep it recognizing that it could be better.
Great value – This bike does the job for the price mark. If you are looking for a really good entry level e-bike this is the one for you. You will need to clean regularly Show details
Battery problem – I have sent pictures of my battery which keeps on popping up due to its lock not engaging properly .Am still waiting for a replacement battery which is out of stock. Please advise status of battery order.
Basic Design Faults – There are 3 design faults. 1) the seat is very uncomfortable. 2) there is no place to screw in a water bottle. 3) the bike stand needs to be 2cm further back. My left heel keeps hitting the stand - most annoying. But generally, the bike is good value for money. Show details
Can't connect to zippo app – Hi I've tried everything and can't connect to the zippo cycling app. Overall the bike is pretty good for $1000 but it struggles a fair bit up steeper hills and also the app problems. If the app problems were fixed I'd probably give it 4 stars. Show details
good but not quite what it states it is – This electric bike is a Peddle "assisted" bike not a true electric powered bike... That's not to say it is a bad bike but if you have visions of moving along at 25 kph without peddling I suggest looking elsewhere. Pros: :If you have a few local hills of moderate slope to climb this bike assists well. :Easy to assemble out of the box. (but I… Read more
suggest using your own tools not the ones supplied)
:Great for casual rides of short distances.
Cons. :Limited range... battery takes 6 hours to charge for about 1-2 hours of use (or less with a lot of hills) and the charger heats up a bit when in use.
:Top speeds are limited by limited gears. With no front gears (on the peddles) you can easily outspeed the peddles best speed on flat ground leaving you coasting along feeling able to(or wanting to) go faster but unable to do so.
I would love to see if eatra gears could be added to the peddles which in MY opinion would take this from OK to a possible contender for a commuter bike of short distances (10-30k). The only other idea would be to somehow improve the battery longevity to improve distance but this would add to overall weight of the bike. The tools that come with the bike are at best OK for the job... and make a semi-decent set to take with you for emergency repairs/adjustments (flat tires etc.) but not much else. Add to that taking off the back tire to fix a flat could be difficult for someone with out a bit of training as the gears can be difficult/twitchy to adjust.
ALDI electric bike purchased June 2021 – Bought it in June ,it was the last one at the local ALDI store who had reduced it substantially .Value for money all works brakes and gears need adjustment easy to put together although handle bars were a bit tricky at first. For the price worth a crack probably won’t ride a normal bike anymore they are a heap of fun E-bikes Show details

Disappointed update – Further to my previous post, subsequent research indicates that the wheel spokes on the rear wheel of the Aldi Men’s Bike were probably loose when the bike was packaged by the manufacturer. Once in use, the loose spokes loosen further and the wheel begins to wobble. The wobble increases as the spokes become looser until the bike is unrideable.… Read more
This was exactly my experience. Tightening the spokes provided temporary relief but as I was unable to properly tension the spokes and ‘true’ the wheel, the wheel wobble returned. Next step is to take the bike to a professional bike repair shop and have the spokes tightened professionally. Some websites recommend the use of loctite for the spokes but I’ll see what the professionals recommend. Still disappointed that the virtually new bike cannot be used. Hopefully the repair shop will get me on the road again.
Disappointing – I bought this e bike for my father, who is elderly and out of shape. I thought it would be a great way to get him out and exercising and sharing the joy of a bike ride with his grandkids, whilst taking most of the hard work out of it. I bought the bike, and managed to go through the pain of putting it on my roof racks, getting it to my parents… Read more
place and then spent half a day assembling the bike, which seemed quite straightforward, especially to my dad who is great with bike mechanics. I waited with excitement until the battery was all charged, turned it on and then went for a test ride. And nothing. Nothing happened. The electric motor never kicked in. I reread the instruction booklet in case i had missed something. But i hadn't. The display was on, i could adjust the assist level, but the motor never turned on whilst i was pedalling. The troubleshooting guide at the back suggested it could be the fuse, and we called the service centre whose advice was pack it back in the box, and take it back to the store. I will do this but after essentially wasting a whole day assembling the bike and considerable effort trying to get it to work, we now have to work out how to pack it back in the box as it was. Not looking forward to that part! I probably wouldn't buy another, mostly because it is such huge effort to find out it doesn't work. On the upside, it is a lovely looking bike, black and sleek and otherwise rides quite nicely.
Be aware! – Pros: - Initial view was that this looked like a great hub powered e-bike for under $1000. - Aesthetically pleasing, good power range, and great value. - 1st week with just one charge the battery performed well. Cons: - Upon opening the box found that the multi-tool feel apart within 2mins whilst assembling the various parts. - Tried… Read more
connecting the suggested app to an Android device and never worked. - After about a dozen 7km rides the entire crankshaft started grinding and was rendered useless!
Would not expect the primary part of the bike to suddenly go. Be aware!

Hub drive aldi men's ebike – My first ebike and I live 4km up a hill from a lake with cycleways, the trip back up the hill before e bike was strenuous, now 2nd gear and minimal effort to climb the hill, every thing works. Down side,in the app you can adjust the settings for torque, electric braking and it is a speedo as well, torque setting was low before adjusting on the… Read more
app, first ride had very little assistance but after adjusting the torque on the app it is a amazing, easy to assemble and battery lasted an hour and a half(30km)and was still half full, good value.
Aesthetically perfect – Assembled easily. Charged detachable battery out of the box before assembling. Took it out for a ride this arvo.. smooth, powerful pedal assist.. means powers up 1-5 level of choice, or zero if you don't need it. Lovely tires. Nice rims. Added the light kit usb recharchable, super bright. Son & father very happy. Show details
