Repeating what everyone else has been saying - have used this for years because it was the one the cat liked best, but now they have change the composition. Terrible. Need a garden trowel and muscles to budge the hard clay sludge which leads to flicking sh......t everywhere. Not Happy Jan neither is the cat. Show details

Absolutely terrible they have changed it or something they are bigger inside pack now then smaller pebbles to soak up wee. The smaller was better the larger pebbles are horrible do not work the same. Unless switch back I'm finding another brand . Do not recommend them at this stage at all The other concern is the amount of dust it's disgusting and unhealthy Show details

Worst cat litter ever!. Huge pieces of un processed clay the size of 10-20 cent pieces.. no odour control either although it says it has odour control on the packaging.. Show details

We find it to work well. The consistency of it is unreliable with everything from coarse small rocks to sometimes a fine almost like dust. But in all cases, it clumps well, the tray never smells and it is so easy to discard the used bits. And it's price is extremely competitive. Therefore we'll put up with the inconsistency of the mix, after what is it for !!!! Show details

The last bag of Aldi cat litter I bought was so bad I couldn't use it. The size of the litter material was not the mostly small granular product but the size of medium gravel. There is no way my cats will use it and I can't see it being clumping litter when any liquid will go straight through and settle at the bottom of the litter tray. Show details

DANGEROUS TO CAT'S EYES I have used the Aldi Bentonite Kitty Litter and was generally satisfied with it in spite of the inconsistency of the quality. However, my 17 year old Burmese Cat has had a Corneal Ulcer which has not responded to Veterinary Treatment or consults with a Veterinary Eye Specialist over a period of 4 months - $ thousands… Read more

spent with no improvement. I was distressed for my cat's pain wondering what more I could do - the Vet Specialist recommended a Corneal Graft - cost $4500 and no guarantee that it would be successful. THEN I decided to change the type of litter I was using - which was Aldi's Clumping Kitty Litter - Bentonite - and overnight there was a dramatic improvement in the eye which continued over the next few days and the Vet has confirmed that the Corneal Ulcer is gone. Obviously I will NEVER use this product again and I would like it clearly marked on the product: MAY CAUSE EYE DAMAGE. If your cat has Corneal Ulcer or Eye Infections change your litter brand and see if that clears the eye. I would also like Veterinarians to be aware of the potential that Bentonite - clumping kitty litter - is potentially damaging to some cats eyes.

Useless, the rocks do not clump together and it is not fit for purpose. The packaging is fraudulent, and the product is terrible !

This was the best clumping cat litter and we used it for 5+ years. HOWEVER over the past 4-5 months they have changed the composition of the product and now it makes wet concrete that is hard to remove from the cat tray. Show details

Used for years. It used to clump well and Mr Fussypants very much preferred it over all the other litters that we've tried. Only downsides were how much it tracked outside the tray, (but that's true of any of the clumping bentonite litters) and that it was sometimes hard to get. HOWEVER, the bags that we've bought over the last 6 months… Read more

(separately) were hard to get and have been completely useless. Doesn't clump, just turns into a muddy, sticky slush at the bottom of the tray. Didn't look anything like it used to, either - the particles were much bigger and denser.

Our cat hates everything else. He does occasionally spread it around when he's having a "fun moment". No smell, easy to clean out of tray. Haven't had much dust. Great price. Lately it is hard to get hold of. Haven't been told it's discontinued but seldom in shop. Show details

seeking clumping cat litter – Easily the best cat litter on the market I have used others and they cannot match the absorption, softness, and clumping properties, why is it discontinued all the others are rubbish compared to this I have used it for years. The litter is not spread around the house, little to no dust, it spreads easily, and absorbs all odours please explain to… Read more ·  1

Absolutely disgraceful litter – Less than one star was not an option unfortunately, this litter actually caused me anxiety, I needed 20 minutes with a pressure washer to clean the soggy mess from the litter tray. I couldn't imagine this product had been tested before production. It's absolutely disgraceful, never ever use this product. Show details

Good product, great value – We changed to this litter after using crystals purchased from kmart which became expensive having to replace weekly as well as the really bad odor!! Very happy with the clay clumping litter, we have two cats & three litter trays which get used constantly. No noticeable odor and its easy enough to scoop out when soiled. Best decision we made in… Read more

cost-savings and reducing the bad smell. Litter can get flicked onto floor, granules can be powdery, but easy enough to sweep up with a dustpan and brush.

The Best Clumping Kitty litter – I have been using breeders choice for over 20 years. Changed to this and I'm so impressed. When using clay you should use a Metal scoop not plastic, it's easier to get to the bottom to sift through the litter. Clumps straight away, no pee or poop smell I wish I found it earlier. I hope it is not discontinued as I have finally found a product that… Read more

does what it says. I tried woolies brand.. rubbish. I tried Coles brand.. rubbish This brand is so great a little messy from the cats kicking it nothing a dust pan can't fix. Thumbs up

Aldi clumping cat litter useless product – Aldi's new clumping cat litter is useless, does not clump , impossible to scrape up to clean, just leaves a soggy wet mess, not sure why they replaced the brilliant one they had. Will not buy again and letting my cat owner friends know to steer clear, very disappointing. Show details

Outstanding value but with some drawbacks – We have used this for around five months and continue to do so. Background, Since the start of 2023 we have become the custodians of five rescue kittens/ cats – it’s a long story but basically, we were new cat owners and needed to navigate everything that was necessary. A key ‘necessary’ is kitty litter and we initially used Chandler Natural Cat… Read more

Litter. That worked okay (not great) and earlier this year we purchased a self-cleaning litter bin. That needed a self-clumping litter and so we wanted a product that was comparable in texture to what our clowder was used to.

Based initially just on its price, we thought that we would try the Aldi San-i-pet. All of our cats were immediately comfortable with this litter.

One positive side is that it is excellent at clumping (and I note that some other users complain about it turning to 'concrete'). In our experience it does a great job of controlling odours and it's a far more pleasant experience cleaning this that some other products. On the down side of this, don't expect to be able to clean it with a plastic scoop! We broke our plastic one and replaced it with a metal one which seems to work perfectly.

A very big negative is the inconsistency of texture. Sometimes it's fine (and more dusty than normal) while at other times it's far more course. This doesn't seem to bother our cats but the very dusty fine batches are a real pain. Everything in the immediate vicinity of our litter bin collects a fine layer of dust within a few days of it being refilled.

It's also noticeable that this litter can get transferred to cats feet and find its way onto the floor nearby. It's no worse than the non-clumping attapulgite clay product that we used previously.

The only other issue we have had has been supply. There were several weeks back in February when the product was hard to get. Like toilet paper for humans, the reliability of kitty litter supply is something that we really rely on.

will never buy again – This really is a terrible product. Doesn't clump well, and you'll need a chisel to get it unstuck from the bottom of the tray. Leaves a fine dust everywhere. I don't know what Aldi were thinking when they replaced a very good product with this rubbish. Show details

Turns to concrete, do not buy – This litter is not fit for purpose, the previous brand Aldi stocked was far superior. It turns to concrete in the litter tray, is hard to remove, sticks to my cat's paws and doesn't clump after more than one toileting event in the tray. It is horrible to clean and I'm using far more than the previous brand as I have to throw it out more frequently… Read more

in huge wet clumps. Aldi: please stop supplying this brand and go back to Enviro Litter which was a great product. I will be shopping elsewhere until this brand is gone.

Just horrible – I went to Aldi and noticed they had changed brand, yet again, this is the part of Aldi that annoys me. Any I bought 10 bags as I do normally and with the other comments this is the worst and I mean worst I have ever had. The pee goes straight to the bottom of the litter box and I snapped 2 shovels trying to get the soft mess at the bottom , I… Read more

ended buying a metal shovel this is how tough it was. You loose a hell of a lot of litter and even the cat would rather crap outside the box I contacted Aldi, they did not really gives a hoot , could not give a rats butt, well fine we know your customer service is not the best , you want me to ship elsewhere I will. This just proves their products are not tested, all about the price, Aldi products are not impressing me much lately.

NEW TERRIBLE CLUMPING KITTY LITTER IN ALDI – NEW TERRIBLE CLUMPING KITTY LITTER IN ALDI. THE WORSE KITTY LITTER ON THE MARKET. Aldi’s new clumping Litter by San-I-Pet is a terrible product. paws and could cut their paws. I now have to look for another product in another store (not Aldi) that will be good for my cats, and will work. Sadly, You have lost me as a customer and probably will lose other customers. I am taking back all of the litter that I had bought to Aldi. Why get rid of a great product by Enviro that works really well and get a non-working product by San-I-Pet. Shame on you Aldi. The pics are the difference in these products. Enviro is fine litter and San-I-Pet is little stones.

This product is the worst cat litter on the market – The cat litter does not clump it spreads it retains an odour rather than absorbing the odour and letting the odour go. My cat sprays it everywhere. You had a great product and now you are cutting back $.30 to bring something subservient to the market. Show details

was great, now not as good – we loved Aldi's clay clumping kitty litter, till the recent 'change' - its changed packaging which is fine, but, the product itself, has become much finer & when our cat wee's, if you dont clean it up fast, it sinks to the bottom in a hard lump & sets like concrete to the bottom of the tray, making it soo hard to clean up! still has the great… Read more
