Happy with reviews – Thinking of investing in a Term Deposit with Alex Bank and must admit I was happy to read that they reject loan applications for various reasons. It's important to know when investing funds that the organisation is responsible and doesn't hand out $ willy nilly!

Disappointing – Poor. This bank discriminated against single parents, regardless of income status and credit history. They actively contribute to gender inequality. I would not recommend anyone use this bank. Show details

Winner winner chicken dinner – Easiest, fastest, lowest rate loan I’ve ever had the pleasure of applying for. Advertised as 4.99% and we got 5.99%. We weren’t offered the whole amount we applied for but I ended up grateful for that. Had we cleaned up our spending habits for a few months before applying (which is the recommended good practice) it may have been a different story, alas we were too impatient but it all worked out.

Loan approved – I delt with Fiance Beagle, they got me onto Alex Bank to help me get a loan. They were the best company to go through. I got my loan approved with 24hrs and the money was transferred into my bank account within 2hrs. They were very helpful, sent me everything I need to know about my loan and contract repayments. Don’t even bother with them! – Considering they asked minimal questions on the loan application and assuming the application process would have been more in-depth, no wonder it was declined. No transparency!! – I was attracted to the low interest rates that Alex was advertising, and thinking I had a good credit score due to a good standing with repayments and debt etc. I decided to apply. I was told I had a good credit score, and when I researched it further this was confirmed, however, a 12% interest rate is MUCH higher than what they were advertising for an excellent score (they are offering 4.99% for excellent score candidates), and MUCH higher than most other interest rates, even from the big banks. The gap seems really wide considering my credit score is good. This has now affected my credit score even more, which is a real shame. I would recommend staying away from this bank, as it seems very odd, and actually quite unethical. I would also recommend Alex Bank providing more transparency with this type of interaction, especially as I have now seen that other banks do.

Alex Bank are amazing – Things started off a little shaky with my initial application being rejected. Bar the initial hiccup, taking out a loan with them has been the simplest and fastest process I have ever been through. Their customer care is top notch and not comparable to any other bank I have ever dealt with.

Would highly recommend Alex Bank to anyone looking for a great and speedy service.

Never again – I have a perfect credit history and a long term, secure income, no debt except very low mortgage. I just got rejected for a 6K loan so not to touch secured savings which will now impact my credit score. Only reason I can think of is I have 4 kids (in shared care but no option for that). note others also say they advertise low rates and then either reject of hike the rate up. I've used Ratesetter (Plenti) before with no hassles, will use them in the future.

You won't get the advertised rate but you can negotiate with them – I have an extremely good credit history - never missed a payment on any car loan, mortgage or credit card. Applied for the advertised rate of 5.49%, got offered 11% but negotiated down to 9%.  Show reply

Product is to ambiguous – Beware that even if your credit score is ‘excellent’ you may not be able to achieve a low interest rate of 6.95%. Instead you will be offered a rate comparable to other lenders.
