Fact not good company for travel insurance did not honour gold plus coverage out of pocket $13500 plus $1008 instance cost. Very poor service wish never heard of Allclear Australia

Our Northern Lights cruise was cancelled as the ship was not ready after refurbishment. My claim was declined as it was not a defined event and they also stated a Policy Exclusion 'Other Operational Reasons'. I asked for a definition of the latter and 8 weeks later got a reply with 270 words of Dictionary definition of the 3 words and a 3 line summary of each word for which I think I need to have a Literary Degree to comprehend. First time insured with them and never again.
The WORST Company I have ever dealt with
I had used them on two prior occasions BUT I had never made a claim. Very easy to buy a policy but an impossible task to make a claim. We purchased our insurance in August 2019 (with a very expensive premium) including an extra cancellation option. We lodged a claim for a refund of the cost of our trip in March 2020 due to Covid-19. We made initial contact with them shortly thereafter, submitted all the required paperwork and claim form. We were then not able to contact them again. I lost count of the number of phone calls and emails I se...nt. We ended up engaging a lawyer who eventually made contact in June of this year after threatening to issue a Statement of Claim. Yes, you guessed it, no refund of the trip and no refund of the very expensive premium paid to them. The whole thing has just been a debacle of epic proportions. Now making contact with the ACCC to see what, if anything, can be done. Please DO NOT ever use this company for travel insurance, they are the absolute worst. There is no customer service whatsoever. Appalling. We did not leave Australia.
Appalling customer service
If you want good customer service don't use All Clear Australia. Their customer service staff are rude and very unhelpful. We paid for a policy before COVID and our policy did not exclude pandemics and then when we tried to make a claim, they said we weren't covered and after a long time searching they came up with some lame excuse as to why we weren't. We have tried to cancel our policy and get a refund (eg Covermore are providing 75% refunds for cancelled policies) and they won't do this either. For out trip, we can only get a credit to re-bo...ok next year and our travel insurance doesn't cover the credit. So, if my husband or I got sick (from something other than COVID) we lose our money because they won't cover it. Added to this one of their customer service representatives hung up on me. Shocking customer service. I know these are difficult times for everyone but they need to look at what other companies are doing.
Elderly people - beware!
My 80 year old grandparents who paid 1224 pounds for a Annual GOLD Insurance with this company are still stranded in Australia after their original flight home was rescheduled twice then cancelled.
After many expensive calls to Allclear over the last 4 weeks they did not receive the phone/email correspondence that was promised. Horrible Customer Service - Just after the cash. Do not use.
WE used AllClear for the first and LAST time due to an ongoing dispute about a cancelled trip which we made no claims for. We were informed we may be able to transfer to another trip but all return emails confirm AllClear will not help. They are part of Insure and Go. I would STRONGLY advise not to use either company. Simply after the cash.
Worst insurance company on the market
AllClear Travel Insurance are firstly underwritten by Insure N Go - not a reliable company. They took five weeks to respond to my email asking to use our cooling off period and said it was 'too late' and took our money. Their disregard of customers and rude customer service agents are a disgrace and this company should be shut down. Do not use their products and consider yourself pre-warned. [name removed] and [name removed] from Customer Service are who we finally had dealings with and told me to post a complaint to their Dispute Resolution Centre - again, what a laugh in this current day and age that their Dispute Resolution Centre is only available via post!!!!
All clear from All Clear
We felt comfortable and confident insuring with All Clear Travel Insurance. This confidence was proved when the day before we flew out of the country, our daughter sustained injuries requiring hospitalization and surgery, delaying departure. We appreciated the reimbursement of new flight tickets, done without picky delays that can be typical of some travel insurance companies. We will definitely insure with All Clear again.
Insurance cover for many medical conditions
My wife and I have purchased travel insurance with AllClear 4 times. We have had one relatively small medical hospital claim for my wife from a trip to Portugal this year. We were reimbursed about 4 weeks after lodging the claim.
