accommodation expenses incurred due to this event, our claim was denied as we were "not covered for a travel delay".

This company will use whatever means available to deny your claim. Why provide coverage for a natural disaster at all if you then deny claims attributed to a natural disaster.

When an event occurs and you need support, don't count on InsureandGo to be there for you.

Update: InsureandGo contacted me via phone to discuss my review. They stuck to the narrative that Natural Disaster coverage is only applicable to your level of cover.....weasal words. If that's the case, clearly define on the "add-on" page what is covered and not covered with each option, as the current wording does not sufficiently broadcast the limitations. As things stand, the Natural Disaster add-on coverage seems to be nothing more than a way to extract extra money from people.

Our claim was for a minor amount of money ($400 minus excess), I am just thankful that our claim was not for a substantial amount.

Do not use this Travel Insurance company as they will do everything they can to not pay out on a claim. could not use our stop overs in the UAE, (3days) and Malaysia, (10 days) as we could not enter those places with an emergency Passport. our flights were cancelled with no refund. We had to re-book flights where we could not leave the international side of the airports to get home. the trip home took 27 hours. We put a claim in with Insure & Go which was knocked back. they told us that if my passport had been stolen or lost they would have paid out. But as my passport was damaged they said they knocked back my claim. It quite clearly states in their advertising, "Cancellations: trip cancellation covers for unforeseen events like injury, illness or because of other reasons outlined in the PDS." Don't trust them!

we were going through 5 countries we thought it best we had it covered. We're pretty careful so avoided places in Italy where pickpockets are rife (like the metros), and had a great trip with no need to claim. I know claims are always the hard part and that I cannot comment on that process, hence "full five stars", the main reason for this is I felt we had the cover we needed and when we got back they sent us an email in case we needed to raise a claim. I appreciated that email, and felt like they weren't just playing "we've got your money, now get lost" like many insurers. Now we've used them, I'd use them again, they were a little expensive but I guess they have to cover risks with people with pre-existing medical conditions and at least I felt having told them and having these accepted was peace of mind.

I originally got the quote online which was reasonable and was about to pay, as the price was comparable and actually more reasonable than a couple of others I had dealt with. I was about to hit the button to pay but realized I hadn't answered my husband's medical questions. A quick phone call, with only a short wait I had a lovely human to talk to. I got that sorted and was again going to pay when I realized that this time, I had incorrectly answered a question. I phoned back and I was quickly on the line to a very helpful lady who actually went through all the questions again with me and checked to see if it would make any difference to the end price. It did not, so she actually emailed me back the quote within a short period of time. All done and purchased in no time at all. Hopefully I won't have to make a claim, but at this stage, to have peace of mind is a big step towards our great get-away.
