Don’t use 1Cover
We thought we were getting good value insurance for our overseas holiday and Mediterranean cruise, particularly selecting an in advance of departure policy including cruise cancellation insurance. As you can gather our cruise was cancelled due to a mechanical failure 24 hours before we were due to board. We advised 1Cover immediately and the representative told us not to worry you have cruise cover make the changes to re book another cruise and we’ll take care of your on costs when you return. On return we submitted our claim with receipts and the help of our Tavel agent. 1Cover replied and declined our claim due to the cruise cancellation by a mechanical issue! Which is stated in the t&c small print but not when you select full cruise cover at the time of purchase. We will be taking as far as we can and to the media. Personally I will never use 1Cover again and I will vigorously promote the non use of 1Cover on social media and family and friends throughout the world.
Yes good value. used this company 2-3 times now. I had a phone damaged this time where it smashed but haven’t lodged a claim not sure if I can now?

We have been used different travel insurances in the past but we decided to get 1Cover in our recent overseas travel based on the good review.
Unfortunately, our recent overseas travel saw me getting my wallet stolen on the 2nd day of travel and on the 4th day, someone dropped our camera. Losing the wallet was frustrating as that meant we had to change our travel itinerary as I no longer have a drivers licence to rent a car.
Luckily, 1Cover reimbursed a lot of our losses and changes to our itinerary. They even covered for the damage to the camera that was dropped during the travel. The claim process was quite straight forward and they were very helpful in guiding us on what is claimable.
It was unfortunate that we had to make a claim (two in fact) but it's great to know that 1Cover was there for us when we are in need. We'll definitely use them again in future.

No issues at all with this provider, I would highly recommend them to anyone needed travel insurance.
I did a lot of comparisons and found 1cover were not the cheapest but they where the best!
Nice for security
The policy was good value for the time we were away. Have never lodged a claim so don't know it's real benefits. Nice to know you have backup all the same even when we were away for a short period.

Good claims service... when you find it
A genuine claim for emergency accommodation while in the UK was declined recently because the claims centre believed our situation didn't fit the tight parameters of the policy's PDS.
One call to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority put me in touch with 1Cover's decision makers, who overturned the original decision and refunded our $5k.
While the service from the top was excellent -- empathetic, consultative, collaborative -- I have nothing good to say about the claims system itself. It is antiquated, overly laborious in the amount of documentation required, and takes too long. The claims centre doesn't think outside the square of the PDS and if, like us, your claim falls outside of that square, you will almost always be declined.
Not sure if we would insure again with 1Cover... like most travel insurers, the proof of their service is when you need to claim and the process for us was simply too distressing.
If I could be assured that any future claims would be handled by the top level staff, I would insure again in a heartbeat. But that's not the reality so our jury is out for now.
Excellent Service and Easy Claim Process
We give 1Cover a 5 star rating for brilliant service and an easy claim process for a dog bite in Bali. We received great medical advice from 1Cover while away and genuine care and follow up after the event and when we arrived home.

Policy suited my needs, easy to set up.
Fortunately I've never had to make a claim, But good to have peace of mind knowing I had cover.
Have used your service a number of times now, much cheaper than other Insurance company's.

Helped us get back home with very short notice
We lodged a claim because my girlfriend had an accident where she broke her leg. She ended up going to hospital and needing surgery. We rang and spoke to Toka. He was able to organise a flight change and upgrade for us since my girlfriend needed to go business class because she needed more room for her broken leg. He managed to organise this within a matter of a few hours and had us fly out that same day. He even organised a taxi for us from the hospital to the airport. We couldn't be happier with how Toka and 1cover looked after us. It made being in a really difficult and stressful situation so much easier for us. In the future when we travel we'll definitely be using this company again.
Full refund of premium during cooling off period
I recently booked and paid for 1Cover travel insurance. Upon researching insurance later on, I found that a recent earthquake off Bali meant we were not covered for earthquake or ash cloud. I read there was a cooling off period for insurance so I cancelled the insurance after 5 days. The following day the full costs were credited into my account. I was very impressed with their honesty and prompt refund.

Such a good company to deal with
We always have used this insurance company when travelling but never needed to have a claim . This time though we did and we’re so relieved to get fast and thorough service and a good result . Happy to continue to use this company for all our travel
Efficient and quick claim
The claim process was quick and easy, although to be fair we did have a relatively simple claim to process for health and a suitcase damage. We had all receipts . I do not know what a more difficult claim would be like.
Responsive and fair service in relation to my claim.
My claim associated with damage to my rental vehicle was dealt with efficiently and effectively with payment made very quickly. I was happy to return part of that payment when the rental car company refunded some of my damages bill.
