Be aware when you ask for quote to fix a fault. My gripe is with receiving a bill ($446.69) a week after the request to check and repair faulty gate that was jamming, and motor was not running. This job was given to Allgate as they were the original supplier and installers. Yes I was giving them a job. For the privilege of giving them a job, I was slugged with their so called callout fees plus the job to repair.($935) I complained that this was an underhand way of slugging your customers, they NEVER disclosed this callout fee ($375 plus time spent). This is a hidden way to charge extra. What is to stop them charging $500 or $1000 callout. If you do not disclose you should not have the right to charge. Is there a difference between requesting a quote and a callout ? Allgates discretion? Over to you owners/manager.
