We found the policy was of great value. As yet thankfully we have not had to lodge a claim but I must say we have a policy of a different type and have had to a lodge a claim, we could not be happier, service was fantastic. We have been with Allianz for eight years approximately.

Allianz all the way!
So as to apply for a house loan, we had to have home insurance. We purchased ours through NAB as this is our lender. Because we chose to go through NAB, setting up the policy was very easy.
Personally, I did not shop around, I thought if NAB backed it, then it has to be worthwhile protection.
We had a policy with them for about 15 years.
10 years ago, we had a house fire (on New Years Eve, started by our dog counter surfing and turning on a halogen stove with a tea towel on it).
I had to get insurance information for the fire department, so wh...ile they put the fire out, I had to talk to Allianz. The person I spoke to was AMAZING! He could tell I was in shock, he was reassuring, he was confident, he knew his job. Allianz had insurance adjusters out to our house within 2 hours. We were put up in a hotel for just over 6 months, they never quibbled over a single claim, Allianz were in a word, just amazing. I would never change companies, as a result of our treatment, our entire family changed to Allianz and have never had an issue. Truthfully, it was the most traumatic moment of our lives and Allianz did nothing but prove to me that by signing with them, I was in safe hands.
I recently made a claim under my home & contents insurance and I cannot fault Allianz’s claims process. At a time of probably the highest number of claims due to severe weather & bush fire claims they processed my contents claim quickly with limited fuss. After providing them with all the documents they required i had my claim settled in 24 hours. I’m so grateful to have insurance with an organization that understands their customers needs when it matters most.

Policy seems good, easy to attain, but never claimed on home or contents. Car, yes - twice.
Been with them a few years now, all good so far.
Hope they don't let me down if I do need to claim! There seem to be a few fake reviews here, grrr.
Allianz breach privacy nor do they call back
Do not trust Allianz insurance, they have breached my privacy sharing our settlement value with those who caused the water damage only for those they shared with to try blackmail us. The company that was hired by landlord then shares other information with Allianz, wonder if that was they did not do as were order to do by courts. Allianz were the biggest offenders when it comes to insurance companies as Royal commission did its hearing and stay tuned as soon it will be on every review and social media site. Once you read what was found they wer...e in fact doing i bet all insured with Allianz will run for the hills. Customer service is the worst they ignore customers urgent matters & do not care if it kills a person more so 1 named Julie from customer care. Stay away people there is other insurances that run circles around these clowns and there circus of thieves. Feel for all those storm and fire effected people insured with these thieves they have proven to be. oh they do not care my life support equipment has failed due to problem not been fixed correctly as there covering up there corrupt trades who did not do as court order stated, have proof of this, thanks for killing me Allianz more Julie as only have 24 hours before hypoxia kicks in.

It can't be worse than this!!!
I live in Gold Coast and I want to share this terrible experience with Allianz with everyone in the world.
On 18 January 2020, we had rain of 254.8mm in one day.
The Master bedroom ceiling collapsed and I made claim with Allianz Insurance.
Water was still leaking after one month from the incident; Allianz is not fixing this until they have to review the claim report.
Two inspection has been made and after one month later, "your loss is unfortunately not covered by the policy due to a going maintenance issue.
My house never had a leaking problem before and I have a Building inspection report to prove it.
I cancelled my contents policy within 5 days - incompetent customer service & foreign call centers - no one cares.
I cancelled my contents policy so soon after purchasing it because after my initial experiences with Allianz I would have no faith that Allianz would either pay out a claim or make the process simple.
My experiences within 5 days included:
1. When signing up, the phone operator incorrectly advised me that I did not need to list my laptop worth $2,100 as a ‘Specified Item’ under the general contents policy. I advised the operator that I had the PDS document in front of me which stated the maximum amount of coverage was $1,500 for a laptop, and...
Zero care factor
Worst insurance company that I've ever dealt with. Rude, condescending customer service people, zero care factor towards the customer. Been waiting more than three weeks for my house to get assessed and have rain / hail damaged looked at and fixed. Emails and calls not being returned. Never again will I take a policy with them.
Warning do not insure with this company
10 months waiting for storm damage repairs, they sent multiple builders for quotes, alliance chose the cheapest quote, half way through repairs . Builder disappeared and they cash settled us the rest of a cheap quote, the work they had carried out was very poor leaving us to rectify, after a few months of our complaints they decided to cancel our policy, after years of us paying premiums to them, run a mile from alliance they are absolute rubbish!!!
Less than impressed
A home and contents policy i had raken out was put under another name, upon bringing the error up with them i was told the issue would be rectified within 48 hours, it has now been 3 weeks to the day and i eang back to enquire only to be told that i would be contacted in the next 24 to 48 hours
They cancelled my policy without send me an email text or registered post
Not only they stop our insurance policy after a claim that didn't go through, after 3 month of seeing no payments they restarted my policy and backcharged these 3 months.
I found out 9 month later about this and call them back to get refund. After a battle they ended up refunding the 3 month + the 9 month if i cancel my pilicy and renew it.
They probably renewed my policy the wrong way.
If i didnt notice it and my house burnt i would have lost everything with a mortgage to pay despite paying them 100 a month.
So unprofessional, arrogant and misleading.
Saved $1361 compared to RACV
I have just changed insurance companies for the second time in two years and have saved over $2000 with these changes. AAMI wanted to increase our premium by a whopping 21.3% for home and contents insurance beginning in mid-Jan 2020. We got annual online quotes from the following companies, for the identical amounts and specified items:
RACV: $3406, the dearest
AAMI : $3343, for renewal of our current policy
APIA: $3302 , so much for being cheaper if you are over 50!
Allianz/over 50's: $1982. And we went with them, despite their poor reviews...
lying and very difficult to deal with
I made a claim on my garage ceiling collapsing, one person from Allianz says one thing and another person says no that's incorrect and all over the shop. I even got my own external plasterer to assess the ceiling and even he explained how its from storm damage, he said he deals with garage ceilings all the time.
Their external assessor is uneducated and contradicting and their reviews are also very poor, never heard back from Allianz internal review team and just didn't want anything to do with me. They make it drag on and on and got sick of wasting my time on the phone getting no where.
I even sent my own photos and proof of damage after external assessor sent blurry photos and still didn't want anything to do with me.
Will be cancelling all policies
They take my premiums no worries! When I try to make a claim I am met with many hoops to jump through, catches and delays. Too ard to deal with
DO NOT INSURE WITH ALLIANZ
We have had nothing but issues with this insurer. The building inspection report actually made up an issue that was wrong (bathroom screen not sealed and was water leaking) - when I took my own video to disprove this statement, nothing was done or said about this false reporting. Don't bother with this company. Take it from me, go with someone else.
Renew my policy without my approval
I already move my home insurance to other provider, but Allianz still direct debit my monthly payment from my bank account, I rang up and they still wanna charged me extra $20 dollars for cancellation. They so desperate with that $20 I wouldnt
trust them when I need to claim something from them.

wow no idea been with them 3 yrs never made a claim but all insurance companies have fault none perfect
Yes I probably would have thought that as well and have been with them 30 years. Was broken into 6 weeks ago and every single time I have called I’ve been on hold at least two hours . They are yet to reply to my claim via email and phone. Feel so ripped off and want to change companies but our claim is still outstanding. Change your cover because you probably aren’t !!
