I contacted Allianz to obtain a quote for home and contents insurance. The representative, [Name Removed], spent a considerable amount of time gathering detailed information and advised that the quote would be emailed to me after our conversation. Three days later, I had still not received anything, so I followed up. To my disappointment, I was… Read more
informed that there was no pending quote in the system and that I would need to provide all my details again if I wanted a quote.
The most frustrating part was the amount of time spent on the initial call, only to find out that no quote had been processed. I had even provided positive feedback in the survey based on the service during the call, but unfortunately the promised quote never arrived.
I had a very heartbreaking experience after a tenant left my house like a crime scene. The punch hole in the bathroom door was consistent with the entire house which was a wreck. The floor boards pulled up and replaced with cheap broken board with holes throughout in the front bedroom, and other parts of the house, is another obvious example of… Read more
the malicious damage caused. Yet Allianz treated me coldly despite the video walk through and close up photos- all time stamped. The front door lock broken and whole house left open for days after the tenant left, not even secured by the agent who hid the damage for she knew it would reflect on her. Allianz refused this obviously strong claim. Pure evil!! I’m a nervous wreck- especially due to the drawn out painful process that i went through trying to make a claim and being treated so badly by Allianz
Don't waste your money! 10 years of insurance premiums down the drain. No claims for 10 years and when I went to claim it has been denied due to unjustifiable reasons, won't even supply the builders report when requested. Cheap for a reason, poor service, poor communication and not willing to cover when required. Show details

I only ever post a public review like this when the company has no desire to offer basic customer service and when I experience what i feel is unethical conduct. Terrible experience with claim and would give zero stars if it was possible. Cheap junk insurance which explains why they’re cheaper than others. Case has been open for four MONTHS and… Read more
they have created further damage to the home whilst exploring the source of leak. They offered a measly payout that is probably a third of the cost of the damage and barely covers the damage they caused let alone the damage that is covered under the policy due to the leak. A hassle now to hold them to account with Insurance Ombudsman. Staff on phone are polite but spiteful when you try to explain in a rational and polite way why their conduct is unethical- i mentioned escalating this and the lady immediately retracted her offer to have a builder look to make repairs which further reinforced my observation that they are petty and spiteful. I won’t post names as I know their job is to keep costs down for the insurer regardless of their obligation but it’s been a really stressful experience. There is now a hole in my lounge room wall made by them in their search for the leak. It has been there for four months now, multiple calls and emails and no further down the road to an appropriate solution. Multiple (3) tradespeople unable to find leak initially and they tried to close the case. A complaint led to a fourth person coming out who miraculously found the leak and extensive damage across two floors. Spoke to insurer who said they didn’t know if the builder would take on the work and instead offered a measly cash payout that does not cover the damage by a longshot. Am now in process of seeking out other insurance for home and car as this is the single worst experience I’ve had with any insurer in Australia. Thanks Allianz for the hole in my lounge room ceiling you left and the complete lack of accountability with this claim. It’s a wonder you’re allowed to remain in business but I guess there are lots of first time customers who don’t know what they’re getting into or have not had to make a claim yet.
Require full excess amount for one small window pane! It seems Allianz do their level best to avoid paying out. Didn't forget to increase our premium by 32% though did you guys? Show details
We are having a very frustrating, disappointing, unsatisfying experience with Allianz regarding our claim. We lodged a claim for the damages caused by a bathroom pipe leakage in early Jan 2025. It’s now almost half a year the repair works arranged by Allianz haven’t been completed yet. Throughout the process Allianz denies the damages to the… Read more
bathroom being claimable although the restoration team appointed by them saying that damages are valid and should be covered by the claim. With the claimable damages of the adjoining bedroom, they managed to not get the works done within 5 months, despite countless calls and follow ups initiated by us. Allianz is very very inefficient!!! More dramatically, finally when the builder appointed by Allianz were close to completing the repair works the builder went into liquidation, leaving only one day's worth of works unfinished and delayed. We have contacted both Allianz and their newly appointed builder Townsend Building Services multiple times to get an update but were told that there is no update and that they can’t do anything to fast track the minor works remaining to help us get through our unfortunate situation. Both Allianz and Townsend Building Services didn’t keep to their words. Allianz told us that we would be contacted by them within 7 business days, but nothing has happened. Townsend Building Services told us that we would be contacted by this Wednesday, but also nothing has happened. DO NOT use Allianz because your money will be better off even if you throw them into rubbish bins.
Our experience with Allianz has been appalling. Despite clear and undeniable damage, their entire team of “experts” claimed there was no evidence of water intrusion. But the attached photos tell a very different story — and I invite you to judge for yourself. Allianz relied on a chain of so-called “independent” experts, all connected through the… Read more
same tight circle: the builder engages the restorer (a sister company), the restorer brings in the environmental “professional” (and I use that word very loosely), and so on — many of whom have previously worked together or under the same parent companies.
This isn’t independent assessment — it’s manufactured consensus. The reports don’t just share conclusions — they share identical wording, revealing just how coordinated the responses were. Worse still, in our case, some reports weren’t even sent directly to Allianz. Instead, they were filtered through the builder, who received and reviewed them before preparing their own report — allowing them to shape the narrative.
We later confirmed that the environmental assessor had access to all prior reports before writing their “independent” findings. How can any of this be trusted as impartial when the entire process was choreographed behind the scenes?
One contractor claimed to have conducted a full inspection that we later proved never happened. Yet Allianz relied on this false report and refused to look at the evidence we supplied to show it was false. When confronted with video and audio evidence showing the truth, Allianz didn’t investigate or apologise — they simply tried to settle the claim quietly and walk away, asking for confidentiality but still insisting they assessed the claim correctly and made the right decision to deny the claim.........
The process dragged out for months. The pattern was clear: delay, deny, and defend — no matter the evidence. We had to fight for every step, while Allianz did everything in their power to downplay, discredit, or outright ignore the truth.
If you’re considering insuring with Allianz, think twice. When things go wrong, you won’t be met with support — you’ll be met with resistance, lies, and silence.
Now proceeding through the courts to expose everything and hold then accountable.

do not use them, they do not do what they promise – Please do not use them as insurance for your valued property. They lack integrity and they do not do what they claim. Allianz's policy states they pay for investigative work. We had a water leak under the tiles and the escape water was undermining the dirt under the house. We called a plumber to find the leak and repair it to eliminate any further… Read more
damage. The plumber had to remove some tile (some broke in the process) break the concrete to access the broken pipe and repair it. Allianz refused to accept the claim stating the plumber damaged the tiles, jackhammered the concrete, and dug a hole app 500 mm deep to access and repair the pipe, I am not sure how the plumber would have investigated where the leak was otherwise. Allianz offered us $250 for being a customer for 10 years. I refused the offer because the cost is over $2500 for repair and reinstatement. they closed the case and stopped all communication with us. Interestingly when I asked for their engineer report and plumbers report who visited our site, they sent us other customers' information on 2 occasions. Where is their customer's privacy is, When I asked how many other customers received our private information they did not reply.

The month after, they increase my membership fee by 40% and the justification is (you lodged a claim, so you're not entitled to the no-claim bonus), despite the fact that I didn't get paid anything and they said regardless, whether you get paid or not, we'll have to increase your membership fee for lodging a claim. To put into perspective, the new membership fee was more than double what I'm paying now with another provider. Not to mention being on hold for over 30mins to speak to someone. Every time I reached out, I felt Ignored and undervalued. My claim has been finalised which took over six months. This entire process was draw out, stressful and completely mismanaged. After this emotional, traumatic experience I cannot recommend Allianz especially if you value your time and your sanity. I strongly suggest you look elsewhere for a more empathetic reliable insurer that delivers a professional service instead of frustrating delays.
Follow-up · Delays were ongoing due to poor workmanship and difficulty in contacting Allianz. Apparently emails can take up to a few weeks to get read. Our excess was clearly stated in our policy. We should have received temporary accommodation on and for a few days after the fire. This was never offered.

We got our first Allianz insurance policy for our car as we price shopped between the major companies. When we had a no fault accident and my husband had been taken to hospital, they were amazing. On Fri 11 April I walked in to Allianz Australia Insurance at 555 Collins Street Melbourne. I was met with a beaming genuine smile by a receptionist called Natasha. except her. I ranted and raved, as I needed to pay my overdue home insurance, as I was uninsured as my last payment had been rejected. Natasha, way outside her prescribed duties, asked what I required, then looked up the phone number, then helped me with paying my insurance over the phone. I complained about having to enter my credit card details twice, but when I went to enter my details for the second time the phone person said the payment was complete. Unbeknownst to me, Natasha had used my credit card on the desk and my phone to complete the transaction for me. Natasha then asked if I wanted to deal with my 3 car insurance policies. I waved her away, as I was exhausted, but full credit to Natasha for tenacity.
Natasha had not only greeted an elderly customer in a courteous, genuine and friendly manner, she had gone that extra mile to effect real change for a customer. Well done Natasha.

If I could give the 0 stars, I would!!! they agree to come back and oh what do they find, a lot more areas with evident water damage. We have been waiting over 6 months now and still no closer to any works being done. They try and deny everything they can to cut costs with their payout, don’t call back when they say they will, and when you show just a tiny bit of frustration in the phone to them, they hang up on you. Our home is currently a hazard waiting to happen, areas of our floorboards are still exposed due to partial removal efforts, we have exposed timber where they have cut our walls apart, and when you send them written justification from a licensed builder explaining why parts of the house need to be repaired, they insinuate you are just pushing for renovations in your house. Honestly would not recommend Allianz to anyone! Horrible company with no ethical care for their customers
Poor service, never get back to you when they say they will. Have to constantly call to always be told we will call you back but they never do. Waiting for electricity to be fixed and it's been over 6 months. Complaints department is just as bad. Stay well away not worth the hassle and stress and time constantly following them up and then giving false deadlines. Claim still not resolved and we've had no solar or air conditioning for over 6 months Show details

an individual. A business is not a legal entity and is not able to own property. Enquired why a business number is mandatory for the policy, rather than a company number. Was advised that in order to take out a policy, there must be an ABN. However, in addition to the fact that a business is not a legal entity and cannot own property, having an ABN creates other tax obligations, such as the need to submit quarterly business activity statements (BAS). Was advised that there is no ability for a trust or a company to purchase insurance, unless they have an ABN. I stated that this is clearly an error and is potentially seeing Allianz miss out on many customers who own property in the name of a company or a trust.

Can we choose Zero? Incompetent and appalling. Normal companies provide an option to send forms via email or snail mail. Not this mob. Allianz's landlord insurance doesn't cover for accidental damages from tenants. I paid the insurance for maybe 10 years and luckily only got one nasty tenant now. incompetent contractors that do not follow safety standards, or building code. Workers are aggressive, arrogant, gaslighting, harassing and play the system to their benefit. The workers do not follow the laws/rules on handling and disposing of asbestos. They use unqualified, inexperienced, or underaged labor. The workers/contractors claim you are racist if you complain and try to hold them to the Australian standards set by law. The workers do everything possible to make you yell at them to leave - because if you do that Alliance can (lawfully) wiggle out of fixing your property. ceiling,
We were extremely disappointed with the way they investigated the claim.
They did do some tests amongst them a pressure check and tests to ensure not from shower base or shower fittings or burst pipes. They removed the shower arm to investigate the leak and did not put it back properly, when we contacted then about the now leaking shower arm that they caused, they said they would send a plumber out. A plumber contacted us months later, by then we had started renovating our bathroom.
Ethos/Insight (Allianz repair company) came back a second time, assured us that they were going to cut into the ceiling, remove the part of the ceiling that was damaged and gain access to the underneath bathroom floor to investigate the leak. They put plastic and marked with tape the sections to cut out They told us that they will enclose the area that they cut, to seal it off. We were asked to move the furniture to enable this, which we did. When they left we were told that further investigation would occur, the ceiling would be cut and repaired, they never returned, instead they closed the claim. Sections of our ceiling had the plastic and masking tape that their repair company put on it. They never came back.
Their report says “Insight gained access to the ceiling cavity to carry out an internal assessment” Laughably, they merely loosened a downstair downlight and peered through. That is how they partly assessed our claim by peering through a loosened downlight. They never found the cause of the leak decisively, they tried guessing at the possible causes. We found the cause during our bathroom renovation.
Having listened to other friends who have had similar problems, the insurer has cut into the ceiling to investigate and then fixed the ceiling and ensured that there was no mould in the ceiling cavity.
We decided to renovate our bathroom, as it was never originally waterproofed. The floor was totally unmarked where Allianz incorrectly said water ingress had occurred through missing grout. We unnecessarily fixed and sealed the grout before the renovation., so that the problem wouldn’t worsen.
We are renovating our bathroom now. We do not expect Allianz to cover the bathroom renovation but at the very least we expected Allianz to have found the leak and fix our ceiling as verbally promised. We have been left to remove thier tape and plastic and repair it ourselves and seal and paint where their tape took our paint off.
Our experience was just like another reviewer, they just pass the problem onto another department and it goes from department to department and they finally refuse the claim. They did nothing for us, they just caused us more work and delay,
