Kogan Home & Contents Insurance

I have had home and contents insurance with Kogan for the last two years. Very happy' BE WARNED. Kogan was underwritten by QBE insurance, a company with good reviews. Kogan has changed their provider to Allianz insurance. My renewal notice has increased dramatically. I will be going directly to QBE. Show details

Very easy website to negotiate, it took very little time to get a very comprehensive quote that covered so much more than my current policy which was due for renewal. The best part was it was a third of the price that Budget Direct my current insurance company wanted me to pay! It pays to shop around. Show details ·  1

Sign up is easy- I wish more product reviews covered claims experiences for insurance companies- signing up experience is not worth much if your claim is denied or difficult to navigate. Show details ·  1

Overall I'm not a fan of Kogan however this home & Contents insurance is effectively QBE being a well know trusted insurance company and exactly the same policy purchasing via Kogan was several hundred dollars less than buying it from QBE. I recently tried to insure my new house with Kogan and reached out to their customer service. At first, the interaction was very pleasant and welcoming. They took all of my details and assured me that because it's a new development, I would receive a follow-up call within 3 business days. Easy house insurance – Easy and competitive. The insurance calculates demolition and rebuild costs bust on current building description and also calculates contents. Also covers all the key risks such as earthquake, flood, fire, theft. Not sea level rise, storm events but I don't live near the sea. Show details ·  1

Good application process and good value so far – Application process was quick and easy, and the quoted amount is best value compared to other insurers I received quotes from. Haven't obviously made a claim yet as only new, and I cant see any other reviews where a claim was made, so fingers crossed that if I do need to make a claim at any point that they are not impossible to deal with Show details ·  1

Easy comprehensive home contents insurance signup – Underwritten by QBE who have much better reviews than other providers. We haven't had to claim anything on contents insurance yet but this does appear to be a solid product enhanced by upgradeable options like accidental damage and portable away-from-home protection. Show details ·  1

Used the online quote facility only – Best one so far today - and I've used a few - nice interface - appropriate questions asked at the correct time - BUT I can't seriously afford the quote when it includes the safeguard benefit - viz To avoid being underinsured with sum-insured cover, insurer offers a 'safeguard' or 'safety net'. This means they add up to 30% to your sum-insured amount in the event of a total loss. Show details
