Worst Insurer Ever
Our house was flooded in the recent storms. Water was so high outside it was coming through the walls which later created black mould which You sent people out to rip out. We have holes all through our house. They later refused to insure it. Said the house was too old and didn't meet modern day housing codes. Never insure with these people. They aren't fixing anything even after ripping our house apart.

Relieved to be covered after an oversight on my part
I have now had the policy for a day and breath a sight of relief to be covered by a policy I hope I won't have to use. I was helped by a two different customer servicee people who were very helpful and patient with my questions. All was mailed to me but I did not see until I left a message and noticed Dani had already completed all yesterday. Thank you
Youi, we get you! Well you lost me
Was looking for house insurance, after about 10min spend in Q and another 5 wasted with the operator, to get told that they can't cover me because... I'm to close to the "sea". Closest beach or creek is 7km away according to google maps (WTH?)
I have been a YOUI customer for quite a while now with various policies. I had changed my contents insurance to another provider a few years ago because they were cheaper. I received my yearly renewal and found it had increased by roughly $140pa from last year so decided to see what YOUI would cost. From beginning to end of the phone conversation ie from quote to acceptance the YOUI consultant, Ruth was amazingly helpful and knowledgeable. Very happy to have all my policies in the one place and bonus saving roughly $300 a year.

Fraud! Refuses Storm damaging by citing poor workmanship on a council approved property
Do not take insurance with YOUI. They do not cover natural calamities and try to refuse your claim by citing poor workmanship, even though its caused by storm. They do not make you aware at the time of selling you the policy. If you dispute the claim citing incorrect reason, they find a new reason to reject your claim. In the end, they simply want to refuse your claim.
I have over 7 policies with Youi costing around $6500 per year. Our house had water coming through the walls, roof & floors in the recent storms. This caused all sorts of damage. The Youi assessor came out and said we have an old house that doesn't meet up with todays building standards. The pitch of the roof is wrong etc. I wonder if it burnt down whether it would be insured because of the pitched roof or it had old wiring. The roof looks normal to me. House has never leaked before. Waste of money. Why do we pay these leeches. It will cost them in the end because I'm changing all my polices to another insurer.
AVOID Youi insurance - they aim to never pay out!
I felt I had reasonable landlord insurance all these years, but in the first claim I've ever had to make due to a ceiling partially collapsing, under what should be "accidental damage", I've been told it will not be covered.. Even though their assessor said he recommends pulling the entire ceilings down & renewing the plaster throughout, this professional opinion has been pushed aside.
It's taken 2 weeks to get this information, we helped the tenants move into emergency accomodation & I wasn't even claiming for any of those costs, just need t...he ceiling repaired ASAP!.. And to rub salt in the wound, they sent an email with a report to demand we fix the damage ourselves promptly, to ensure we are complying with maintaining OUR obligations under the terms of their insurance policy?!.. WHY are we paying insurance if they won't even maintain THEIR obligations to customers??? Oh I keep forgetting - ALL insurance companies are only in it for profit, screw the people who pay them faithfully every month!.. Goodbye Youi - you can also say hello shortly to the QBCC & AFCA, whom I will be engaging with to investigate the outcome of this claim. If anyone else has trouble with their claims, keep following up via any external channels or complaints groups in your state, to chase these slap happy insurers down... Best wishes to all those who have been sadly affected by fires & floods, may you all have your claims paid & be looked after.
Terrible company, from the start they don't want to pay.
Please, choose a different company. I've been with youi for a while now, when I made a claim, from the start they tried to find ways to get out of paying. The point of having insurance is so you don't have to stress about things happening. I wish I chose a more reputable company. I've paid every month, even after the incident, to not be covered. Thank you youi for taking my money, and screwing me over.

Absolute rip off
Currently with NRMA insurance paying $1700.00 per annum got a quote from YOUI to be told the premium would be $9000.00 per annum. Their adds quote that they are saving everyday Australians money on their insurance. Not sure what they are doing.
Just changed to Youi for Home and Contents, after having a vehicle with them for a few years.
Had a car claim with Youi a few years back and raved about how easy they made it. I've just changed my home and contents policy to them, and saved $520.00! I read all the Product Disclosure Statement and compared to my current provider, and was satisfied I wasn't going backwards in cover. Got 20% saving on due to vehicle being insured at the same address.

Hi Libby D. Main reason for insuring my contents with Youi (for the first time) was a recommendation from Choice magazine (May 2019 issue). Youi were competitive on price and received a good rating (80/100) in the "complaints" category. I can't comment about car insurance but I'll be considering them.
