compassionate and reassuring from day 1. He provided everything he promised quickly and efficiently, and went over and above to make sure we were satisfied with every step of the recovery process. Every other shack in our area (20 + shacks) are still waiting on their insurers to resolve and settle their claims!. Sean has totally restored our faith with this insurer. One thing that really stood out for me, was how they showed genuine compassion. Whether through the regular calls from Hannah at the office in claims, or Haydon the assessor. Every step through what was a very difficult and emotional experience, was handled by their team with the greatest care. I've attached one such example, where Youi provided for bright blue shade cloth to cover the fencing around the house prior to demolition. Why? Because I was scared the injured kangaroos I'd hand raised, who were already highly stressed, might injure themselves further on the fence. Youi worked with me, to ensure I was a happy customer (as happy as I could be under the circumstances anyway).

If you are unlucky enough to lose your home, Youi's policy provides for 20% of the insured sum to cover demolition and removal and trust me, you WANT that. Many insurance companies only have 10% cover. Read your fine print folks. On the negative side, Youi's home insurance is pretty standard and won't cover things like fencing or water tanks (thank you to all who donated to Red Cross for helping me buy new water tanks), but in my experience, I still think I'm a winner being insured with a company who not only follow through on their policy promises, but do it with kindness, compassion and understanding. THANK YOU YOUI.

P.S. Get a valuation done on your home and ASK THEM what it would cost to build it again now to current standards. Then add 10% to help cover things like DA Applications and all the other hidden costs. Do the same with your contents. When you calculate it, you're probably only thinking of big ticket items, but when you have to purchase absolutely every single thing for a home, all those small items add up. Many of us are underinsured and an insurance company can only pay you for what you've covered for.

I'm so thankful I was insured with Youi when this disaster happened. So many properties weren't cleared until June/July when I was way ahead and already getting my new build approved by then. Thanks Youi and BIG BIG thanks to Hannah and Haydon.

Huge annual premium increases... Lies and massive corporate profits. While they say that the cost of claims is increasing, their annual reports show their "operating profit more than doubled on account of favorable weather conditions" and "strong premium growth". While they say they value transparency and honesty, my experience has been the opposite. Show details

tree would almost inevitably fall onto my house, cause extensive damage, and ultimately cost Youi far more than the sum of my original claim, had it been honoured. A compassionate and lateral-thinking claims advisor actually suggested that I escalate my case to a complaint. Youi came to the party and made a goodwill payment that covered the costly removal of the tree, less my excess. They could have simply denied my claim, and I would have grudgingly accepted it. This kind of customer-first service is almost unheard of. I cannot recommend this company too highly. Every person I have dealt with (Chanel, Madison, Gill, Kelsey) has been exemplary. To all Youi employees, you can hold your head high and feel proud to be working for a company with great values.

I have just cancelled our home & contents police which we held for 4 years. were. When taking out the policy I remember spending a long time on the phone with the gentleman and explained in detail what we required in our insurance. What a waste of time and money that was. So, in the last 4 years we have paid roughly $15,000 without claim. The attitude today when I asked why the policy does not have our requiements listed and why wer are not covered for our specifi needs I was put on multiple holds and got little explanation, no aplogies, nothing really except apathy. I asked to cancel the policy immediately and they did not argue, did not try to figure out how to keep us as customers just put me thru to the cancellations department. BE VERY WARY when dealing with Youi. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING every year and review it all carefully every year as they change their policies, chanrge you more each year and give you less cover! After many phonecalls with them, their "gimmick" is their over frendliness - I was called 'lovely' 1/2 a dozen times by one person and other non-professional terms by others - not professional at all. Cancelled today, gone to Allianz for $1200 per year less!

Getting a Youi Quote for Contents Insurance Unlike most insurance companies, you cannot complete a quote online without an agent calling you back. I found the agent personable and polite, but the process was repetitive and time-consuming. I had to repeat all the information I had already submitted online. For me, this process was a waste of time. Eventually I was so annoyed at their process I terminated the call and went elsewhere. Show details

I've been gathering email quotes so I can assess all my options at once and without pressure. After entering all info Youi wouldn't show me a quote, but instead I immediately received a call and was then asked to provide all my personal details. I gave up after a few minutes because it was clear they were going to ask me all the same questions I had just provided online. Youi staff were excellent and without even asking reduced our car insurance that we already had with them. Very impressed. an email this morning asking me to complete my purchase of the policy. I got an almost identical policy from another insurer for $182 a month!!! Have emailed Youi, telling them to not contact me again, but they have a track record of harassing people, so I expect more emails or phone calls. Keep away from this company!!

above sea level, on the top of a hill. The nearest CREEK is 60 metres below us. I always opt out of flood cover, because it's not relevant to our area, but now it is. My neighbour is insured with them, but I got declined. Never, repeat never have I had a claim in 45 years. That's OK, I just made my yearly donation to Australian Seniors. Absolute fools!!

Tried to get a quote on line and had to endure 30 minutes of faffing about where the salesperson asked me stuff I had already answered. After getting annoyed at the time wasting I pressed for a quote and received one that was well over 50% more than our current insurer. Waste of time. Btw I didn't take out insurance but I had to answer questions regarding the type of insurance. Show details
