Pretty good until it wasnt – Had mine for two years. For the price it was ok. 45 day battery life. Only issue was pairing with phone constantly dropped out. Then one day the face fell off without notice and that was it. Show details
Great watch at price point – Had the watch for >2yrs and for the money, extremely happy with my purchase. Pro Battery life Good functionality for money Easy to use app Strava syncing Light and comfortable Easy to read screen Cons Occasional sync issues with app on iPhone Initially GPS can be slow Not particularly attractive I can’t comment on the accuracy of the data ie: heart rate and sleep mode as haven’t benchmarked against other watches. Faulty product unable to return or refund – Faulty product unable to return or refund. Amazfit watch bought from Techinn lasted three months. Neither Techinn or Amazfit will process a return, repair or refund. Steer clear of both of these companies, spend the extra money to buy from reputable sellers. Show details
the worst Customer service – I purchased an Amazfit bip watch from Adorama in May. I had problems charging the watch when I received it. I finally got it to fully charge and started wearing it. The charge lasted approx. 3 days. Now my watch will only charge to 98% and drains to 50% or below within 3 to 4 hours. I contacted Amazfit and they referred me to Adorama, the… Read more
seller, who referred me back to Amazfit, stating their warranty is only 30 days, but my watch is still under warranty with the manufacturer. I again contacted Amazfit, they have no phone number listed, only email. I included the watch ID, model and S/N and a copy of my invoice. Amazfit apparently didn't actually read my email, as they asked for my S/N and referred me back to the seller. To date, my issue has not been resolved, I am still being handed off between the manufacturer and the seller. If this actually gets resolved, I may change my review, but at this point, I would say if you are considering buying this or any Amazfit watch, hope there are no problems with it, otherwise, you may have wasted your money.
Do not buy these products!!! Display disappeared after 4 month; Amazfit declined Warranty – Initially, it looked like a good product; however, after four months of normal usage, display colors started fading and then disappeared almost entirely. Amazfit refused to respect its 12 month warranty and fix/replace the product. Be aware if you consider buying smartwatches from this brand!!! Show details
Fitness watch – Pros- HUGE battery life - close to 30 days GPS App Notifications Supports ios and android Number of watch face Right size and good design Cons- Cannot receive the calls ( though you can disconnect the calls through the watch) Not a smart watch Show details
great watch – the watch is great and have found no problems with it at all except every now and then I forget to take it of at night because I feel that I could damage it but fantastic wearable good looking and style amazing Show details
No Strava unless – I don’t know many runners that don’t use Strava, the recommended mi fit app will not let you upload to Strava. The only way you can is to find an alternative app and then In my case I lost accuracy in time and an inability to track heart rate. If this is not a problem to you then it’s pretty good, in my case it’s bit of a let down. I can’t imagine why they don’t make this easier, it’s a no brainer. Show details
OK till it fails – I have had the Amazfit Bip for a couple of months and was quite happy with it. Then suddenly, it hung on the Activity screen with a 'Suspended' message. I tried to revive it with everything but the kitchen sink, looking up the problem on the Net, pressing button a million times - nothing would bring the watch back to life. Only by letting the… Read more
battery run flat - it took two days - could I get the watch working again. That's not good enough for an everyday item . A simple reset button/utility would have solved the problem.....
Incredible watch and very low cost – Can't believe this Amazfit bit watch is so good and for just $99. I have had 3 Fitbit watches, much dearer, all failed (1 replaced in warranty for plastic peeling, the replacement also peeled after 10 months). The next one just stopped working after about 11 months. This Amazfit bit graphs my course on a map, plots continuous heart beat,… Read more
elevation in meters, steps, distance and more. Shows latitude and longitude if needed, warns of phone calls, shows messages and would you believe last up to 45 days before recharging. I generally charge at about 15% which would be more than a week left. Also has standard 18mm band connection so I can replace bands, with any standard fit. Has replaceable coloured case overlays from the internet ( match you clothes). It is so light you forget you have it on. Highly recommended especially at the price.
Beyond the best everyday fitness watch – You may be asking why this is "beyond the best everyday fitness watch" well I will tell you why; 1. Battery life - you only need to charge it once every 20-30 days, most fitness watches may say that it can get up to 15 days but this watch may get up to 30 days, the screen is ALWAYS ON so it acts as a normal functioning digital watch (or analogue… Read more
depending on what watch face you pick) and it is not joke because I don't worry about charging my watch ever because I don't have to do that regularly, which means I can get sleep tracking whereas a lot of other watches have those capabilities but not the battery life to do so, eg: Apple watch. 2. Watch faces - Now the screen isn't meant to be the most beautiful thing ever (it is definitely not an oled screen) but there is a huge library of watch faces you can use to customise your watch to fully be yours and to customise in accordance to your needs (you want 12 hr format? you got it, you want 24 hr format? you got that too. do you want to see your steps, weather today's date when you look at the watch? they have all of that too! It has also never been so easy to customise the watch's face as you can easily download an app that is compatible with the watch and browse the internet for watch faces, and from that app, you can easily download and install the watch face onto your watch, all on your phone. 3. Phone dependancy - You'd think that a smart watch is great because it can act as a phone, unless you're travelling a lot and you need a smart watch's capabilities for a sim card, you don't really need your watch as another phone. You have your phone to do that so let your phone, well, be a phone. The watch is dependant on setting up with your phone where it comes to the time, weather and to push information such as workouts and sleep tracking. The Mi app is slick and functions well and is easy to navigate so it is appropriate for all ages. 4. Functions - There isn't a whole lot of functions if you compare it to the high end smart watches as they are for a different overall experience, the Amazfit Bip has basic functions that doesn't make me particularly miss the higher end watches, the functions the Bip includes are notification push and being able to limitedly customise from what apps, built in Glonass GPS so you can take it out for a run without your phone, alarms, timers and heart tracking. 5. Price - And lastly and actually, the least is the price! Its low price makes it unbelievable that this small piece of tech packs in such great value and a better quality of life. At $100 you will not be disappointed!
Very practical step counter and watch – Bought this tracker 6 months ago in Aug 2018. Wasn't looking for a smartwatch overloaded with features, just something easy to use. It meets all my requirements: - don't have to charge it every 1~3 days (it lasts 7 weeks between charges, with gps & messages off) - flexibility to change watch faces (there are thousands available from fan base,… Read more
mostly free) - not too expensive (can buy for under $A100) - easy/cheap to switch watchbands (I bought a 20mm black steel band on eBay for around $A10, matching the black watch face - looks smart. Much easier to put on/take off) - didn't want to feel like I was wearing a clock on my wrist (the Amazfit is quite light and size is not intrusive) - I don't need or want heart rate or gps (which it has), nor NFC (for paywave-type feature), nor the ability to respond to phone calls.
A bonus is the always-on watch face - can see time without jiggling watch to trigger backlight in all but pitch black environments. Even more readable in bright sunlight. The Gorilla glass watch face is good at resisting scratches.
The only thing that disappointed me was the sync software. Forget using Xiaomi's MI Fit app, and stick with the Notify & Fitness app alone.
Great battery life – It's no Apple watch but for the price and the purposes I have for it, it's perfect. I still can't get over how the battery lasts a whole month. Monitors fitness when you turn it on and counts steps continuously. I would recommend purchasing a custom band for it as the rubber one might not look very good. Show details
Find out how Amazfit Bip compares to other Smart Watches / Fitness Trackers
Know better, choose better.
Okay for the price you pay for – I bought this as cheap entry level fitness watch from Xiaomi only pros is goood battery life apart that there is lot of syncing issues and I guess you get what you pay for I got the watch from Kogan for $100. So cant complain its has hear rate monitor and also ability to track your sleep Show details
Great value – I bought my Bip 3 months ago from Kogan and at first I was bit ho hum about it, but switching to the Notify and Fitness app instead of the standard Amazfit app my opinion has been increased 10 fold. I found a much better custom watch face and it works well with my phone. The battery lasts a month and the reminders and updates work really well. … Read more
The heart rate sensor is fairly inaccurate and the included watch faces are poor but there is a huge online following with 100's of free custom mods and watch faces to try.
Useless piece of junk – Tracks activities on the watch then won't sync them with the phone. Known product issue but no action being taken by Amazfit. UI incredibly laggy. Selecting a menu item results in an 8 second wait for that section to open. Sometimes doesn't vibrate for notifications. It's cheap and behaves accordingly. Save your money and buy a quality product instead. Show details
Xiaomi Smartwatch not so smart – This review is for the Xiaomi Amazfit Bip Smartwatch. I've had one for 4 weeks, it cost $95.00 AUD. Likes: Its lightweight and better looking in person than online. The screen is great for sunlight viewing, the more light the better you see it. The accuracy of the stepper is 8 out of 10, the timer & alarm clock are good. The battery life is… Read more
best in class, I get around 1.5 weeks of heavy use.
I like the way it receives texts & phonecalls.
The GPS is 10 out of 10.
The glass is tough, I've knocked it with no damage at all.
The Dislikes:
The band caused me a rash and doesn't breathe. That's easy fixed.
But my biggest gripe is the HRM, it's SO inaccurate. It's inaccurate all the time, even doing the set activities like cycling or walking, when it's reading full time.
I compared it with my Polar S210 HRM with a chest band. These two HRMs use different measuring methods.
At rest the Polar & The Bip usually agree within 5 beats of each other but when exercising the Bip is way out.
The biggest error was over 100 beats out.
I was on a bike maxing out, the Polar read 171 bpm and the Bip only read 58 bpm. (The Polar is accurate)
This happens every time I use it with any activity but even if it's not on an activity it's still way out whilst doing an activity.
The sleep monitor is just as inaccurate too, telling me I had 41 minutes deep sleep when I slept heavy all night.
This happens every night.
So if you want a nice looking watch with a fairly accurate step counter a great GPS and most other functions working this is good value.
But if you want a fitness tracker to track your heart rate, activities or sleep data forget it.
The third party watch faces are difficult to download, I've given up trying to do it.
The different colour trims you can buy on EBay are junk. I bought two, both broke immediately, but even if I could use them the Bip won't fit on it's charger with a trim on.
One last thing, this watch is small so if you're a woman it will not look like a hubcap on your wrist.
I like it very much – As my miband2 screen is dying, I have decided to replace it with a smart watch. But all the smart watches in market are over $300 which I can't afford. Then I found this Amazfit Bip which is just under $100. It shows time, date, steps, heart rate, track activities like jog or walk and even can display weather on the screen. I can read sms and… Read more
messages (whatsapp, Facebook messenger and wechat) from the screen as well. Got alarm and call notification just like other smart watches
The battery life so far is very good as per factory spec it can last up to 45 days. I have been using it for 2 weeks and I still have 66% left with moderate use. (a few 30mins walk session with constant heart rate monitoring and my son just can't stop pressing the night light).
It looks pretty much like the apple watch but it looks ok to me. It's very light as it's made of plastic (that's what I prefer). I bought the black one and I can change the colour by adding an interchangeable protector from ebay for just $1.
Maybe my arm is a bit too thin it doesn't feel as comfortable to wear as the MiBand 2.
The watch face can be changed with 3rd party app. There are so many different watch faces available I think I will take awhile for me to try out all the ones I like
It's really a perfect gadget so far. Hope it will last
