They are just tedious to deal with
Customer service is very sloppy ,It is rare to have any request resolved on first or second contact
Every time you contact them have to explain the same thing over and over
I have been a customer for years but will not renew again, this is because of the customer service with regard to payments I cant imagine what it must be like to make a claim ,They are just tedious to deal with
I have even taken out a small policy with another company to cover legal costs if they get uppity if we have to claim
There are better companies to deal with
Do not use AMP life.
Took premiums for years but do any type of stalling possible to avoid paying out.
Appalling service. After receipt of all information, they make up some other excuse. Better to put your hard earned in the bank at zero percent
Despicable Company ripping off hard working Australians
I am absolutely frustrated, angry and disgusted at the monthly amount of $485 AMP were taking out of the only Superannuation fund I have. I can't afford to make contributions but that didn't worry AMP. Being a mammoth conglomerate they can get away with this type of scam. I now have just over $20k left to retire with which I did plan to do in the next 10 years. I can no longer do that. Thanks AMP I am now living pay to pay and supporting my 2 children. They had me down for 2 x insurance policies I never agreed to and when I contacted them abou...t it, they made me feel like I did the wrong thing by not bringing it to their attention. should they not have detected that they were eating into my money that would eventually dwindle to nothing? I will not be letting this one go.

My father in law had a superannuation fund with AMP for 13 years. This is a poor performing fund who gouge your money on undisclosed fees and insurance products.
My father in-law is an Italian immigrant who has worked in low level labour roles since he arrived in Australia in 1950. He is unable to read or write in English and this has cost him his total life savings for superannuation of $50,000.
He has been working as a labourer in the western suburbs of Melbourne at a fruit shop. AMP since he has joined has gouged every single dollar withou...t notification on life insurance product and only was advised he had ZERO funds in his superannuation fund after the fund sent a letter to him a letter advising him that his superannuation balance was too low to cover the insurance aspect of his superannuation (which he didn't even know he had). He has been paying 2% in 'contribution fees' without ever been advised that he had a financial advisor (who he has Never met or heard of) Please do not be apart of this super fund they have left my father in law in absolute poverty and gouged every dollar without notification. They will do the same to you.
Fees for no service.
I have an AMP life insurance policy which became due for renewal. Beside the name of the insured being wrong (is this so they can get out of paying on a claim), they had listed a financial advisor on the policy. This person is not in the region that I live and is completely unknown to me. After contacting AMP they were unable, or unwilling, to tell me if this unknown advisor was recieving a commission, this is despite the royal commission finding the company guilty of charging fees for no service. AMP refused to let me speak to the complaints d...epartment as they told me that they don't answer their phone. I was told the complaints department would contact me in 7 to 10 days. Not good enough when I have been waiting a week already for an answer on this issue and the policy is due the next day. I guess AMP have enough customers that my premiums do not matter. I guess this is why their share price has taken a nose dive since the Royal commission.
Terrible service from a dishonest company
They have taken unauthorised extra payments from my bank and even though I have proven this with bank statements AMP are refusing to do anything about this. After speaking to at least 6 different people over 3 weeks all I get is lies. Each time I am told that both the case manager and upper level manages are all unavailable and that someone will call me back but they never do. Disgraceful conduct AMP
LIFE INSURANCE POLICY
I have a life insurance policy with AMP for the last 25 years.I have a disability since 2010 and didnt earn any money nor getting any benefits from centrelink because my wife earns $40 a week above thrash hold income.I have a waiver of premium attached to my policy. I have been paying the premium with the help of my son to pay $54 dollars a month since 2010. I strongly believe AMP is very unjust and not doing their job. My dispute is with FOS at the moment and hopefully resolved.
