Dear ARH Team, We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all of you for the care, compassion, and support you showed our beloved Lila for 3 years. A special thank you to Dr Tim Hugo, Nurse Christine, Dr Angela, Intern Nora, the kind Filipina nurse whose name we sadly didn’t catch, and to Receptionists Amy and Brittany. Your kindness… Read more
meant so much to our family.
We are also deeply grateful for the beautiful flowers—they brought comfort and reminded us that Lila was surrounded by people who truly cared.
Today marks one week since Lila passed at 3:55 pm. I’ve attached a short video in her memory to honour her 1-week anniversary.
Thank you for treating Lila with such gentleness and love. We will always remember it.
With sincere gratitude, Adora & family
Forget this animal specialist hospital and go somewhere else. After almost 10 years of trusting this hospital to various pets (cats & dog) of mine I was really disappointed with my recent experience. I took my cat to ARH in good faith a few months ago for the treatment of a serious bowel condition which required long term treatment. I was not… Read more
advised when booking the initial consultation that the specialist was going to take 6 months of leave shortly - because if I was - I would have asked for someone else. The specialist assured me that my cat would receive treatment and care while she was on leave. The hospital advised this week that they are not able to treat my cat any longer because their specialists are too busy - they said to go elsewhere. In addition, each time I called to speak with an intern they gave me the run around, and there was no after care. The experience was very stressful. In summary, they took my money (approx $10k) and then told me to go away without resolving the cats condition - because we are exactly in the same dilemma we were before attending the hospital. My experience was MISLEADING and it was UNETHICAL BEHAVIOUR on the part of the hospital. Don't take your pets there - they don't care about their patients. The hospital is very badly managed.
Great service – Dr Monica and Dr Winny are fantastic. As are Brittany on reception also the lovely young man with the dark curly hair on reception, his name escapes me, they are so helpful and caring. We have had both of our golden retrievers at arh over the last week they have had the best treatment from Dr Monica and Dr Winny . Those who complain about the… Read more
price of treatment here should think about the amount of very well educated and trained team members are there. You don't often see the workings out the back, believe me there are alot of people behind those doors.I have had a pet in the critical care unit, it is as good as in any human hospital. All of this costs money, and also paying wages for people working 24 hours.
Professional, caring & understanding – They looked after my mama cat Tess and her 3 kittens when she developed diarrhoea and became dehydrated. The vet, the vet nurse and the receptionist were all so wonderfully caring and understanding and explained everything to me.
Great Care given – My little Tuppence become seriously ill on Boxing Day. Dr Mark and the team did everything to save his life. No human in hospital could have had more done to save them or be in better hands. Despite every possible treatment over the three days he fought to live, my beautiful little Tuppy passed away. Thank you to all who cared for my Tuppence. xx Yes, they are very expensive.
Very rude and stupid receptionists and nurses - do not go there at all - they just want your money – arh should not be allowed to operate as a vet hospital: - bad staff at the reception desk to start with - no customer service at all - rude and on top of it totally incompetent . I have observed first hand, how they treat a customer bringing in a stray cat (or escaped cat ?) asking them politely to scan the animal for a micro chip. - They told… Read more
this customer they will do a micro chip, which is not what the customer asked them for at all. . They want just to sell any customer 'services' to get money - what a shame and appalling, disgusting you name it attitude or business ethic. . Do not go there - they do not deserve to look after animals at all
ARH - Spirit’s family – I would just like to say that the team at ARH have been fantastic and so caring and our family could not of asked for more! The team at ARH looked after Spirit and gave him the best fighting chance to recover from his surgery! Dr Sarah, Dr Max, Dr Patricia, Dr Corinne and Dr Mark and team thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for… Read more
looking after Spirit. We will never forget the care you gave Spirit and allowing him the precious time to spend with his family at home. This is my first experience with ARH and can truly say I have been so impressed with their emergency service, care for their patients, team and facilities that I recommend this to pet owners who want the best outcome for their pets. Thank-you so much again to Dr Mark who was with us during Spirit’s final hour!
Forever grateful – We have been clients of ARH for over 30 years when any of our pets needed emergency or specialist care. We have always been treated with consideration: treatment, options and costs explained fully. Lately our dog Ash, an epileptic, has required specialist care by Dr Tim Hugo. We have been given detailed information, long and short care pathways… Read more
and kept fully informed throughout Ash's hospital and boarding stays. Ash has also, and continues to, benefit from wonderful care given by ARH's animal attendants, especially Mathew. A fantastic person who is able to lighten an owner's stress by both his reassuring manner and obvious love of his job. His recent photos to us regarding Ash is the first time I've laughed in quite a few weeks. Kat also deserves a mention for her calm, pleasant and professional approach to the animals in her care. Vet nurses, front desk reception and Management have always facilitated our access to immediate emergency help and treatment. Thank you ARH.
Buyer beware , they will take advantage of your emotions and rip you off – They charged $12500 for a emergency GDV operation , which I found out next day could have been done for $1000 by one vet, Or $7000 by another , very rude staff , caused us family issues by undermining my relationship with my daughter with secret phone calls , The Practice manager Carolyn Tonkli would not talk to me on during that time ,. i … Read more
had to write many follow emails, I finally received a phone call a month later . She apologised for the delay but no apology for the way i was treated , or offer to reduce the price to be closer to other hospitals, She just tried to justify their actions because my emotional wife and daughter signed an agreement to save our family pet . I would recommend getting 2 quotes first before going to ARH homebush , and make sure you are someone not vulnerable to being taken advantage of , I wish I read all the bad reviews first , Will not go back there , ever ,
Professional Surgery – I am long term client with ARH Homebush. In October 2021 my dog Jack has had surgery to close dog attack wound on his back. Luckily the wound was not very deep and the hospital was able to debride the non-viable tissue and close the wound. The surgery was done so perfectly and stitches almost not visible. The Highest Standard! The Discharge… Read more
Instructions were very clear and Jack recover well with the prescribed medication. Our pets are part of our family. They need professional hospital care when saving their precious lives. The same as us. Are we going to have a surgery with the local GP? Definitely not. I can't understand why some people spend thousands and thousands of dollars for themselves but when it comes to their beloved pets suddenly they become so mean.
Bad experience overall - it's about the money – Surgeon Sarah. Good luck if you receive a call you deserve for your pet after surgery or her precious time. The reception staff need to learn to smile and one gave me inaccurate information regarding my insurance claim, clueless. I was told I had to do lodge the claim when the ARH clearly could, I found out later. I also made it clear to the… Read more
surgeon to call me back with a quote as I was given a range which was well more than I ever expected, of course it didn't happen. Very costly and charges are over the top. From my interaction I believe the interest and care is financial rather than the welfare of your pet. I was waiting for results and of course, they do not call you despite advising otherwise. Leaving you stressed and concerned. I had to follow up on everything, Communication is appalling. Make appointments to see the surgeon and all well and good in emergencies, however, a courtesy call would be appreciated to be given the opportunity to rebook! Appointment after appointment post surgery with no information or time from the Sarah. In place, she sends out her nurses who give me no information whatsoever as to why I need to keep returning week after week. Rather than just show up and be told come back next week. Infuriating! Despite voicing my opinion, basically, you get the tough luck look with no care. If I could avoid this place, I would and certainly will in the future trying Uni of Sydney. ARH Homebush needs a touch of empathy that's for sure. My suggestion to you would be to try and get it done through your local vet or visit another hospital! Terrible... I gave this feedback to the nurse who clearly couldn't even apologies or acknowledge what I was saying. Total ignorance.
A dangerous place for your pet – I brought my cat in last week as she hadn't eaten all day and was looking ill, but was still alert and herself. She spent about 48hrs at ARH Homebush and returned to me in a state of collapse, incoherence and was brain dead. At no stage did anyone at the ARH advise me of her deteriorating condition, and instead continued to charge me well in… Read more
excess of $4000 for treatment that somehow led her to become catatonic. I had no choice but to put her down. I have raised an urgent issue with them and I still haven't heard anything. I do not trust this place and it's staff, and I urge you to not bring your pet here, and certainly don't leave them there overnight.
