Antler Duolite Questions & Answers
My Antler handle has stopped working. It was getting stuck intermittently and then would not come up and the bag had to be carried. Wanted to know if this damage is covered by the warranty?
I no longer have this case, so I can't be sure what's causing this - the mechanism that releases the handle or bent rails. However, the extendible rails in soft-style cases, even though retracted into the case, can be prone to being bent when hit or stood on by something or someone heavy. A hardsided case may be less likely to bend in these circumstances. A repair may be possible if the telescopic rails can be exposed or maybe even just bent the other way without opening up the lining.
Can the handle of my Antler Super Lite be repaired? It is about 5 years old has done several long distant flights. From the first trip the handle was problematic at the airport, not returning and difficult to get out. I thought maybe I had overpacked. The problem with the handle was intermittent until a few months ago when the handle would not return and had to travel with a 'fragile' label. When it finally was pushed in, it then would not come out and the suitcase had to be uncomfortably dragged long distances through several airports.
I am sorry I cant answer you as my case suffered its internal collapse on its first trip and I only use it now on business trips to India where it can get very dirty. The handle still works, and if it failed i would throw the case away, as i have another case that is still OK.
I don't want to add to landfill, so am holding onto the case and wait awhile.
Why has this product been discontinued by Antler, is it to do with the internal damage?
I don't have an answer to this question. I no longer have the smaller of the pair originally purchased, and the large suitcase is still in use, although with much of the inside structure missing. I have purchased another small, light unit that, at this stage, is still undamaged. It would seem likely that Antler have been forced to redesign theses units due to complaints.
