moved on. It has always been a small but very well-serviced gym but now there are very few working machines in the gym. The top of the preacher comes off. The bar on the leg extension is bent. The tricep pulldown has much of its rubber missing, which has cut my face on numerous occasions. Two other cable machines are broken and out of service. It has been this way for months now. It's also the little things; it used to be a lovely community gym where children were welcome and there was a table where they could sit and draw, and where members would be able to pack/unpack their bags, etc., and would gather to chat, and where some members would leave fruit, etc. This is all gone. Members are now having to use stair machines or the floor to use their equipment on. The new owners clearly do not care at all for their gym or their members, the community culture is gone. New staff are rude to members. I have watched many regulars leave this gym recently and we won't be around much longer either. It has gone from one of the best little gyms in Townsville to an absolute disgrace overnight.

Between work and family life, staying consistent with fitness used to be tough. Anytime Fitness has completely changed that. I’ve trained at a lot of gyms, but AF has definitely been the best. The welcoming staff, modern equipment, and great classes make it easy to stay motivated. I’ve seen huge improvements in my health and confidence, and the atmosphere is perfect for both women and men.
Joined AF cleveland recently. I was intimidated at first being new to the gym scene but Claire and Rodney have been welcoming and always ready to assist. Feeling motivated to pursue my fitness journey with the flexibility of training whenever and wherever.
Aside from one slight minor issue in terms of payments, ATF is an easy going and decent gym for what it has to offer compared to other gyms and health clubs around Australia. The people that work there are lovely and if you sign up when they have deals going on you can sometimes score decent gym necessities, whether it be a towel, water bottle, protein shaker or bag to carry things etc.

out even more are the staff. They’re not just friendly, they treat you like part of a community. Every visit feels welcoming because of how approachable and supportive they are. Their social media page is also super active and engaging, which shows how much they care about connecting with members.
The programs and classes are well structured and really motivating. It’s amazing to see how strong and united the community of members is it doesn’t feel like just a local gym, it feels like a family.

I couldn’t ask for a better gym. So the equipment in any location is top notch, staff at different facilities are welcoming and helpful even when you don’t ask for it which is awesome. And recovery facilities in most of the facilities are awesome aswel and as a tennis player, probably the best gym for us to use

Classes are great and motivating. More classes would be great but I love the ones I do. Gabby from NBMackay AF is a fantastic support and full of helpful insights.
Follow-up · Would love a yoga class or maybe a dance class too. A Friday class would be great or anything after 4pm any day. I love the Thursday Strong AF class the best. Gabby is great at checking your form and helping ensure you are doing the exercises correctly so that you are getting the most benefit from it and also not causing yourself an injury.

accomodate, but the renovation was very welcomed and appreciated. Milton is bigger in space and the equipment is more spaced, so felt more conformable when I used there. I train very early in the morning, always unstaffed hours, so cannot comment on that. Every time I needed to freesz or reactivate my membership they were very helpul, so no complaints there. It would be nice if AF West End could renovate the toilets (that were neglected on the last renovation). They unfortunately don't give a good feeling around higene, and often smell bad. I try my best to not use the bathroom facilities at the gym - other than that, I enjoy my workouts and the location is perfect.

I signed up with my two children under the clear understanding that there was no contract lock-in, as I paid in full cash up front and at the time as verbally confirmed by staff. Over a year and a half later, I am being harassed with threats of debt collection, despite fulfilling the minimum terms — and worse, I am now being falsely told my minor daughter is locked into a new 12-month membership without my consent or knowledge,which completely violates their own policy that minors require parental approval.
I have in the past seen used pregnancy tests and multiple used needles in toilets. The toilets would go weeks uncleaned with crap all over bowl and wee all over floor.
Emails and SMS requests to cancel have been ignored or delayed for weeks, and I've received nothing but shifting stories, pressure, and refusal to take responsibility for their errors. I had no choice but to block further payments to protect my finances.
Anytime Fitness should be ashamed of how they treat paying members — especially families and minors. Their actions are not only morally questionable but may also be in breach of Australian Consumer Law. I will be filing formal complaints with ACCC, AFCA,and the Office of Fair Trading QLD.
I strongly advise anyone considering any anytime fitness branches to think twice before signing up. Once they have your payment info, they will do everything possible to keep charging you — even if it means ignoring your emails for weeks.

unhelpful, showing no interest in resolving the issue fairly. It’s disappointing to see that they’ll say whatever it takes to get you to sign up — but once you’re locked in, they don’t honour their word.
I have kept all proof of these conversations and am now taking the matter to the relevant external authority for a formal complaint.
If you’re considering joining, please do your due diligence and don’t be swayed by flashy offers like “end of year free” or similar promotions. Make sure everything they promise is in writing, because verbal assurances clearly don’t mean much here.
The upgraded and refurbished gym is amazing. It will be better when I understand how to coordinate the technology required to get the best out of it. Find it difficult, I think, due to being over 60 & not comfortable in using phone apps.
Lovely clean gyms with plenty of machinery variety and up to date equipment. The staff are always so friendly and helpful with any queries and I like that there are a wide range of gym locations and can go to any of them even while away still on holidays and everything.
