under street lighting, without a flash. Didn't expect that. Being unsure before buying if it was difficult to use, my technophobe friend who couldn't even text using the old cellphones, bought one and found it easier to text and she even started using the Internet on the phone. Negatives? As with all smart phones, battery life is far shorter than the old cellphones, and I still miss the tactile feel of the old buttons when typing on glass. Gave it to my nephew when I upgraded to a 5S earlier in the year. Apple's customer service when I had a problem with my initial phone was phenomenal. Sent me a courier box at 2 pm Thursday, picked it up at 3 pm, and via a tracking link, found out by 7 pm it was at Auckland Airport, by midnight arrived at Sydney airport. By 9 am Friday, it had reached Apple in Sydney, 12 noon replacement was arranged, by 3 pm was at Sydney Airport. The new phone was with me at work Monday 9 am. Easy enough for a first-timer to use, intuitive, stable. Camera is not bad even without flash. Apple customer service was superb. Shorter battery life than old cellphones, takes a few steps to activate Bluetooth, no camera flash.

Hmmm...It was supposed to be the be-all & end-all...it's just another phone really! – I got the iPhone as part of a plan & it's been a lot of trouble...2 replacements under warranty & a separate repair under warranty (total of 11 weeks without a phone where I still had to maintain my contractual payments). The issues have been short battery life (less than 2 hours), switching off randomly, dropping calls randomly, switching on randomly, wiping the contact list randomly, freezing constantly, refusing to connect to the internet even though I have a wifi connection available, getting waaaaay to hot (uncomfortable to touch) after only 10 or 15 minutes of use...so it was a dud to start with but after it was replaced, then replaced, then repaired we finally have a winner!

Now it does what it is supposed to do & I'm happier with it but I've just been sent an email from my carrier offering my the iPhone4 for nothing when I renew my contract & I'm not sure if I'm game! Handy for on-the-go internet access, emails, etc Problematic from day one...warranty replacements & repairs required~!

Good – Life is better for it. Creativity juices flow. Great productivity tool with 3G wifi internet connectivity. Did not bother to upgrade to 4G despite better resolution claim. hands. A simple accessible platform from which to explore, procure and exploit virtually every application you can think of. Enhances user experience. Integrates life, work, play seamlessly - almost. Promotes Creativity.

Charges very quickly within the hour. Far cry from previous models. Hopefully the battery life holds. Love the Airplane Mode. Phone and voicemail function unwieldy. The mute and hold buttons are frequently inadvertently activated when your cheeks are pressed against the screen. I suppose you can look at it the other way and say this is a good way to get ppl NOT to put their cheeks on the screen and to use the speakerphone instead.

Camera resolution could be better but good enough for web publication - just falls short of anything else.

Too much time spent therefore if any radiation, danger of getting fried.

A well engineered phone – Beautifully made, this phone has been utterly reliable for @ 4 years until I finally killed it. Which took some doing. Time Fly But this is still good – Been using this on the 2 - 3rd year. Must say it is still as good as the 1st time i get it. Great mobile BUT – It cannot be repaired - designed that way. Only option is to buy another. One drop can damage a very important function of the mobile such as sound, cannot find carrier anymore though sim is fine and inside which means no one can call me and vice versa. I've had better – I was finally talked into buying this phone right before they stopped selling it to prepare for the iPhone4. that offer this convenience. The pulling point with apple are the apps which are not all offered on other smart phones. When my contract runs out I will be researching another phone brand. Apps: games and lifestyle, so many to choose from! Big screen. Ease of use. Battery life is poor, signal is always poor (all 3 of my housemates have full reception at home on the same network while I have 2 bars), even with regular updates and cleanouts it lags, it will often turn off by itself.

Give me iphone 4! – I think I must be lucky but I experienced a lot of laggyness and problems with this phone. I have since upgraded to the iPhone 4 and it's been great. One grip is the camera and that it's only on one side. Great for it's time buggy and laggy

Good – My friend has one of these. He still uses it and it seems to be doing well without falling apart at the seems. It may be a little slow at times, but it keeps up well for a phone that you aren't going to use much. Not meant to be good for someone who frequently uses their phone, but for a light phone user who doesn't need their phone for much, it is perfect.

Reliable unit – I've owned mine for about 5 years and it hasn't missed a beat! For my use (mostly SMS, occasional calls, web access) it is adequate. tiled and carpeted floors without any damage, so very durable. I back up the unit regularly to my PC via iTunes, so if the worst happens I can easily restore the data to another iPhone. My source contact list is stored in MS Outlook (personal preference) which syncs nicely with the iPhone.

there when i neeed a friend, whenever i was mad i could through it and it wouldn't break. i was addicted to it, it sometimes froze, sometimes it wouold just turn off by itself when it was croping photos, had to charge it a lot.

Good quality phone – This phone lasted me 2 years before I decided to upgrade. It's the first phone that has lasted me that long! free or cheap. My phone drops out sometimes. Battery life could be better but I do use it a lot, more than my previous phones. I just have a USB sync cord, car charger and AC charger so I can charge it wherever I am.

That is one of the defining moments as to why I enjoy the functionality of this phone. No inbuilt radio receiver without having to stream via wifi! synchronsed to outlook. Some apps are pretty handy but I prefer to use it as a phone and directory. inadvertantly hitting touch points that hang up or call someone when you least expect it. Heavy use and phone battery life not the best of friends, you may need a booster charger in the car or office.
