Watch Series 7 GPS + Cellular 41mm Aluminium

3 years old, battery swollen and has completely detached the face. Sticky tape holding it together. Apple want $700 to repair it. Will not cover it at all, not a dollar. With the band it WAS a thousand dollar watch. Disgusting customer service from Apple and a pathetic product. Show details

Apple Watch has a sleepover in the ocean & RETURNS – I don’t know who’s reading this but let me just absolutely blow your mind and convince you that an Apple Watch is the way to go. So I’ve had my series 7 for probably 2 years now. And I LOVE it, it’s so handy and efficient and does all the things I need it to right? WRONG it does more than that. It defies all expectations. Just yesterday I jumped… Read more

off a jetty with my watch on and my old and worn watch band failed. My precious watch sank to the bottom 12 meters (at least) down. I was angry all day at myself. Anyway, long story short, I made a few posts on fb in some groups and next minute I had some lovely guy offering to go scuba dive for it! Awesome! Didn’t have many expectations but he found it! Amazing! Even more amazing is the fact that after 33 hours of laying on the ocean floor, my watch immediately charges back up and on it goes with its day! 33. hours. underwater. - and she’s right as rain! Doesn’t skip a beat. Now, idk about you, but I think that’s some quality design and craftsmanship if I ever saw it. Apple, you have me as a customer until the day I die xoxo

Apple watch – Purchased my refurbished Apple Watch Series 7 gps cellular from phonebot and very happy with the Watch and service I received. The battery life is a little poor but the features are excellent especially the fall detect feature which provides a wonderful benefit for me. I had a small issue with the battery charger which was fix promptly and without hesitation. I would certainly deal with phonebot again in the future. Show details

I wish they had a solution for the battery – The watch functions are amazing, but I keep chasing powerpoints to charge the watch, in best scenarios, and even when I put it in power saver it won't hold more than 2 days... Show details

Fabulous update from my reliable old Series 3 watch – My series 3 Apple Watch has been 100% reliable, but I wanted more functionality and cellular connectivity as my wife was happy to take my (still perfectly functional) series 3 Apple watch. (It’s really getting on as it was bought when they had just come out, but it has never missed a beat, waaay more reliable than my wife’s THREE Fitbits which… Read more

have all been a disaster on reliability.)

So I decided on a series 7 late last year, bought slightly second hand from someone upgrading to the “Ultra” - the series 7 basically has the same as the new series 8 (except no personal temperature monitor). I’m delighted with my series 7 watch, has a lot more onboard storage, with numerous additional face styles and options, plus of course cellular functionality so you can make and receive calls without your phone. It might also get the ability later this year to send emergency texts via Elon Musk’s SpaceX satellite network - has happened in the US but rollout here is still unknown. It also has better sleep monitoring than my old watch showing different stages of sleep, plus the capability to take ecg’s of your heart’s rhythm. (I also tested that with a friend who has a slightly irregular heart beat and it was flawless, though very obviously you need specialist advice for such matters.) Battery life is quite reasonable though it will normally need daily charging- I typically do it in the evening after dinner so I can then wear it at night for sleep monitoring. (If you want much better battery life you’d need to go for the “ultra”: bigger, more rugged, and more capable with things like a dive computer and of course more expensive.)

So summary- after using for a while, basically I couldn’t be much happier with my series 7 Apple Watch. I highly recommend it as long as you’re happy with a daily charge routine. (If you put it in aeroplane and power saving mode, you can actually get days out of one charge, very handy if you’re away and don’t need it’s full “smart” functionality.)

Apple will not get my money again!! – We have been an Apple family for many many years and we've come to the point where we are not willing to accept upgraded iPhones or products that are released with different power adapters rending any previous ones incompatible along with their continued expensive accessories. Our most recent purchase in the Apple Watch was the clincher for us.… Read more

Receiving a product with no charger and therefore rendering the product incomplete really highlights Apple's arrogance and how out of touch they are with customer centric service. We will be changing our phones and apple products as they come up for replacement. It's not ok Apple to be this way. Customers lost.

Great smart watch that has much more (after 10 months) – Display is beautiful and it's a nice wrist phone. It can also check ECG's and oxygen levels. My 7 is not all that accurate on distance, being short by about 5%, but if that doesn't bother you, it's a really fast to find a satellite and go. The exercise rings will get you in I like the Apple 7, it's pretty, picks up phone calls when I fumble my phone and sends my Cardiologist any wonky ECG reports. Show details

The best watch for your home – I purchased an Apple Watch Series 7 Aluminium 41MM GPS so I can text and talk with this using my Mobile Phone and track my steps/sleep at night and monitor my heart rate. It also much chargers faster and the battery last longer than the Apple Watch Series 5. Show details

Good, but expensive – I upgraded from a Series 2 that I used for 5 years. I am really happy with the overall quality as well as the larger screen face and upgraded health features such as the ecg. There was no noticeable improvement in the battery life so it needs to be charged every day. I usually do this overnight so it is not a big deal. The stainless steel is more… Read more

expensive but I think it looks better than the aluminium. It is hard to find a good deal/sales but ended up getting it from Amazon for the quick delivery.

Apple Series 7 my first week and Fitbit Sense Comparison – Firstly I bought this Watch to make calls and expected it to be a top fitness Watch for the price. Pros: The face 45mm is very large and great for reading texts, WhatsApp and other information. The Sense though has a great screen too and quite readable. Call quality: A 6/10. Calls are often very faint but Siri is a lot louder so maybe an update… Read more

can fix it? The Sense can only receive calls but as it is much smaller the sound is worse. So Apple Watch can be used for calls but could be louder. Apple wins here.

As a fitness watch: I have been very surprised how bad the Apple Watch is as fitness watch compared to the Fitbit Sense. The Fitbit has live tracking available on one screen whereas the Apple will give heart readings at 6-10 minutes intervals and I even got warnings of a high heart rate 8 minutes after the event. The Fitbit flashes a warning live. Same with steps etc.

I do like the on demand oxygen reader on the Apple which the Sense does not have. Also, the breathing exercises and meditation. I also like the SOS call feature as it puts emergency services on my wrist. Battery life is 3 days with the Sense and 1 day with Apple. I still wear the Apple because it has some handy things like emergency calling but I do miss the live tracking of the Sense. For about $380 the Sense is a way better fitness watch but you can’t make calls and the screen is much smaller. For $799 i feel the Apple is not really good at any one thing. No live fitness tracking or heart tracking. Call sound is way too low. So, pending updates, I paid $799 for a much larger screen which is great for texting but I’m still hoping Apple will make some improvements. Also I got no notification about my sleep from the Apple but the Fitbit would show me my sleep score a few minutes after I awoke. Did I make an expensive mistake buying the Apple? Yes unfortunately I did. I honestly cannot recommend the Apple Series 7 watch either as a fitness watch or to make calls with. It’s only good really for receiving texts due to the large screen. Fitbit Sense is the best fitness Watch. The Apple is more ‘jack of all trades but master of none’.

First Apple Watch – I have had a couple of Fitbits previously which always end up breaking and this is my first Apple Watch. It was a gift and did not really have a strong need for one. Firstly, I would strongly consider the SE over the series 7. I actually upgraded from the SE to 7 and the faster charging is a definite advantage, but always on, slightly larger… Read more

display, faster processor and oxygen sensor are of marginal benefit given the price differential. In regards to general features, I like being able to make payments and take calls without my phone. Use of Siri is more convenient, especially unlocking my front door or making a call, using apple maps whilst driving is enhanced by haptic alerts for upcoming turns. I have not found any useful apps, although I will use Strava from time to time. Water proof activity tracking works fine and I have worn whilst swimming. Sleep tracking is ok. I cannot link my Aria scales directly which is a shame. Unlocking of phone to perform covid check-ins is ok but NSW app requires passcode/face-id anyway. Also, phone unlocks itself unintentionally when handling and side buttons are pressed so I find this feature of limited use. I have also found unlocking my MacBook unreliable. Whilst I am less likely to miss calls or messages whilst wearing the watch I find this a little distracting at times. I find using the watch a little tricky to use with my fat fingers and without my reading glasses. Having scratched the scratch resistant display within first week I highly recommend fitting a protector. Thankfully Apple excellent level of customer service kindly agreed to replace the watch and otherwise build quality is as expected from Apple. I was a little disappointed that the Apple store staff could not extoll the virtues of having an Apple Watch other than "it is an extension of your phone". I have subsequently found out a little more from YouTube and getting used to having it on my wrist overall. I am still not sure that anyone absolutely needs an Apple Watch (or similar device) and perhaps it is all about style over substance. If you want an Apple Watch (SE or Series 7), go for it, does anyone need an Apple Watch - tbd....

Very Underwhelming – Based on other good reviews I thought I'd upgrade my Samsung Gear sport to the latest top of the line Apple watch. What a waste of money. Basics like sleep tracking, watch faces and even ease of use were far behind my previous watch. And of course so many things are completely locked into how Apple thinks they should be done rather than how you… Read more

want them done. Luckily I was able to get my money back as the watch won't work properly with some phones if your workplace has mobile device management.

Upgraded from series 3, woah, what a difference! – After upgrading from a series 3, immediately you can see the optimisation and brightness available in the larger 45mm screen, which is so clear and engaging. The responsiveness of the touch is incredible making it easy to navigate texts messaging, moving through apps and use of system. The price point was a little high as I purchased when new,… Read more

however it was a treat and even more so when exploring the features. It’s comfortable standard straps make wearing the watch as though it’s not there. Cellular number share with my cellular provider works seamlessly, I can leave without my phone for a walk or gym session and not need it. Only issue is the battery only lasts me for one full work day, two days in the weekend when I’m not using it so much.
