Our newborns experience – Newborn couldn't keep it down after using for a couple of days. Potentially lead to an infection, but luckily we ended up being able to provide our baby with breastmilk. Wouldn't say it's the best in regards to newborn. Show details

Absolutely wonderful formula – My wife and I started our 6 week old daughter on this formula after my wife’s milk didn’t end up coming through. We were mixed feeding for a few weeks using another brand of formula, before her obstetrician said her milk supply isn’t ever going to improve. The choice to move onto formula wasn’t an easy one, and we did a lot of research into the… Read more

available science behind various popular formulas and ended up choosing the Aptamil Gold Biotik. It’s the cheapest infant formula around with probiotics included in the recipe, and has all the usual good stuff in it.

Our daughter took to it right away and LOVED it. We were anxious she would develop gas or colic or constipation but nothing happened. She’s happy, she’s having very minimal spit ups, no vomiting, normal once daily poos, and she’s thriving.

I’m so ecstatic that we chose this formula. It’s $27 on Amazon, and currently $24.80 at Big W. For a top quality Gold formula with probiotics, that’s amazingly cheap.

Trusted name, top quality formula, happy baby, grateful parents.

I wanted to like this formula – We initially started our baby on another popular formula however I decided to swap over to Aptamil Gold as his poop started becoming quiet solid. I was hoping this would be a winner as I had used this for my first born back in 2010 when it was Karicare Gold and I had great success with it. Whilst his poop has improved greatly, it gave him a… Read more

ridoculous amount of wind. He literally became a human trumpet. Was he bothered by it?? Maybe not as much as the amount of wind he would make you think but my mummy instinct tells me that he did seem a little unsettled.

Another downside is the effort required to dissolve this formula and the amount of bubbles / foam it creates if shaken. I don't recall Karicare Gold being so foamy 9 years ago. After calling the company to discuss this issue I was advised to swirl and stir with a teaspoon. Whilst this did prevent bubbles and foam, at times there were still chunks of undissolved formula in the bottle. This is difficult when you have a baby screaming for a bottle or when you're out of the house. I demand feed my baby so preparing at a set time doesn't work for us.

I appreciate that the foam is created as a result of a particular ingredient (I believe the Fish oils, but don't quote me) and have read a comment by a Nutricia Rep stating that these bubbles stabilise and shouldn't affect baby if the bottle / teat is adequately drawing air back in to prevent baby taking excess air in. This is all good and well but unfortunately it's still a deal breaker for us as I'm not entirely convinced that the increase of wind wasn't attributed to just an ingredient and not the bubbles.

As I've stated, I am disappointed that it didn't work for us so we have now moved on to another brand.

I would definitely consider returning to Aptamil Gold should the process of preparing the formula be improved.

Great Product but Wind Problems – My baby switched to Aptamil on the recommendation of my doctor after we were having some poo & offensive fart issues with another brand. Within a couple of days of changing my baby's poo came back to a better consistency and colour as well as his farts not being so offensive. My baby seems to like the taste of the Aptamil, it is easy to prepare… Read more

however I note there is usually some clumps left behind. This formula does foam up a bit when being prepared so it makes it difficult to get everything combined without getting too much foam.

After a couple of weeks of using the Aptamil I have noticed my baby seems to have some trapped wind (he is 8 weeks old). He struggles to get farts out and it has been waking him up. I am currently trialling NAN Comfort to see if it was the Aptamil that was causing it but I haven't noticed any change. I will probably continue with the Aptamil once I finish the tin of NAN Comfort as my baby was actually drinking more of the Aptamil (he falls asleep a little way in the bottle of the NAN Comfort and we are struggling to complete a feed). I have been giving my baby Infacol to help him pass the trapped wind and when putting this in the bottle of while preparing the Aptamil we notice a significant difference with the foam after the bottle is prepared. The Infacol makes it so there are no bubbles in the formula at all.

I am fairly happy with the Aptamil for my baby and I think his trapped wind is just a developmental issue that he will hopefully grow out of soon.

Great formula but fix the scoop please – The scoop is useless. It should have one level spoon to scoop. You get extra powder on the handle because of the design. Makes a mess and really. Isn't user friendly! Show details ·  1

Great Formula – Have been combination feeding my newborn but NAN Supreme Pro was making him gassy and constipated. Switched to Aptamil Gold and he is now doing great. Definitely recommend! Show details

Amazing – Well my newborn was breastfeeding for the first month and then I switched to formula. I used first Nan Comfort and it was horrible, gave my baby stomach aches, made him gassy, unsettled and seemed hungry no matter what. Not to mention how his poos were super dark and stinky!! SO I HAD TO SWITCH TO APTAMIL GOLD! and then wow! Poos are as similar as when he was breastfed and all other issues seemed to disappear! I highly recommend. Show details

Shrinkflation has hit this product – So Nutricia decided to change the formula of their baby powder and with that came a dosage change with no change in the retail price. Good thing I use kitchen scales to weigh out formula doses as it only became apparent after I used the provided scoop. Previously I'd reuse the scoop from the previous tin until I locate the new scoop. I… Read more

understand ingredient changes might call for dosage changes but the unit price should also drop. My understanding is they went from palm oil to vegetable oil.

I'll be switching to another product made by another supplier who doesn't look to increase profit during a cost of living crisis.

So much wind and pain – Switched formula due to the explosive poo’s another formula was causing. Our baby was settled and happy without wind. Just the poo’s were crazy. Saw others had switched to this formula from the same one we were using. Unfortunately, this one caused her to have so much wind and difficulty pooing and her vomiting had increased. Our baby never screamed or squealed until having this formula. It was heartbreaking. Show details

Lifesaver! – We tried another formula when weaning our 7.5-month-old off breastmilk, but it didn't go well. After researching, we found that Aptamil Gold mimics breastmilk the best—and it worked like a charm! Our baby took to it right away. Absolute lifesaver! Show details

Great – We had our daughter on Nan optipro 1 till 12 months old then Nan optipro 3 till 16 months, now our daughter is on this and loves it even more than Nan optipro 3. (Note, this transition of the formulas listed were good for our daughter and we never had issues). Up to each individual to their own. Show details ·  1

Wouldn't recommend at all – I bought Aptamil formula for my 2 Months old baby with constipation. This formula is very thick and oily which first of all it is hard to dissolve in water and the end result was formula with lots of lumps. It also causes wheezing and diarrhea for my baby. Last thing I need to mention is the taste of it is terrible. It might work for others but unfortunately did not work for us.  Show details

Great Formula – This is the third formula I tried as my baby had constant issues with tummy pains. So much so that I took him to the doctors because I thought he may have an intolerance to cows milk. The doctor told me he didn’t and the tummy pains should go away but after another 2 weeks of no improvement I tried this formula. Within 48 hours the tummy pains… Read more

completely disappeared and he was no longer constipated. My baby is finally smiling and laughing and is able to burp and fluff easily without the need of gripe water. However, my baby does sometimes have diarrhoea or very runny poos on this formula. It is also a little on the pricy side and you really need to shake the bottle as it doesn’t mix easily.

clogged up – Baby was happy on this formula when we left the hospital and he is 8 weeks now.. I breast feed and formula feed but noticed after his formula feed he would wake up absolutely clogged up, clogged nose very uncomfortable breathing. We decided to change formula and it seems that he is no longer clogged up. (Unfortunately he now has bad reflux so I'm left with nothing, on the search to find the right formula) Show details

Great formula, healthy baby – My baby has been drinking this since 6 week. Started with mix feeding, then on 8 week transitioned to exclusively formula fed. (at around 50% percentile). She really likes to drink this, craving every feed.

And it's easy to get (woolies or chemist warehouse always has in stock). Affordable.

Only issue is it seems hard to dissolve. You really need to shake the bottle hard which creates a lot of air bubbles. But bubble doesn't seem to bother my baby much. I would rather have bubbles than undissolved milk powder.

Thank you Gold+ for giving my baby a healthy body.

Best Formula – When my little one could no longer have my milk my doctor recommended Aptamil. Best decision ever. Loved drinking it from day 1. No side effects from drinking it and it was easy to prepare. I am glad I made I had this formula as it worked well for us. The only down side was having it available in the home, at times it was hard to find, even with shops limiting the amounts people could get. Show details ·  1

A good formula but not suitable for my baby – I purchased this formula in sachet form from Woolworths (box of 5 x sachets for $4). issues accepting this formula and it smelt pleasant and had a nice texture when made up. It easily disolved in a bottle of room temperature water.

It unfortunately isn't suitable for my baby as I later found out that my baby is sensitive to lactose. Due to the initial success with this brand of formula, I switched my baby over to Aptimal Delact formula which has less/no lactose. Aptimal Delact has also been a great formula for my baby.
