VERY poor workmanship! – Purchased a 4 x 2 x 2 “Deluxe” Cabinet Deal from Aquariums R Us Brisbane and firstly we sat waiting on Friday 2nd December for our Delivery which never showed up, only to find out that the receptionist had booked our delivery for Saturday 3rd, but told us the 2nd!…. My partner lost a days income!…. So then we sat the following day waiting for our delivery which arrived about an hour late, 6:30pm, instead of “between 4:30 & 5:30pm”…. The cabinet arrived looking like the dog had chewed it!…. It was not finished AT ALL, all of the edges were splintered and shabby looking and there were scratches on the hood and doors etc. There were round circles ground into the top of the hood, the very top of the cabinet that is the most visible. Possibly where is was clamped??? The workmanship of this “Deluxe” unit is just disgusting given the amount that we paid for it! $2330 for it and we have had to turn around and go out and buy a sander to finish the job that should’ve been done BEFORE it was delivered to us!…. On top of that, when we enquired as to whether we could purchase the unit “stained/lacquered” etc. we were advised by the Receptionist that they didn’t do that and that most people just left the units “as is”, but we could lacquer it “if we wanted”…. When the delivery guy arrived he INSISTED that the unit be lacquered in order to prevent water damage, and stood and explained how to do this. We have had to go and purchase Lacquer and brushes, which are not cheap!…. So we paid $2330 for our “Deluxe”, crappy pine timber unit and then have had to spend ANOTHER $200 on top, to purchase a sander and bits and pieces to lacquer it. We are two girls, me being Disabled, and it’s not been the easiest of tasks to complete to get the unit “finished” to a standard that it already should’ve been for the price we paid! My kitchen has been turned into a workshop and is now covered in sawdust! We are EXTREMELY unimpressed, to say the least and DO NOT recommend ANYBODY else try their luck or waste their hard earned money with this Company!

EDIT: Upon getting through the mundane tasks of sanding, lacquering and washing the really poor quality sand they sent us (more like dirty river sand than Aquarium sand!) we finally got around to getting the tank onto the stand!….

When we cleaned the filthy thing what was underneath the grime was not impressive!…

We have gone to the Company about all of the issues with this “Deluxe” package, which is FARRR from “Deluxe” (hate to see their normal package!) and have just been met with claims that all of their products are of a high standard blah blah!….

I guess some people can’t see the truth even when they’re sent pictures which clearly show the cold hard facts, and in this case they are that their products are nothing but garbage!
