Aquasana AQ-4000

Terrible hasn’t even lasted 2 years – Extremely disappointed. Bought this around 1 1/2 years ago and it started leaking about a month ago. We purchased a new filter cap as we could see water was leaking out there, however it kept leaking and we have found cracks all over the filter now. Countertop unit WILL break – If you buy the countertop unit it WILL definitely break on you. I bought one a few years ago and over this time the hose has clogged up, the housing would not stop leaking and just now the housing has cracked. 4 life' program which means lifetime warranty as long as you have automatic rebuy of a filter every 9 months. The distributor stopped sending the replacement filters and now will not honour the warranty.

Either way you go you will be paying out money, it's a con.

Ok when it doesn't Leak - Cracked Housing – Installation - straight forward. Filtered Water Quality - good Design - Poor. Had housing changed 5 times (for free) because of cracked casing. I suggest that there is a design or material quality fault here. They have tried to put some reinforcing ribs on the newer casing to add strength but it still cracked. Suggest they redesign the casing and incorporate stronger materials or change the structural design of the filter casing.

Otherwise no complaints about the quality of the water.

Using a Berkey now because it removes fluoride as well.

filter caps but I managed. The unit ran slow but I thought it would speed up as they settled in - it didn't. After about 6 weeks, the thread jumped on one of the filters and water spewed out everywhere. There was no way I could move that cap, even with a hammer. The supplier has offered new parts but I have lost faith in the unit and don't want to go through this again in a couple of months. Not worth it. The unit is not yet 12 months old. PS the water pressure here is very good but not excessive. Water quality was OK Poorly made housing.

Cracked housing after approx four filter changes, otherwise good – I was happy with this product until the housing cracked. I have always been very careful when tightening the filter lids as the unit looked a little vulnerable when first installed, however, it still cracked. Good – I used this unit for about 18 months prior to upgrading to a more expensive unit (upon moving house). The unit worked well - and I had no problems with replacing cartridges or with any cracking in the casing (as per other reviews here). Value for money. Improved the taste of Sydney's water. Fairly "unattractive" unit.

Terrible – Horrible, horrible product. Very poorly designed. Not worth any amount of money because you cannot change the water filters. Find something better! It was a complete waste of money. When it comes time to change the water filters (in six months), it's nearly impossible to do so, making it a product you only keep for six months. Very, very poorly designed, and a complete waste of money.

chemicals, the ion-exchange process removes lead and replaces it with potassium, a beneficial mineral that also makes the water taste great. It really is far superior to any other filter in its class. The after-sales support I have received is exceptional and the "Water 4 Life" program means I don't have to remember when to change the filters because they are sent to me automatically every 9 months. Superior dual filtration system with sub micron filtration and ion-exchange resin, lightweight and compact unit, has simple attachment to tap. Amazing value for money. This has to be the best countertop water filter in the world!

Good – Overall Aquasana AQ-4000 product is good and i recommend it to all who want to keep family healthy. The Aquasana AQ-4000 Countertop water filter is the perfect choice for people that need an easy to install and maintain water filter.The AQ-4000 filters bad taste, odors, lead, cysts, and hundreds of chemicals found in our water sources.
