The company are professional, friendly and on time. Kieth was amazing at making my showers look brand new again. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Thanks Chris and the Aquashield team – Very impressed with the service and personnel from Aquashield Bathrooms. They are friendly, professional and exceptionally trustworthy, very happy with the price of our job too. Owner/Manager Chris kept a warranty promise made 5 years ago, not every company would be so honest. Team members Tom and Jared were neat, quick and professional, nothing for us to clean up. Thanks guys, hope 2023 is a successful year for you. From Pat, (Camira).
Exemplary company – My wife and I contracted this company regarding rectification of loose basins and deteriorating grouting in our ensuite. In dealing with them from ' go to whoa ' they presented as a friendly and competent business. No more so in the person of the tradesman who completed the work. He was quick, helpful and did a remarkable job right down to ensuring the cleanup was effected. Great job. He was a credit to himself, trade and the company.
Excellent Quality, ,Service and Communication – From the moment of first contact until the work was completed, our experience with Aquashield Bathrooms was exceptional. All the personnel we dealt with were highly skilled communicators from Ramona's phone and email contact which ensured that all appointments were efficiently organised, to the Managing Director, Chris who carefully and fully… Read more
explained what was needed to repair our very old shower and Devlin, who worked tirelessly above and beyond our expectations even when the unexpected arose. The finished result was amazing.
Thank you Aquashield for your professional, friendly, high-quality and cost-effective service which we can't reccommend highly enough.

New Ensuite is a dream – We had Aquashield Bathrooms brought in to fix a problem in our main bathroom, which was rectified by them to our satisfaction. We then decided to use them to undertake an ensuite renovation which we had been considering. From the time we first engaged with Chris and his team, to the final sign off, we have nothing but positive feedback. Chris's… Read more
knack with logistics and knowledge of project planning is excellent. His tradesmen were ALWAYS on time. We received a text each afternoon from the office staff who advised/confirmed what would be occurring the next day and at what time. This made it so much easier to for us to plan our day. The project plan had very few changes from the get go. The quality of the work was excellent. The tile work is exceptional! We had some unplanned work pop up due to white ants, but this didn't cause a lot of lost time. Chris and his team took it in their stride. At the end of each day the tradesmen cleaned up their work before departing which was much appreciated as you can imagine how much dust etc can accumulate which such work. We LOVE our ensuite. Thank you Chris and team.
Not liable for damage to your property – Aquashield Bathrooms provide a relatively low cost alternative with a repair to a leaking bathroom, and provide a professional no-obligation assessment to determine the bathroom/shower's suitability for repair or renovation. Not all installations are repairable. Repairs are typically short-term fixes for customers hoping to delay larger costs or… Read more
to put off a larger renovation to a later date, so it provides an alternative.
However, it is not without its risks. I had 2 repairs done to upstairs bathroom and ensuite showers so I can review this work.
For a repair job, typically the existing grout is ground away, and old sealants removed. The removal of any shower screen is something the business will do and this does save cost and complexity by not needing to engage a shower screen company. The company didn't clean the shower screens, and you are expected to clean the site/shower and not use it for a week or more prior to the scheduled repair date to give it time to dry out. The repairer was very careful with the screens and as our screens are semi-frameless, did not break any and this is a credit to the company in taking care not to do this.
The tile re-grouting (floor and wall) is generally of good quality and uses the company's special products that help to seal the wet area and prevent water leakage to the underlying areas (particularly important if you are having any problems with your waterproof membrane). It is not a substitute for fixing any problems with your membrane, but it could buy you time (though the 12 month warranty is for workmanship, not the existing installation), but problems don't go away completely, because of 'wicking' - condensation forming on the membrane underneath - repairing the shower area may stop most leaks from the shower area that are caused by broken-down silicon, grout etc, but doesn't stop moisture build-up from wicking if the membrane underneath is faulty. If the membrane is likely to be ok (a plumber is usually required to assess this), then the repair may be a worthwhile lower cost option.
In our repairs, the installer said he found some of the grout to be relatively hard and that was the reason for damaging some of our good tiles in the shower area. He left score marks, one of them fairly deep, in perfectly good tiles, due to the machine tool blade coming into contact with tile surfaces instead of between the tiles.
The work was of acceptable quality, but the repairer was less inclined to do a quality job resealing parts of the existing shower screen. The repairer said he doesn't think that's really his issue, and the company might say it's an old screen, but despite the condition of screens, it is not hard to clear away old silicon and re-seal them, but about 20% of this work was done poorly or inconsistently and the repairer reluctant to fix it (though he did fix it). The screens or silicon residue is generally not cleaned, so expect to spend a fair bit of time cleaning your screens to bring them up to the look you want following the repair to the wall and floor tiles.
Probably the worst aspect is that the company expects signoff the same day. Whilst they don't hurry you and ensures you are happy, damaged or chipped tiles are your responsibility. This might be hard to stomach if they're done to your perfectly good tiles that then look unsightly. The company will tell you they'll kind of blend in after a while with use, but that's not likely with one of the deep score marks the repairer's machine tool made. But worst of all, one of our tiles outside the shower that was not part of the repair job was chipped. Our perfectly good tile finish now has a chip mark on it nearly 5mm across. The repairer apologised but payment and acceptance of the repair is expected, just the same. The company does not take responsibility for damage to the property. The company could accidentally break something more serious by mistake and your insurance is unlikely to cover it, as its building/renovation work, and is not covered by any building insurance because there is no building contract, only an acceptance of quote. Thankfully this did not happen, but now our perfectly good tile work has a reminder of the damage caused by inadequate protection of the areas around the work site. The company assured us that drop sheets are used, but in reality these are not used throughout and exposed areas are vulnerable to damage. If you wish to use this company, I recommend putting in place your own protective coverings around the work area and remaining present the whole time to monitor the work.
Renovations don't necessarily need to involve the whole bathroom - what might be termed a shower refit. The repair work we had done was not a shower refit. But even if it was, nothing short of a complete bathroom renovation would remove the damage the company did to one of our tiles near the shower. Though it was a relatively small tile chip, it's visible and unsightly. Repairs to tiles that are in-place are not cheap. The company is not specialised to do tile repairs and will not help you if they damage any of your tiles, regardless whether they are part of the repair or not.
The company has a very good process and professional attitude and they are taking their risk management relating to the current pandemic very seriously too. They get back to you in a timely manner. But the repair is a cheap option, and the price you pay is some collateral damage they might cause in the process of conducting a repair that you need to wear - they won't be held liable for it.
My score is fair as it indicates all the good this company does, and the opportunity it offers, but also where some weaknesses exist. Some of these are to be expected - it's hard to do this work without expecting that the occasional nick or scratch might happen, but to areas of your home outside the work area, it's only reasonable to expect the company to come to the party and get it fixed, even if they risk making not money or the job costing them money. But that is a risk the customer agrees to accept in using their service. What they offer is compelling though - bathrooms are expensive and one of the single most expensive and troublesome part of the home from a use/maintenance & wear and tear viewpoint. Most home insurance policies don't insure against water leaks to the shower area of bathrooms, as those companies treat leaks as a "wear & tear" issue for the same reason - building standards have steadily improved over the years, but poor quality work is still being done and in a way that creates demand for a repair type industry. Just the same, customers will be surprised for how short a time bathrooms may last based on the materials and sealants used. This company suggests its products last a longer time with a better quality job done. That may well be the case, but it seems to be different to the old days when bathroom designs were relatively simple and lasted a very long time between renovations.
