Arctel

Worst customer service, avoid this provider at all costs. Cheap for a reason. Show details
If it was possible to give zero I would have. I switched NBN providers recently and Arctel is attempting to charge me for a full 30-day notice period after the service has already transferred. This means they are charging me for an active line they are no longer supplying and no longer paying NBN Co for. To make matters worse, I gave notification… Read more
weeks ago via their internal portal, which they are now ignoring to start the '30-day clock' from their own response date. This is an unethical practice and a barrier to a fair market. I have lodged a complaint with the TIO. Avoid this company if you value fair billing and customer service.
another provider acting unlawfully by making their customers give 30 days notice to cancel, this confusing tactic should be banned australia wide. Also after my promotional price finished after six months i was supposed to be rolled over to a $65 per month plan but instead they have just charged me $90, needless to say i gave them their 30 day… Read more
notice and i would implore people to avoid this company at all costs as there is literally no way to contact customer service by phone only by email, save yourself the stress and go with anyone else, literally!
Joined in November and decided to change the plan to a new deal in December. I phoned them to do this but was told I had to sign up online. A month later I get 2 statements showing the have charged my credit card twice as they had created a new service ID and never cancelled the original plan. I immediately phoned and was told to send an email… Read more
with the details, which I did and gave them the 2 service ID numbers that they had under my one address. They also had created separate AVC I.D numbers which was bizarre. Since then I have had to escalate the matter to the TIO as Arctel did not answer any of my emails and have refused to cancel one of the plans. They do not answer the phone either. I have stage 4 cancer and the stress of trying to sort this mess out is taking a toll on my health. It looks as though they are ignoring the TIO instructions to sort the matter out. Not sure what to do next but I cannot ffoord to pay for 2 separate plans for one service.
Extremely disappointing experience with Arctel. After switching to Arctel NBN, my work VPN (FortiClient) completely stopped working. After troubleshooting, it was confirmed that Arctel places customers behind CG-NAT by default, which breaks standard work VPN connections. When I contacted support, I was told I must pay an additional $5 per month… Read more
just to obtain a basic public IPv4 address. I made it clear that I do not require a static IP—only a normal dynamic public IPv4 for work purposes.
I have previously been with other NBN providers, all of whom provided a public IPv4 address at no additional cost. Charging extra simply to opt out of CG-NAT is not standard industry practice and was not clearly disclosed at sign-up.
On top of this, my 500 Mbps plan struggles to reach advertised speeds, often maxing out around 300 Mbps, even after proper setup and testing. The modem was supplied by Arctel.
This feels like a classic bait-and-switch, where essential functionality is locked behind hidden fees. I would strongly recommend avoiding Arctel if you work from home or rely on VPN access.
