Rust and mound issues – Rubber seal is no good, and machine gets mound very easily. Also has rust issues. Would never buy another Ariston washing machine ever. Tell other friends about these problems as well so they don’t buy one. Paid $1700 and thought I was getting a good quality machine but instead got an inferior product. Extremely disappointed. Rust around detergent hopper and mould around seal – It seems there is an ongooing issue regarding comments about rust and mildew. Our machine is 9 years and i would have expected it last longer than this. Can the seal be replaced as waterr is now leadking from front of machine when it is starting to load the water?  Show details

Expensive Rustbucket – Purchased our machine from Harvey Norman in 2010 with an extended warranty. Has run well and happy with the wash results but the cabinet rust is out of control, badly mildewed door seal in spite of wiping it dry and leaving the door open (shouldn't need to ), detergent door falling off and now the bearings are noisy. All this on a $1600 machine… Read more

which the repairer didn't think it worth repairing because of parts cost alone. Nice to hear the whole barrel has to be replaced thanks to Aristons wisdom and insight into financial gain at the customers expense. Do I fork out approx $800 to have it repaired or buy a new (Non Ariston) machine?????????? You tell me. If I buy a new one it won't be an Ariston........

Great machine for many years – Our machine has been working well for many years and we are very happy with it. Recently, it started playing up with only starting sometimes, others it wouldn't. Lasted 8 Years. No Problems – I have read all the previous adverse reviews, and thought that someone should do a positive one! I have to say that in the 8 years I had mine - I had NO problems - ever. I am replacing it, as it recently developed a major fault that was too expensive to fix. The AQXXF 129, the 8Kg model was a brilliant machine. Quiet, gentle on clothes. I had no… Read more

regrets about purchasing this machine. I also bought it because the RH opening door suited my apartment laundry cupboard and almost all the other brands were LH opening. I bought it from Harvey Norman.

I have just bought the Ariston Aqualtis 9Kg Model AQ94F49D AUS. It has many features including the now essential 30 minute cycle and the easy iron feature - plus a 1400 rpm spin. The old machine had these features as well, well before others had them. I have been a front loader convert for decades and love the way my clothes, towels and linen last SO much longer. Some of the programs do take a little longer, but the extra rinsing cycles are worth it if you have detergent allergies. I find I use the 30 minute cycle most of the time, and then separately engage the higher spin cycle to finish items like towels for quicker drying.

The only detrimental point I noticed was that there had been some rust develop under the soap dispenser. The washing machine repair man said that it was a problem that developed as a design defect and was not isolated to just the Ariston Aqualtis. I will check my new one regularly by removing the detergent drawer. Always dry the rubber door seal after use and make sure that you leave the door open a little. A tip given to me by a washing machine salesman was that one should always give the machine a good hot wash once a month using either Scalex Plus - or a cupful of white vinegar! This cleans out any detergent residue.

One pays a lot for white goods, it is important to maintain them regularly. It is also important to have it installed properly, as front loaders need to be balanced correctly to avoid extra noise and vibration. It is worth paying the extra - if it applies. Sometimes you can negotiate free delivery/installation. The Ariston Aqualtis is not an inexpensive purchase, but the finish and performance are, in my experience, equal to the other more expensive European imports, which are often twice the price.

disgusted – what a rip off!!! pay nearly $2,000 for a washing machine, and put up with mould, put up with slow wash cycles, and after 7 years, the machine is not worth repairing, said the repairman. Roughly 1,000 washing cycles, as i live alone, is such a bad rip off, and now i have to go fork out to buy another washing machine!!! Disappointed and disgusted!!!  Show details

Rust, mould – It is most disappointing when you pay a premium price for a good washing machine to see rust under the detergent dispenser. The enamel is now peeling. We wash the detergent dispenser weekly because of mould build up. No matter what we try, we cannot get rid of mould. We will not be recommending your products or purchasing any Ariston products going forward..  Show details

Product discontinued...perhaps recall of the product would have been the better brand decision – I purchased this w/m in 2009. Unfortunately, I was seduced by the sleek look of the machine. What an expensive mistake. I gave my old f/l Simpson to a friend which was kept in a outside laundry..and still works. MINE is inside yet has RUST! Flaking enamel had revealed the washing machine is RUSTING AWAY! HN had big sale on ARISTON @ the time,… Read more

perhaps ARISTON knew they had a product destined to rust and wanted them all sold. Going by the comments on this branch, it is apparent 2009 was not a good year to buy an ARISTON W/M. Don't touch the brand ARISTON.

Waste of good money – I purchased this machine in October 2009 after the salesman reassured us we would get about 14 years out of the unit. Whilst it washed well for six years recently in the last 6 months a noise started to develop till eventually a loud grind and scrape put my machine to a halt. Got a service technician in and he advised the inside barrel had damaged… Read more

the plastic lining as the whole inside had come loose, he advised a new washing machine. I am now waiting for the delivery of a new machine not this brand. I paid premium price for this brand as well as extended warranty (which was useless as it finished October 2015). I will never invest in an Ariston again.

Washes well...but the rust and display faults render the machine unusable – The machine is a few years old now, but the rust appeared very soon after purchase (within 12 months), so we relegated it to be the emergency backup instead of our main machine. So it only did an average of 1 wash per week for the last 18 months. Yet now, the display has died, it seems. Plug the machine in, and there is a LOT of buzzing and noise… Read more

Has been a good workhorse for us for last 7 years – We also got sold this by the Harvey Norman guys (look how strong the door hinges are! lol). That was in 2008. Its now July 2015 (so 7+ years great service for a young family of 4 - it's been on all the time) - and we've just finally had a problem Houston. It started with the door interlock playing up (a common issue with these I've been told) -… Read more

then all the panel lights started flashing (like a short circuit) and was showing an F-08 error. I believe that the big (cheap) capacitor (>$1 worth) on the motherboard had failed. Anyway I undid the 5 screws holding that in to the door, sourced a new (2nd hand) motherboard for $20 (it just clips into place)- and bobs your uncle! Looking forward to many more years with this machine. The repair guy told me that Direct Drive or Induction motor machines are best - he suggested LG and Bosch as the best. We do have a little black mold on the rubber and also in the liquid tray. But that's our fault - we have never given it ANY maintenance. I like the PAUSE function on it. Trays rusting out is apparently another problem to watch for - but no issues with mine yet. And also I met a woman who's machine was perfect except it wouldn't do the spin cycle - I think she only needed to replace the brushes - but like most people (sadly), she just chucked it and got a new one from...you've guessed it (Hardly Normal). Disadvantages: Like most front loaders it does take time to complete a full load - and it does misleadingly stay on "1 min Left" for an eternity (they really should fix that). But overall I've been happy with this machine. And hope to get to get another 7 or 8 years out of it (here's hoping). Hope this has helped you (I never post reviews).

Expensive, poor quality – Started rusting at 3 years old. Detergent dispenser gets mouldy if I don't clean it every week. The wire holding in the front seal is poking out and rusty. Now after 7 years the start/pause button won't work, nor will the on/off button. I will not be purchasing this brand again. Very disappointed I'm afraid.

Smelly Smelly Smelly – So, I have had this machine for about 8 years - loved it ... but I have always followed all the instructions about keeping the door open, cleaning the detergent tray and the seals etc AND it stinks to the high heavens! Sounds Like An Aircraft Carrier – I brought this machine in June 2010, so it is now 4 years old. craft carrier and moves around my laundry like it is trying to waltz with my tiles. I have had like many others rust and mould build up which is really frustrating as I have taken extremely good care of this machine. I have done the cleaning of the machine and the soap drawer every week and always aired the machine by leaving the door open after every wash. The drum on this machine has gone out of whack or something, during some of my wash cycles the spin cycle is terribly unbalanced and I have had to re-spin the machine on numerous times as the clothes are dripping wet still and I am always very cautious as to how much I put into my load and I always try and even it out. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!!! I would not recommend this product to anyone. I am currently in the process of locating my purchase details and warranty to see what I can do about it as I took extended warranty at the time of purchase. This is really disappointing as I would have thought I would get a good 10 years out of it, like my Mum and Nan use to out of their machines. I have to say they do not make things like they use to. These days you are lucky if you get 5 years out of anything and that is with paying a good price and going with a better brand. I am now left wondering if going with a more expensive price and higher recommended brand if it is really worth it. Really review what you are buying before you purchase anything!!!

Was Perfect til it died. AQXXF 129 – I guess along with everyone else and after reading about the Ariston Brand I bought the machine from Harvey Norman about july 08. The spinning cycle now sounds like a jet is trying to take off in our laundry and washing can only be done in business… Read more

hours as the neighbours are complaining about the noise. I rang Ariston regarding getting a service and repair and informed after giving the lady some information and reading up online that it would be pointless to repair as it would cost me around $800 as it sounds like the bearings have gone. The bowl still swings around but even when the machine isn't on, manually swinging the bowl around just sounds like its dragging and the motion isn't smooth. Not news I wanted to hear being a single mother of five kids.

I hadn't imagined I would have trouble with the machine for many more years as externally the machine still looks amazing, and I did really have a good experience with it til I guess it just rusted out. Oh there was one other minor issue that didn't necessarily bother us too much, but at times it would notify us the machine only had 2 minutes left or similar, 15 minutes later still waiting for it to stop spinning to hang it out.

6 years worth of machine for $1700. I paid the money because I had a dreadful experience with my previous machine an LG that last just over 2 years, but at twice the price I still have to wonder if it was worth it, $280 per year. I still really liked it, but unfortunately will have to go for a cheaper option this next time especially at this time of the year.

AVOID WASTING MONEY – NEVER buy one of these machines! I believed the sales pitch at Harvey Norman. Just sorry I hadn't read these user reviews before I made my purchase. It was quite expensive and I had expected good service and longevity from it. Am now in the market for a new machine and before purchasing will look closely at product reviews from consumers rather than rely on the sales people.
