wow what a machine, bought new in 2012 – OK were do i start,i bought this machine new in 2012 after Long good service from my Bosch had it 10 Blissful years, alas they were too expensive to buy another so i looked around and got this Ariston ARF105 for about 850nzd which against Chinese versions was not a bad price,so after 8 years the brushes in the motor decided to pack in,(2020) so… Read more · 1
i got some of Ali express at 1/8 of the price they wanted here in Auckland so i bought 2 pairs (will change them in 4-5 years time as a service schedule),wallah took about 30 minutes to fit so away it went for another two years then got the H2O Water warning message solenoid Failure so again bought some new Ariston solenoids and a Ariston new water pump even though i didn't need it, but again these two with postage from UK were the same as buying just the solenoids here i NZ (ROBBING GETS),anyway all is now well in her ladyships palace except drum paddle has worn out, so i ordered 3 new ones today again from the UK as it was easy to get 3 again same price as one here in robbing bxxxxds new Zealand, this machine get used 4 times a week with full loads its been a cracker and spent about 130$ in parts over 10 years and hopefully i will keep this thing going for the next 20years,
Reliable machine with 1 issue – Bought new back in 2009 from Harvey Norman. The only issue I have found is a door lock problem rearing its ugly head about every 5 years. As it turned out the problem was resolved by replacing worn electric motor bushes. Have replaced 2 sets bought via the internet over the journey at around $30.00 a pair. Easy job to do & there is a you tube… Read more
video on how to do this. Did the last replacement in May 2021 & also replaced the 2 shock absorbers $60.00 which were shot. (the machine was vibrating badly). The machine still works perfectly after 12 years of moderate usage so I have no real complaints.
NEVER AGAIN – No wonder this model is discontinued. Washing o.k. Spinning terrible. On quite a few occasions the washing is still wringing wet. No, I do not overload the machine. Have to re-spin, which adds another 10 mins onto time. Huge spiel at Harvey Norman when I bought this machine. I should have gone the extra and bought the Bosch. Show details

Work horse – I bought this machine second hand on the auction, have it for 4 years, checked all programs for functionality, all works OK. Never had any problem with it. I will buy another if this one brake. Show details
Door Fault Error - Resolved Here are some tips – We have had our machine for 9 years, and it has worked perfectly. Very happy with this washing machine. Today the door fault error occurred. My husband thought the issue was the power board or the interlock. We took the machine apart and there was no issues with either yet the door lock fault error still occurred. After reading this site,… Read more
we found out it might be the bushes. My husband cleaned and swapped the brushes around, now the machine is working perfectly again. The cheapest and easiest option is to replace the brushes first. To do this, tip the machine on its side and the motor is at the bottom of the machine. Note for next time, make sure you remove any fabric softener in the machine first.
2013 Ariston 7.5kg Front Loader ARXF125 – Have had this for just over 5 years now, just out of warranty by 5 months & having my first problem. Water start to flow in & then suddenly stops...flashed H2o. So I restart the cycle & away it goes again until the end. I mostly use eco cycle( 30 min wash)... the problem is when its way into the cycle & this starts. I am in the process of finding a repairer atm so stay tuned. Show details · 1

Cleans ok. Unreliable timer – Ours cleans ok and has not broken down but when it says 2min to go, then shoots back up to 10min to go, I wonder if Microsoft built the software for this thing. Every single wash it drives us bananas waiting for the cycle to finish. I'd probably not by ariston again. Also, as time has passed, the water holes in which flush out the washing powder get clogged and need cleaning. This isn't too hard but it's a pain. Show details
Terrible machine – Terrible machine. The door sensor issue has happened to me just after our warranty ran out. Shame on companies that don't make appliances that last more than 5 years! Especially when it is usually cheaper to buy a new one than get it serviced! My Simpson lasted 10 years. Won't buy an Ariston again!!! Show details
Don't buy Ariston brands – Lucky for me I brought Product Care with this machine as within 4 years, it was blowing smoke and rendered unusable. The technician confirmed the fault to be a well known one (probably why it was discontinued) and that it occurs from the "arm" at the rear of the drum becoming worn and then essentially breaking, which then puts the drum off… Read more
balance and grinds against screws and rubber which in turn get a whole lot of electrical woes happening. When i asked what causes the arm to break, the list of reasons was extensive including using the wrong cycle for the kilos of clothes being washed which is all well and good, except this machine doesn't have a feature which shows how heavy your load is so you're almost doomed to fail.
Like others mentioned here, we were sold on this by Harvey Norman and to their credit, they were very helpful in helping us get it sorted with Product Care BUT it beggars belief why such a big company would throw their weight behind such an inferior brand and product. Have learned my lesson to check reviews before I make another purchase.

Simple and stylish – A simple and affordable machine that is serving the purpose in our house. Happy with the performance and the price. So easy to use the entire family is now sharing the chore of washing! Win , win! Glad we didn't stick with brands we knew and tried a new appliance. Show details
This washing machine is rubbish – This machine is the worst I have bought my previous whirlpool top loader had it for 15 years and still working when I sold it , and this machine the Ariston after 4years has stopped working and a year ago the dial broke it wouldn't tur,n what rubbish . And it takes half the day for a couple of loads . Show details
Terrible – I purchased my first Ariston in late 2014, the worker at Harvey Norman highly recommend it... 18 months later it stopped working, water would come in and it drained but would not spin, guy came out to look at it and said the motor wasn’t working so they replaced it with a new one. I had a amazing lady named [name removed] from Ariston helping me… Read more
and she was amazing and I had a machine within one day!
Another 18 months go by and same thing happens.. I rang Harvey Norman who said to ring Ariston which I did along with email and sadly [name removed] was on annual leave. I emailed them Sunday night and rang Monday but It took two days for them to put a claim in and I was having to constantly contacting them as I wasn’t hearing anything from them about the claim! Finally they put the claim in and I had someone out Thursday to look at it, the motor was gone again... the company who came out sent the report that afternoon.. I rang Ariston to say they where sending it ect and how important it was I needed a machine. I hadn’t heard anything by 12pm Friday so I call and they say no report was sent yet... so I rang the crew that came out to which they said it was sent the night before... call Ariston back and they have the report and where going to send out a new machine....which takes up to 5 days! It’s already been 5 days without a washer and a toilet training toddler and a 6 year. So I call Ariston and explain I do not want the same model as the issues we’ve had again and again.. had a really helpful lady who looked up what was in stock to find out there was no machines in stock and they would have to sent Harvey Norman’s a credit note for us which she did right away which was great... went in and select a new machine (not Ariston!!!!).
Issue I have here is I would had gone the whole weekend and who knows how long waiting for this machine that was being sent and there was no stock to send anyway? I felt like this time I was running around in circles with Ariston and it was so horrible and stressful!!
Not only the fact Of the machine breaking twice but the reason we didn’t purchase Ariston again was because I think it was terrible customer service!!
Honestly the first time was amazing and [name removed] made in so stress free.
This time they were so rude and unpleasant!
Loved it until yesterday – I have loved this machine, purchased in 2010 from Harvey Norman Mt Gambier. I especially liked the option to pause a wash cycle to add an extra item. I loved the was options and clean clothes. For some reason the machine now won't work past allowing water in. It doesn't seem to be able to spin. I can reset and select drain to empty water, so it… Read more · 1
seems that the pump is OK There are no kinks in hoses. I have used rain water for all washing. No evidence of rust. I would like to keep this machine as I would expect it to last more than 7 years. I haven't got my invoice with me but record of the purchase is on my file at Harvey Norman Mt Gambier.
Any ideas?

Works great – I usually use it on 30 minute cycle, clothes come out clean and quite dry. occasionally i use the white cotton cycle, which is a 2.5 hour cycle at 60 degrees and wow it is impressive how white and clean they come out from that. as with any machine, delicates and some knits do need to be put in laundry bags. once i put a knit in without a bag on a… Read more · 1
30 degree cycle and it lost its elasticity but that was my fault. every other time when i have used the correct cycle it has worked very well for me.
Endured years of frustration! – Door fault ERROR. The fault first appeared when the machine was under warranty, I arranged for a service call and they couldn't replicate the error so it was returned to me in the same condition. It only happens on longer cycles and occurs 9 out of 10 loads and is it really frustrating. The DOOR error occurs several times during a load. I found… Read more
the only way to correct it is turn the power OFF and ON at the wall for 10 second and press start (and wait for the annoying beep beep to do it again). A load of washing can take half a day...really frustrating! I have phoned Ariston countless times to report the fault, but no joy. I cannot recommend this brand. I purchased a lemon.
I should have known better, the first machine I purchased from Harvey Norman failed to wash after one load so they let me exchange it. I should have demanded a different brand.
Excellent. I use mine flat out (6 kids) and have never had a problem in 2 years. Very gentle on clo – Washes well. Not too noisy. Great range of cycles to choose from. Kid friendly (child lock protects control pad) reliable and easy to keep clean. I can fit a large load in my 7kg. Set and forget. Its awesome. My mum has one too and she had a minor problem after 8 months, team at ariston were on to it in no time. It was repaired within a couple of days. Show details
Ariston are a rip off – Got mine from Harvey Norman. All went well until warranty expired. $250 to get the brushes replaced because it would just stop at any stage of the wash. $200 to have washers replaced as water was not getting pumped into the drum. And now it's nots working again! Very bad product. I will never buy this brand again and recommend people stay… Read more

I have taken very good care of it. Regular cleaning etc. now all I want to do is take to it with an axe.
Waste of money – Owned this machine for 4 years the first 8 months the motor needed replacing then from then on Every year or so something else needs fixing and at quite a cost!! 4 years on second drain pump fault needing replacing unfortunately for us can't locate the part anymore Despite always checking filter and being careful on what might be in pockets… Read more

our machine has lots and lots of rust spots too????
it has cost us more in repairs than the machine was brand new!
Previous to the ariston we had a old simpson top loader washer that lasted 14 years with not 1 problem!
Disappointed we listened to harvey normans recommendation on this brand
big waste of money......
Broke after 4 years – Pump burst and barrel dropped. Called Ariston and they said it was out of warranty and they couldn't even send an electrician to look at it cause they didn't have one in our area. Often had problems with the lock on the door where it would lock and not open for a few hours. Mould problems too, which I couldn't seem to get rid of, despite regularly washing it out with bleach and leaving the door open between cleans. Show details
Waste of money – 1/2 died within 12 months and after a very sour faced Ariston tech tried numerous times and numerous things to rectify the led display (possessed) my machine was replaced. 2/2 just died tonight and I'm left with dripping clothes and a very smelly machine which IS rusted around the door opening and I've noticed other spots of rust appearing along… Read more
the bottom of the machine. I've also been mislead by misinformed sales people at Harvey Norman and I'm more annoyed at myself for listening at the very rehearsed sales pitch they delivered 4 years ago. I will NEVER again buy an Ariston ...going to spend the extra and go with a company that offer 5years on ALL parts and labour and a 25year warranty on the guts of the machine... SPEED QUEEN here I come.
I feel like i've been robbed - Twice! – Almost exactly same story - believed Harvey Norman on second buy and same thing happened. I don't care about the mould - in fact mine is not really mouldy at all. It's the door error problem right from start which I have been turning off and re-setting virtually since I got it. Now it won't work at all. ……. grrr - so annoyed (putting mildly). … Read more
The machine looks brand new as it has only been used maybe three times a week on light loads (as was the previous one). I actually can't recall exactly the date and year I purchased it - so the date is approximate. So frustrating.
Not very reliable – Initially we had problems with the 'lock' LEDs flashing. Then this stopped for a while. Next the belt came off the motor. I put this back on and it limped along for a bit longer. Now the machine just will not start, and always shows the 'Door' fault code. I changed the door interlock but it still happens. Show details

Rubbish – This machine lasted 3 years before giving out a fault code F-02. It needs a new motor, according to the tech a common fault on these machines. I would expect a washing machine used averagely (family of three) to last longer than 3 years. I won't be using Ariston again. Show details

It's all about the Maintenance GREAT MACHINE – I have had my ARXF125 machine for a quite a few years now I luv it. I never use fabric softener that's what cause the mould. You should use white vinegar instead. I run my machine through the hottest water cycle after scrubbing the rubbers with domestos every few months, no mould in my machine. It's all about the maintenance you look after it it looks after you. Show reply
I can see why this product has been discontinued! – Bought this machine in Harvey Norman in Sept 14, has mould inside the rubber rim, when you lift the rim its full of mould inside. The machine absolutely stinks, it leaves a horrible smell in the room if the door is left open. I've contacted Harvey Norman, who cant help, they gave me the number for Arisit, they say that they don't cover mould or… Read more

Very disappointed – I bought my first Ariston, a Margherita, at the end of the 90's and it worked perfectly till 2008 until I moved house and the stabiliser bars weren't put in. At the end of 2010 I bought my second Ariston. After 4.5 years I kept getting an error message and couldn't open the door. I was assured by an Ariston technian that it was the door lock,… Read more
which I purchased for $40. The repairer discovered it wasn't the door lock but the brushes. So, $240 out of pocket and the machine was going again. 4 months later, today, after starting a load and hearing an odd noise, I found the rubber had popped out from around the drum and an enormous spring had came out from underneath it. I now have a broken machine that is full of water and water logged clothes. In view that the machine only did 3 or 4 loads a week for 2 women, I think this is a disgrace product and I will not be buying Ariston again.

Mould – I am in shock at how much MOULD is left inside the rubber rim. I wipe it dry after each load & leave the door open but it makes no difference. Then recently I look beyond the grey rubber rim where it joins the metal inner part and the MOULD is like 1cm thick. I would literally need to take the whole thing apart and use gallons of bleach to clean it. So disappointed as I don't think it's fixable. Never will I use a front loader again.

2 yrs old and failed – For a 2-1/2 year old machine I am far from happy... Worst washing machine ever!!! – I bought an Ariston washing machine last year and it has given me nothing but trouble, the salesman at Harvey Norman made out it was such a good washing machine.. Very disappointed – The ariston does not rinse properly on the final spin and the clothes are not fully cleaned of washing powder leaving a white chalk residue even after trying different brands and using only a thimble of powder. Machine Breaks Down – Till first two years the machine was good. Now I am facing a problem in the machine which display as H20 after starting. Still I am not able to find the meaning of that. I tried to fix it out but it didn't work. Even I am not able to find anything on company website.
Avoid Ariston Always – The seal popped out within the first two weeks. A burning smell occurred whenever the hot wash was used. Then, the settings kept changing from what I selected. This was supposedly fixed while under warranty but still occurs now that the warranty has ended. I have to click start in a particular way to get the 30min cycle, because it keeps flicking… Read more
