Great shop,All artists should browse – I received a Gift Voucher fot Christmas for this store & was very happy with the way my items were available & sent to me via post, I have since visited this store & find it to have a good stock of quality paints (Art Spectrum) canvas boards & brushes etc. & it is run by a family, which I also found to be good at recommending particular art supplies.

What you pay is what you get, not just the product but the customer service too – They are good sometimes and other times they are unprofessional manner with an annoying poor customer service. The product quality is somewhat lacking, which can be a combination of transportation and other factors. I have shopped in the QLD location for years and never had any issues with customer service (Owners location). But the Melbourne store is a different story. I am a professional animator for a larger contractor overseas and in my spare time I design art pieces for private buyers. With a Masters and currently finishing my fellowship in the arts environment (education). Which is more then 20 years in the arts industry (more then 8 years of just painting) My advice is please go visit a few shops. I found shops like eckersleys to be very helpful and stock products that will make you enjoy art. Sometimes an artist or hobbyist can get annoyed or dishearted with using a product because of its natural quality. Most of the time we put it down to human error, but its not. Why do you listen to what the staff at Artshed tell you about the product? its in their best interest to sell you their stocked products. if the nature of the quality of the product is poor, it can dishearten your effort and the end result. Your time and effort is worth getting products that are of better quality then what Artshed Melbourne offer.
