I had problems with it constantly filling and draining and never doing anything, or it would fill and drain once, then stop forever. My problem was that the water inlet pressure was too high, it would spike above 145 psi (valve rated limit) when first turned on. It lasted for many years like this, but eventually I think the valve couldn't handle it, and let in too much water when it was open, causing the overflow protection to trigger and drain the tub.

Useless not worth the price – I know this review is late, but it has never cleaned properly. Had this since 2017 and over the last year have tried local service people which were absolutely useless. Throwing good money after bad I I tried to contact Asko Service head office and they only kept putting me in contact with a local repair man. They did not want to know about it. Now back to the drawing board.

Asko = high price and low quality – Bought this asko dishwasher in 2020 to replace a Westinghouse that worked well but finally failed after 10 years. Went to the good guys to buy a Bosch and they convinced me the asko was the better option. This dishwasher has always been a disappointment as it never seems to clean the dishes. Even on the longest 3hr cycle dishes come out covered in… Read more

grime. I have tried all the cycles with the same result. I have done some self diagnostics and found the water during a wash cycle to be cold. I rang asko service with my issue and sated that it has never cleaned dishes well. They were completely disinterested and would only put me in Contact with a local service centre who want to charge 170 dollar call out plus parts plus labour to repair. I explained that consumer law dictates that such an expensive device should last longer than 4 years but the asko service agent didnt care at all. I believe it was probably faulty from new. Unfortunately it’s not worth me repairing as I couldn’t even get a rough estimate on the cost, so will have to throw it away and buy something else. I remember seeing a 10 year warranty for asko products recently. I can’t see that being of any use to a consumer given my experience.

Avoid this brand at all costs – Bought Dishwasher in Nov 2019 , was advised this over a Bosch brand or Ariston at a way more exspensive cost . After just under 3 yrs this product stopped washing . Only comes with 2 yr warranty. So told I should have extended warranty, now have to pay to get repaired at at significant cost. Previous product I have bought Samsung , no extended… Read more

warranty and they came and repaired faulty fridge at no charge due to being only 4yrs old. Lg washer 3 yrs in leaks , lg repair at no charge as under 5 yrs old . So most overpriced white goods should last atleast 5 yrs. Would never buy this brand again over Bosch , Samsung Or Lg. Which respect customers and don’t cost double the price

Intermittently pulling dishes and glasses out with food on – Purchased one after getting 15 years astonishing service from the outgoing one. Within 2 months in of purchase 2016 I called a technician out because I kept catching the arms not spinning. Good, but pulled the pump, which I saw as weak on a good day, and put it back. "I I don not know what the problem is." But showed me the arms spinning. One… Read more

month later I called again. Same tech. Still did not know the cause. "Try using Finish cubes, that's what I do" (I was using Fairy which has soluble bags.) No pump replaced. But he was a good techie overall. Just weak design? Since then I have had to constantly check the arms for one, or more, blockages in the jet at the end. How could one hole make an arm stop? It can. I have learned to use a needle to coax insoluble white stuff out (non-greasy like tofu). I have always believed there was a blockage in the pump system somewhere and bits of blockage come out into the arms over the years. This theory may be totally wrong. But I now have to: 1. Pre-rinse any dish or glass that might have a grain of rice, or tofu, or a small fruit pip in it. 2. When dishes come out dirty I have to clean the arms including the little fixed one in the back right had corner, because that spray blocks too. 3. Clean the usual sump filters. 4. Then convince the often unresponsive touch-buttons (both can fail to respond) to go to "Rinse & Hold" and do a couple of rinses with the coupling arms off, for flow, and with them on. Then convince the touch control on the left to go back to the full two-hour cycle. This dishwasher frequently pleases with a remarkable ability to accept items in the top basket that you thought would never take it. (Yes I always spin both arms with the load in to make sure nothing it there to stop them.) But the water travelling around inside this machine is about as enthusiastic as a riding school horse. Would I buy another one? First I would research the company to see where the management or design culture changed just before 2016. I think the Australian distributorship is fine and I like the invitation they put at the foo of this thread. Well done Australian arm. But now I research any European product on Product Review because I have seen European cars fail (VW Golf injection and DSG gears), vacuum cleaners fail (VAX wash pump motor), microwave fail (Whirlpool intermittent stop) food mixers fail (Bamix seized!). Euro products to me have uniquely HIGH DURABILITY (strong bone structure and skin) but very LOW RELIABILITY (always, always they fail intermittently, so you never get a tech to find a reason except the Bamix). But I love them for their customer appeal. Have you heard the joke that Jaguar (before Ford ownership) try to sell you two Jags at once, so you can have one on the road and the other in the repair shop. Did you hear the one about VW supplying a free deck chair? To sit in while the roadside serviceman is puzzling under the bonnet. Wold I buy Asko/Asea (whatever) again? I would research a model that has been in production for 2 years.

Overall very happy - just a couple of little things – OK - so I really do love my ASKO dishwasher and it is only a few little things which stop me giving it 5 stars. I would recommend it, and I would buy another. The Good: 1. It is pretty quiet 2. It actually dries my plastics for the most part!! The old Bosch never came close. 3. It fits large wine glasses in nicely and I think it is… Read more

designed well to accommodate most types of household

dishes. Glasses come out nice and dry.

4. I can stack plates in every slot and it still cleans (with my old Bosch I had to leave a gap between plates to let

them get washed properly)

5. It has a cutlery basket - not a tray. Because my dishwasher is in the butlers pantry, it is important I have a

basket I can just carry out into the kitchen and put the cutlery away.

6. I haven't had to use the 'pot wash' cycle yet. I give my pots a rinse and put them in the normal "ECO" cycle and they clean up well. I once put a very dirty pot (unrinsed with dried up left over fettuccine in it) on the normal cycle - It did not come out perfect, but it was 99% clean. It just had a few pin size spots on the bottom that needed cleaning off.

The Bad.

1. The little pull out knife rack is pretty useless. It doesn't clean unless you have actually washed the knife before

putting it in there. I am not so worried about this as we aren't 'supposed' to put knifes in the dishwasher

anyway. There are some little slots up near where the glasses go which you can put 2 or 3 knifes in - these

perform better than the knife tray if I do not have too many glasses. I think I would rather these little slots also

be put down the middle of the top rack rather than where the glasses go.

2. The height of the top rack is not adjustable - I actually do NOT find this a problem as I have found the design of

the dishwasher really good for all my needs - just thought I would note it here as that may be an issue for some

people.

3. Long cycles - the ECO wash I use takes a couple of hours. Because it is quite quiet, I just put it on at night so it isn't a big issue for me.

4. Cutlery basket - it will clean most cutlery ok, but if you have a knife or fork that has something tough and dried on it, it will not always get this off. I have not yet seen a dishwasher that does, so I think this is just a fact of life rather than a design flaw on the part of Asko.

Superb Dishwasher – This is a superb dishwasher - very quiet, effective, thorough, and unobtrusive in design and performance. It has fewer bells and whistles, but doesn't require as much cleaning of the filters and sprayers as the Bosch we previously owned. All delivery and installation and call out service is done by ASKO, not a generic service. This is important… Read more

because we had some minor set up issues. The dreaded F14 error message came up, after troubleshooting the drainage and checking installation, ASKO decided to replace the machine with a new one. ASKO was instantly responsive, helpful on-site and phone assistance, with the error persisting, decided to replace the machine within 1 working day. So no horror stories here, quite the opposite: problem solved.

This machine is a workhorse, we run it every day. For regular loads, the glasses cycle (short, under 30 mins) does it all and has become our fast/regular wash cycle. It requires no fancy programming but a couple of button clicks to get it going. This seems to be its design strength: it's unobstrusiveness. It has far fewer lights and bells and LEDs than the others on the market, and the single sheet stainless steel front is clean and transparent.

We've owned Miele, Dishlex and Bosch - this one is the one. It does the job perfectly. Highly recommend the machine, the brand, and the local service team.

Question for Asko – The dishwasher seems to vent steam through the bottom of the front door, is this normal ? or has something come loose inside, your promo video seems to indicate that the steam should be condensed and then funelled back into the machine. ok - have to now add to the original post, got hold of ASKO and they were brilliant, emailed back and forth a… Read more

Frustrated – I have been experiencing the same problems as AS. below. As in, the dishwasher will not finish the load and starts back at the beginning again. microwave a few days later and the dishwasher reset again. After doing some googling, we found other reviews which stated Panasonic microwaves interfere with ASKO dishwashers... bingo. We called ASKO who sent a tech out which took about a week, only for him to tell us it's a known problem to ASKO and that solar panels, air conditioners and microwaves interfere with the control board of these models of dishwashers (with round controls). Not only that, but they actually corrupt it so even if it only happens once, the dishwasher will NEVER work properly again. Great. ASKO were supposed to call us to talk about our options (refund, or pay to upgrade to the next model) which never happened, it took multiple calls to finally talk to someone who said there was no record of a tech coming to our house, that we were liars and he hung up on us. 3 weeks and counting with no working dishwasher, and the WORST customer service ever experienced. I am glad that at least it happened straight away and not just outside of the warranty period. Why are ASKO happy to continue selling dishwashers that stop working if you have normal household appliances?
