Useless not worth the price – I know this review is late, but it has never cleaned properly. Had this since 2017 and over the last year have tried local service people which were absolutely useless. Throwing good money after bad I I tried to contact Asko Service head office and they only kept putting me in contact with a local repair man. They did not want to know about it. Now back to the drawing board.

Asko = high price and low quality – Bought this asko dishwasher in 2020 to replace a Westinghouse that worked well but finally failed after 10 years. Went to the good guys to buy a Bosch and they convinced me the asko was the better option. This dishwasher has always been a disappointment as it never seems to clean the dishes. Even on the longest 3hr cycle dishes come out covered in… Read more

grime. I have tried all the cycles with the same result. I have done some self diagnostics and found the water during a wash cycle to be cold. I rang asko service with my issue and sated that it has never cleaned dishes well. They were completely disinterested and would only put me in Contact with a local service centre who want to charge 170 dollar call out plus parts plus labour to repair. I explained that consumer law dictates that such an expensive device should last longer than 4 years but the asko service agent didnt care at all. I believe it was probably faulty from new. Unfortunately it’s not worth me repairing as I couldn’t even get a rough estimate on the cost, so will have to throw it away and buy something else. I remember seeing a 10 year warranty for asko products recently. I can’t see that being of any use to a consumer given my experience.

Avoid this brand at all costs – Bought Dishwasher in Nov 2019 , was advised this over a Bosch brand or Ariston at a way more exspensive cost . After just under 3 yrs this product stopped washing . Only comes with 2 yr warranty. So told I should have extended warranty, now have to pay to get repaired at at significant cost. Previous product I have bought Samsung , no extended… Read more

warranty and they came and repaired faulty fridge at no charge due to being only 4yrs old. Lg washer 3 yrs in leaks , lg repair at no charge as under 5 yrs old . So most overpriced white goods should last atleast 5 yrs. Would never buy this brand again over Bosch , Samsung Or Lg. Which respect customers and don’t cost double the price

Stay away from ASKO!! – We bought this dishwasher on the same day as our old one died so we wouldn't be without one for more than a day. From day 1 we were experiencing the dishwasher resetting randomly - no error code, just stopping the cycle, beeping, and resetting back to showing the full amount of time remaining. We couldn't figure out why until I went to use the… Read more

microwave a few days later and the dishwasher reset again. After doing some googling, we found other reviews which stated Panasonic microwaves interfere with ASKO dishwashers... bingo. We called ASKO who sent a tech out which took about a week, only for him to tell us it's a known problem to ASKO and that solar panels, air conditioners and microwaves interfere with the control board of these models of dishwashers (with round controls). Not only that, but they actually corrupt it so even if it only happens once, the dishwasher will NEVER work properly again. Great. ASKO were supposed to call us to talk about our options (refund, or pay to upgrade to the next model) which never happened, it took multiple calls to finally talk to someone who said there was no record of a tech coming to our house, that we were liars and he hung up on us. 3 weeks and counting with no working dishwasher, and the WORST customer service ever experienced. I am glad that at least it happened straight away and not just outside of the warranty period. Why are ASKO happy to continue selling dishwashers that stop working if you have normal household appliances?

Superb Dishwasher – This is a superb dishwasher - very quiet, effective, thorough, and unobtrusive in design and performance. It has fewer bells and whistles, but doesn't require as much cleaning of the filters and sprayers as the Bosch we previously owned. All delivery and installation and call out service is done by ASKO, not a generic service. This is important… Read more

because we had some minor set up issues. The dreaded F14 error message came up, after troubleshooting the drainage and checking installation, ASKO decided to replace the machine with a new one. ASKO was instantly responsive, helpful on-site and phone assistance, with the error persisting, decided to replace the machine within 1 working day. So no horror stories here, quite the opposite: problem solved.

This machine is a workhorse, we run it every day. For regular loads, the glasses cycle (short, under 30 mins) does it all and has become our fast/regular wash cycle. It requires no fancy programming but a couple of button clicks to get it going. This seems to be its design strength: it's unobstrusiveness. It has far fewer lights and bells and LEDs than the others on the market, and the single sheet stainless steel front is clean and transparent.

We've owned Miele, Dishlex and Bosch - this one is the one. It does the job perfectly. Highly recommend the machine, the brand, and the local service team.

Good – It's my fault. I admired our14 yr old Asko D3350 dishwasher, thinking what a great machine its been and if it died then I'd be very happy with its service. So then my thoughts killed the machine - the wash cycle pump was the problem and I weighed up paying for service and parts for something that's done its job and new would be a better… Read more

investment.

The reflex was buy Asko, after a quick survey of the models, I bought on line.

Then I read the reviews here and questioned my loyalty, - they weren't what I was expecting, after I'd paid but before I'd taken delivery. It was too late to change and I had that bad feeling for "doing the insurance renewal technique" and not looking into more reviews before hand.

The new Asko arrived, it was installed and then in-laws wanted our advice on what dishwasher to buy.

I couldn't give bad advice the in laws now (or could I?.....) so off to a large Harvey Norman showroom to do what I should have done in the first place and look at the options (and felt better for it).

Comparing Asko against others they are clearly better designed and constructed - better materials than 90% of those on display. Its arguable that others are equal or better - everyone will have their favorites.

The short list of the best became Asko, Miele, Bosch. This is why I'm glad I bought this Asko:

- More metal parts with less plastic: a lot more metal, the spinners - other brands felt like cheap plastic because they were (I don't like washing plastic in the dishwasher let alone it being made of lots of it.

- The top spinner is fixed plumbed: ie the pipes are fixed - no moving peipes, the top rack slides above it. In others the spinner is attached to the rack and slides in and out so needs to have a connection to get water - which is a weakness over time and lower water pressure for less cleaning.

- The Racks: (Everyone likes a good rack - this ones got pearlers:)). Asko racks are strong and designed to stack more. They roll with purpose. I've used cheap dishwashers before - they stack 30% less items in them - means more washing, more dishes in your sink waiting - using more water and power. They are simple and flexible in use, and top rack wine glasses holder do better than almost all the others - which seem to test the limits of crap plastic

- Turbo drying: - Don't buy a dishwasher unless it has this -a fan sucks out hot moist air after dishwasher the drying cycle. If the dishwasher doesn't have this then you need to unstack the dishwasher pretty much straight away - otherwise condensation makes everything feels humid wet (wet is not good here). This way you can turn it on go to bed, un-stack it 12 hours later - everything is crystal.

- Cutlery tray: its small (which is good), located in better place than the D3350 which was above the top rack at the top of the machine, It means that taller pots or other items in the top rack wont fit.

Now its below the top rack above the spinner and therefore doesn't interfere with anything.

Smaller is better here. I prefer the cutler basket than a tray - who wants to individually place a soiled fork one by one in a tray in its slot.

Other more expensive machines (including some Asko and Miele models) have elaborate cutleru trays that are impressive but limit the size of the plates and pots in the top or bottom rack.

- Quiet: the db rating is worse than I expected compared to others 46db - some others are 42db. I was disappointed with the number but impressed with the sound - better than in the D3350 which was already good - and I question if it was lower in db would it matter because its quiet enough.

- Energy and water rating - some others have better ratings - again disappointed with the stats but you can stack more in these machines than others and I don't know how they figure that in their numbers or not.

- Program / cycle options: its got enough - bit like a microwave - I only use 100% or defrost. This has 5 programs or so and I will probably only use 2. They made the quick rinse cycle 6 mins now versus 3.

- Speed - it has various cycles - the ones I use are 2 to 3 hours long - longer than I would like but the clean is good. Other brands suggest a fast cycle 45 mins - which would be good but I haven't seen the wash.

- Use. Used it about 20 times now. It cleans better than the old machine (that still performed well), you can feel it when you pick up glass and it squeaks.

- It looks clean in design, installs as easy as any other (the water hose is clearly a better quality though).

I've got a rule that a dishwasher will last for as many years as the price divided by a hundred. The last one was $1400 / 100 = 14 years. So you can choose do you want 2 crappy $700 dishwashers twice or one good one over the same time.

There probably are better machines out there - this is a mid range one for Asko- they are around $500 / 25% more expensive I would doubt they are that much better, but that would depend on the features you want - like big cutlery trays, or more cycle options that you wont use (but feel better that you have them)

So we recommended the same machine (but white) to the in laws and they bought one too - that way they have something to blame me for if in doubt.

Its good and still pleased with the decision (despite initial unwarranted buyers remorse) and would not change.

(Think bad things about your white goods and they will last longer)

Frustrated – I have been experiencing the same problems as AS. below. As in, the dishwasher will not finish the load and starts back at the beginning again. would ask such a question. The dishwasher had a full reset the first time and a replacement panel the second time. It is still doing exactly the same thing. It is only 18 months old. I rang Asko 2 weeks ago. Waited on hold for an hour. You can't book a service online because the website is not working properly. I rang the technician directly after waiting 10 days (because I had his number as he had been out twice already). He did not even have my job to do! I notice that they no longer sell this model.

Mostly wonderful – We love our Asko Dishwasher, it's easy to configure the bottom tray and the different programs for temperature and drying time. It washes perfectly and the drying time, once lengthened, is good for most things except a lot of plastic on the top. Sometimes it ends early if we open the door to put extra items in.  Show details

pantry which was why he didn't actually hear it, but he had complaints from others about this. He said people have to put the plug or a tea towel in the plug hole to reduce the noise. The Asko delivery man was over an hour late and it cost me $240 for missing a shift. He then said the machine installation was not like other machines and we should be getting him to install it at $160. (I question the hourly rate there.) I had been calling him to make sure he was going to be on time, within the 2 hour frame. I left messages that were not returned and he said he didn't get them because he leaves his phone in the car while on other jobs. The End Light does not click off which is a waste of electricity. The knife compartment on the bottom of the top shelf stops the dish on top being completely cleaned. I cannot get our cutlery in the narrow slots of the cutlery compartment. I have taken off the top of the cutlery compartment but as they now sit against each other and I have to hand wash them. I also find the controls a bit non-user friendly. All in all, I am disappointed as the machine was not a cheap one. I have had this machine for a week.
