Very substandard cooktop – We changed the cooktop as part of the kitchen renovation. The auto ignite for one burner packed up after 2 years and we had to use a lighter. Asko service went unanswered and we gave up. We called a technician(another company) after some time and they came, replaced the ignition with another companies model, but one main burner has stopped working completely. We are going to throw away the stove the earliest we can get another one to match the work top cavity.

Totally ripped off! – I purchase this cooktop 8 months ago. I have been disappointed from the outset with the burner intensity of the large pilot and wok burner. On making inquiries with ASKO I have been told that "The burner rate drops on LPG for the wok from 14.9 Natural to 11.7 LPG". This was never mention at the point of sale by the Good Guys. Also, my wok burner has now ceased to work. I have been told "The wok burner is not designed for prolonged high heat cooking with a large flat pan or pot as heat cannot escape (this should be done on the large burner)." This to me is ridiculous and nowhere in the User Guide does it recommend this. The trivet is supplied for wok use. When this is removed the wok burner should be built to withstand heat when using a regular pan. This is a major design fault. I would use the large burner if it emitted enough heat for very large pans. I have no satisfactory response from After Sales team at ASKO. They are sending a technician to fix the wok burner as apparently I have bubbled the outer ring and the cooktop is still under warranty. I have told be to only use the cheapest, thin wok on the burner and no flat bottomed pans. Can I also mention the burner looked old after 1 use. The brass ring totally discoloured. I am now contacting Fair Trading as I feel totally ripped off!
