Useful As A Door Stopper – My experience with this router has been nothing but misery. The router constantly drops out for no discernible reason. Everything appears to be fine, it looks like it's still working, nothing shows up in the logs but it just won't connect to any devices in the house. Sometimes it keeps the connection to some devices but drops others. This happens multiple times a day. No amount of troubleshooting has been able to isolate the problem, let alone fix it, except I found out many other Asus users also have this issue and nobody has any idea what's causing it, except for suspected terrible firmware. Asus support seems to have no idea either. At least now I know why it was so heavily discounted (50%) when I purchased it.

Beware: If you commit the sin of forgetting your Asus account login password (not for the router settings page, but for the inevitable app that you need to download for any kind of electronic product nowadays), the router locks you out. There is nothing to do but factory reset the whole device and start again from scratch. A password recovery email or backup security questions would be extremely helpful here! But nothing like that exists for the Asus router. In short, this unit is going to the recycling centre and I'm buying something else, anything but Asus. Do not make the same mistake I did: stay away from Asus.

Purchased in at Centre.com for $90.
