I did my homework and after visiting the showroom was convinced of the workmanship and ladder quality. In late 2023 i committed to a large attic storage conversion in my roof. There was some delays with several items, the tape liner and ladder but i did not complain as the team was always quick to advise of updates. The install was done and for the most part seamless. Until late last year we noticed the electrical connection and light switch was making a strange clicking noise which we foolishly dismissed. Recently the light switch stopped working altogether. So typically i checked the warranty on workmanship - 'two years'. I was just outside. The team refused to evaluate the connections (unless I paid more money) despite knowing how extremely dangerous it is to leave their electrical work in an unsafe manner. My warning would be if they are unconcerned by their unsafe electrical work, what else is hidden in their attic workmanship. They might seem like genuine trades but this turned out to be just slick marketing. Do your homework and possibly consider another provider. It sure looks like their competitors rate better on this review site.
I contacted Attic Plus who Ilume recommended as an accredited installer. I called them in August 2025. Difficult to contact via phone, follows up required to request a response and turned away after requesting an appointment from January 2026. A complete waste of time.
Follow-up · Attic Plus turned us away because they didn't have staff to complete the work - although they quoted (which I accepted) I followed up multiple times and eventually emailed advising they could not assist - even from 2026 when I advised I could wait. The experience calling Attic Plus was very difficult. They do not answer phones calls and want you to email them - but they ghost you, and you then need to make a further follow up. The customer service is terrible and you will just waste your time. They should not be promoted as an installer for the Illume because they have no capacity to commit. Look elsewhere. Considered other approved installers from Illume. One company suggested using an electrician (wouldn't inspect the job and wasn't interested). Another installer worked alone and his price was higher. Accredited installers are limited for this product. Seems like a great concept but not for retrofitting to an existing, double storey house.
