Do not buy, waste of money. After 5yrs of no heating I finally decided on this heater Big mistake, first time I turned heater on it leaked oil all over my carpet so not only do I have a heater I can't use I now have a big puddle oil stain on my rug.
The first point I wish to mention is that I was provided this Oil Heater free of charge via the Product Review Ambassador Program to test and provide a review.. I can assure the reader that my personal integrity is not for sale and I will provide an honest assessment of my opinion on the heater. The heater I received is the 11 Fin, 2150W - 2400W… Read more
model number ACOC2411. It was delivered in its original packaging and I would note that there is very little “ballast” or protection provided in the box to prevent damage whilst in transit. But 99% of the packaging was recyclable.
The heater required a small amount of assembly, that being the two feet and associated wheels. The wheels were a press fit and the feet attached via two (supplied) screws. You will need a Phillips head #2 screwdriver or a flat bladed one if you use the tamper proof screws provided. Whilst on the subject of the feet and wheels, I did find that whilst their placement and width provided ample stability the wheels are very small and do not roll as well as might be expected. The unit will however - with a little effort and guidance - move about. On stability, there is an anti tilt switch fitted and should the heater fall the unit will shut off. Also on the subject of portability there is a recess on one side and none on the other. The recess is fitted with an inner plastic liner with straight sides and top, that is to say, there is no place for the fingers to grip internally so as to pull the unit, and with there being a recess on only the one side nothing to lift the unit other than just taking a hold along both sides. Though it is not heavy and the sides do not get hot so this is not a game changer.
Switching the unit on is simple via a large black button on one side below the digital readout and easily operated. Once depressed the digital display will chime & illuminate. It shows another on/off (standby) symbol together with heating options, timer, brightness, Wi-Fi and child lock indicator. These are all easily operated by touch or you can pair the unit with your phone via a downloadable App and operate the unit via Wi-Fi. I didn’t’t try the latter. Firstly I didn’t see the need to get my phone out, open up an App and control the heater when it was right there in front of me. Also I am not too sure where I stand personally on appliances linked to my home network. The heater being an oil filled radiant style heater also does not require constant or even regular adjustment. The heat provided is very subtle and takes time to fill a room as there is no fan assistance.
Performance - I was disappointed. The enclosed brochure/instruction manual stated that the heater was suitable for rooms up to 35 cubic metres. My house is open plan so it was pointless using it in the lounge/kitchen/living area which was clearly vastly in excess of the nominated area. So I placed it into one on my bedrooms which had a 37 cubic metre space. Prior to using the heater in this room I measured the temperature at 18 degrees and then set the heater to 25 degrees, turned it on closed the door and came back three hours later to a room measuring 19 degrees. So this is definitely not a heater you would want to come home to with a cold house turn it on and expect it to get warm anytime soon. I would suggest is is more of the style that should be left operating continuously. Which brings me to another important question how efficient is it cost wise? Maximum power usage is 2400kW = 2.4kWh per hour, my provider charges 0.3168cents per kWh so that’s 76 cents per hour on max. Not much? Use it 8 hours a day over a three month billing cycle and that equates to $547+ not counting whatever else you turn on. I am able to measure my house current draw via an app related to my solar installation and when I turned the heater on max. It showed an increase of 1320kW. So I am not sure as to why it didn’t draw the mentioned 2400kW.
Safety - I think the heater would be very safe. Whilst the instruction manual stated to keep all objects at least 1 metre away I placed it 400mm from a plasterboard wall and after three hours the wall was barely warm to the touch. I did measure the heaters external temps with an Infrared heat gun and found it maxed out at 73.5 degrees. At turn on temp it was 15.5 degrees and after 10 minutes it was measured at 45 degrees. So it does heat up quickly. If a child was to touch the heater they are more likely to get a scare than a burn.
In summary - If you are considering a heater to turn on for short periods of an evening. This heater is probably not what you require. If your looking to warm a small office area (or similar) over a long period then this Oil Heater may be a better option. It’s certainly not one to come home to in a cold house, turn it on and expect anything soon.
I found that online the heater retails for $172.
Its what was stated. worked well Recommend for cheap Constance heating Show details
The first heater I received had oil leak, so a replacement has been sent to me. Not sure if this is an one off issue from Courier not handling the delivery properly or Manufacture quality control issue. The design is slim, sleek and compact. The wheel moves smoothly and the heater can be packed in the corner or cupboard easily when not in used. … Read more
I don’t mind the colour which is a dark grey, however a choice of a lighter / more neutral colour might be better as it will blend in with the room décor.
It has a digital touch screen control face that is easy to operate. It is also handy that I am able to control it on my phone APP. Connecting to the AP is quite straight forward, however it will only works with the home wifi, so you don’t have control of it if you are not home.
It has 3 heat settings. I personally did not feel the 3-heat setting made much noticeable difference within the selection.
It comes with 2 years warranty, but extended to 4 years once you register the product online. To be able to get 4 Years warranty on the oil heater I thought was very good.
The heater itself is very quiet when in use. It’s not as hot to the touch compare to the traditional oil heaters, which is a plus point. I also like the safety function of overheat protection and tip over switch, which added peace of mind if you have children or pets.
I use it in the bedroom that is around 20m2 in size, and found it takes forever to heat up the room even with the door closed. I normally leave it on at 29C and after 2 hours the room does feel warmer, but did not give me the toasty warmth I was looking for. This was disappointing. Perhaps if they had send me the larger heater (11 Fin rather than the 7 Fin) would have done a better job.
I would recommend this if you are heating up a very small room, and does not expect instant warmth. It is super quiet with the timer and you can adjust the brightness of the display (even turn it off if you need a dark room for sleep). To be able to turn the heater on or off from your phone APP without getting out of the bed is a plus.
Provides a safe ambient warmth through these colder days. Easy to order. Prompt delivery. Took a while to assemble but it is very steady. Show details

Ausclimate ACOC157 – 1500w – 7 Fin Oil Heater ausclimate.com.au/products/smart-enclosure-oil-filled-heaters-7-fin I received this unit to review through the Ambassadors program. I live in a fairly cold climate so I generally have a wood heater running to warm most of the house and smaller heaters in the rooms to take the chill off. If I can… Read more
maintain the rooms at around 20Deg I'm pretty happy. While the house has some insulation in the roof, only the rooms I've renovated have wall insulation.
Upon arrival, the packing seemed OK - no damage. Although it did look like it had been opened previously and the cord wasn't wrapped? Inside, there's an instruction manual on assembly and usage which was easy enough. It comes with plastic feet and some very cheap wheels. Screws were already in the bottom to use and also supplied with anti-tamper screws. The first that will probably break will either be the plastic feet or casters so why would you use anti-tamper screws? The metal screws already in the bottom where also partially stripped (again, why was it open)? I ended up having to move the screws around for them to tighten.
DESIGN The unit is designed by Ausclimate and made in PRC (a little misleading with their branding but whatever). Comes in a Gun-Metal grey colour (if you like that sort of thing). With light coloured walls this thing stands out like the proverbial dogs. The oil fins are surrounded by metal panels (presumably to stop hands getting to the fins and burning themselves. The issue with this is when dust settles in the fins, you'll need to take the unit apart to clean properly - to do that you'll need a magnetised philips head screwdriver yo remove the 8 top and 8 bottom screws. The recommended just vacuum the dust out from the instructions won't hold up and you wouldn't be able to fully access it. There's a recessed handle on the opposite site of the controls. Unfortunately its just that - recessed with nowhere to actually grab it to move the unit. So I generally resorted to waiting until it cooled slightly and then used the cut outs of the surrounding panel to move it. There's also nowhere to wrap the cord when the heaters not in use. The wheels on the unit feel cheap and don't move well. The plastic feet they attach to don't hold the unit level and it rocks even on a level floor (see video).
CONTROLS To initially turn the unit on, there's a big black button on the front that just sort of flops about and doesn't seem to attach to the actual switch. Once there's power, you need to hit the touch standby switch to actually turn it on. There's 4 heat settings (Anti-Freeze, H1, H2, H3). Anti freeze keeps the unit at 7Deg apparently. At this stage, no idea what H1/2/3 correspond to from the instruction manual and nothing on the Ausclimate site. Because the unit has a "metal panel shield" around it I couldn't feel the difference in heat settings. I assumed H3 was High as it was a little hotter. I got in contact with their support who confirmed H1=Low, H2=Medium, H3=High. You can set the brightness of the front controls in 2 stages and then to off. This button also doubles as the Wifi Connect. There's a timer function and temperature setting is adjusted using the touch +/- buttons to go up to 35Deg max.
FUNCTIONALITY The unit itself is easy enough to operate whether you're using the front panel or app (other than what H1/2/3 stand for - Anti-frost was self explanatory). The heater is supposed to be able to heat up to 20m2. First test was in my home office (11m2). It's the coldest room because it's in the corner. Firstly, I got the room to 20deg with my old heater (using my temperature gauge for reference). Then set the new heater on 35Deg and H3. It seemed to get to a certain internal temperature and throttle. It couldn't maintain 20Deg and the room soon fell to an uncomfortable 14 deg within about 2hrs (outside temp was 2 or 3 deg). I tried closing the door and still couldn't heat - Fail! To be fair, my 5-fin won't do it either and I generally use a 2000W convection heater with a fan instead that can maintain 20Deg (even with it being minus temperatures outside). Next was in the bedroom (which has insulated walls and is 13m2). I put the unit beside the bed (like I previously did with my old 5-fin). With my temperature gauge as a reference, set to unit to H3 and 33Deg (33 incase the unit throttles at max temp). Again, it wouldn't hold the temperature and the room went down to 12Deg overnight (see photo). In comparison, my cheap $30 Click 5-Fin 1000W heater will keep the same room at about 16Deg.
APP and CONNECTION The unit is able to be connected to your local WiFi via the Bluetooth quick connect. First download the app from your store (iPhone or PlayStore). Once installed follow the registration instructions. To pair the unit - the Wifi symbol on the heater should be flashing (if not press Brightness for 3-sec). Turn on you phone Bluetooth and pair with the heater. Initially when I did this I got an error "Failed to add the device". I tried again and still wouldn't connect. I restarted the app and it connected fine. In the app, it actually does show you which settings are Low/Medium/High. Pressing these on the app will change them on the unit (so I was able to find out even before support got back to me what H1/2/3 were). Because this only works on your local Wifi, you're not able to turn the unit on to pre-heat if you're not home. Maybe you can with something like Alexa or Hey Google - I don't use these so wouldn't know. The only way would be using the timer to switch on at a certain time.
SAFETY The unit comes with what seems like a a heat proof cable (nice). As previously stated - the fins are covered by an external panel. There's also an anti-tip switch in case the unit falls over.
WARRANTY and SUPPORT The unit comes with 2yrs and 4yrs if you register. While I did get an answer from Ausclimate support - it took up to 11 days. When I replied the same day, I'm still waiting on a response to that (11th day again today as I write this). Even though in my initial query I said I was reviewing the unit so you would think they'd want to make a good impression? Seems not. To me, anything nearing 1-2 weeks is just bad customer service.
FINAL THOUGHTS While the design looks decent and there's some fancy home automation connections, the main function is to heat. Does it do that? Yes but not particularly well. The amount of heat that comes off it is barely enough to even maintain the room temperature (even on maximum). Forget about it if you live in any sort of cold region (I'm actually a bit surprised they didn't send me the 11 fin instead considering the geographic). But still thought a 7-fin would be enough to at least maintain a constant temperature in a bedroom if left on during the day. And with that it failed miserably. While the automation and touch buttons add a little class to the unit, they would have been better off putting that towards making the unit heat better. For the RRP of $249 RRP ($199 on sale) puts this in the very upper limit of heaters. And with the heating capabilities not there, flimsy feet and castors I couldn't recommend this heater for any purpose in a 10m2 room let along up to 20m2.
It was faulty. I set the temperature to 25 degrees and it didn’t produce enough heat to warm a 10 square foot room. The room temperature was 15 degrees when I turned on the heater at 3 am, it dropped to 14 degrees when I woke up at 7 am.
We received this unit as part of the Ambassador Program and we've been testing it out for 4 weeks now (it's late June 2025 now). First up, points off for it arriving damaged. It came with a dent on the bottom of the short side opposite the control panel. The packaging was minute compared to the Ausclimate panel heater. Barely any cardboard. Mind… Read more
you, the box wasn't damaged - which makes me think it came out of the factory this way. Maybe Ausclimate needs to work on QA? Other than that, it looks nice enough - if you like a grey, steel box in your room. And the wheels are quite stiff. Compared to the panel heater, where the wheels move smoothly, this unit is quite difficult to move around. Plus it's so big, with 11 fins and just one handle on the side, it's difficult to drag around once it's heated up. All this aside, for a 2400W heater, I expected some really good heating power in a bigger space. But no. The 2000W Ausclimate Panel Heater could slowly heat a 70 sqm room, but using this unit? The room just got colder. However, used in a 15-20 sqm room, it's great! It keeps an even heat and is super quiet - and it doesn't smell (other than the first time it was used, but that's to be expected). But for the power drawn, I think this unit is a waste of money (it's $300 RRP). For a 15-20 sqm room, a smaller finned heater would work just as well. And for a far cheaper cost! Or for a larger room, spend another $200 and get a 2000W Ausclimate Panel Heater! That heater works well! I wonder if having the effective cage around this Oil-Filled Heater seems to dampen, not expand the heat? The heater still gets very hot, but somehow, the cage seems to absorb the heat, not transfer it to the air. The other small fin heaters we use don't have this cage around them, and they heat rooms just as well as this monstrosity of an oil-filled heater. The good point is that the control panel is WAY easier to use than the Panel Heater! But still more complicated than a standard oil-filled heater. The timer is really easy to use, and works well. Heat settings are easy to change, too. We don't use phone Apps so I didn't test the weekly scheduler - but I wouldn't use that, anyway. How do you know you're going to want it on every night at a certain temperature and time? Weather changes from day to day! My son does not like that the night light on the heater stays on all night long. He finds that really irritating. He likes a dark room. However, it means you can find the heater in the middle of the night! Horses for courses, I guess. Overall, for $300, I don't recommend this heater. It draws too much power for heating too small an area. It also arrived damaged, the packaging is minimal and the wheels are stiff. For people who like complete IT control over all their appliances, then maybe this unit would suit them, but I like simple appliances, especially when it comes to heating. And in this day and age where finances can be tight for people, this oil-filled heater is an extravagance that does not live up to its expectations.
We received both this unit and the Ausclimate EcoSmart Pro Medium 1500W Panel Heater to review as part of the Ambassador program. Comparatively, if you are trying to decide between the two units, the quality of the heat from this unit is better. It’s difficult to quantify, but it just feels nicer – more akin to the heat from a fire. It’s… Read more
fantastic at maintaining a good, level warmth, though can be a little slower to bring to heat. It is designed to be used to maintain the heat in a room, rather than to quickly heat it. It is a simpler unit - less fancy settings etc, but this isn't a detractor as far as I'm concerned. It is also far more affordable, at about half the price of the panel heater. See further details below.
This is a nicely made unit. The quality of the wheels are a bit cheap, though they assembled easily. We’re perhaps a little concerned about the quality of the plastic i.e. if it would stand up to long term use over several years.
We’ve never owned nor used an oil heater before, and my husband in particular was quite skeptical. He’s always thought they were too expensive to run, and not as effective as other heating devices. While our energy bills have definitely gone up, they have not gone up too exorbitantly since we started using these units.
We use this Oil Filled Heater in a medium sized bedroom, in an older, raised timber home in the Mid-North Coast region. It’s been such a God-send over the past few weeks with the sudden chill we’ve been experiencing, so this unit has definitely had its work cut out for it! It maintains a good warmth, especially considering our windows are older without proper seals! Some windy nights we even hear the wind whistling in. Our bedroom door stays open all the time, and we have doors to our bathroom and walk in robe also open when it's in use, and it still maintains a comfortable heat.
This unit runs very quietly – we literally do not hear it aside from small ‘clicks’ when its cooling down after we’ve turned it off.
It has less flexibility in the settings than the Ausclimate EcoSmart Panel Heater, and the settings are far more simplistic, but this doesn't bother us at all as we don't really use a lot of smart tech in our home.
The app was easy to install, and very simple to sync to the heater - probably simpler to sync this one than the panel heater.
You can choose from 4 heat settings – Low, Middle, High & Anti-Frost (Anti-Frost maintains a temperature of 7 degrees Celcius). The temperature range can be set from 5 to 35 degrees Celsius. The heater will switch itself off when the heater reaches the set temperature, and will switch on and off automatically to maintain it.
This unit does come with a 24 hour countdown timer, and you can pre-set it to switch off automatically from between 1 to 24 hours in 1hr increments.
The display screen isn’t overly intrusive, but the brightness settings can be set to 4 varying levels, and it also comes with a very handy child lock.
* Small Con when using - I had to run it outside initially, to burn off the 'plastic' smell, but this did not persevere for long. It currently has no smell whatsoever when it runs - and we are particularly sensitive to smells.
Overall, I find this heater easy and pleasant to use, and I'm really happy to recommend it, particularly if you don't care about all the bells & whistles and fancy settings.
In summary, so long as you don't expect the rapid heat response of an element style fan forced heater, the Ausclimate 11 Fin Oil Filled Heater works very well and reliably. With the exception of the built-in WiFi which was a little flaky at times. It has more than enough performance to warm up a decent sized room to a very comfortable level, while… Read more
not pulling a massive amount of power. We feel it's probably more suited to rooms requiring extended periods of heating as opposed to ad-hoc heating such as in bathrooms, etc.
First impression on unboxing wasn't stellar, the unsealed box looked like it had been opened previously and a single plastic strap re-affixed with a clear indentation left in the carton that there had been a second strip at some point. There was no protective packaging in the carton, which resulted in quite a bit of damage to the top, probably not helped as it's quite a substantially sized and weighty unit.
The unit is quite hefty, and has a single handle indent on the rear, which for most people once the wheels are affixed would be more than adequate to move it around, but carrying it is a different matter, as you end up sticking fingers through the fins to hold with your other hand, and it's not a very comfortable affair at all doing that. A second handle grip on the front would have been a great idea I feel and made it far less cumbersome to manhandle.
Connecting up to the WiFi was a very simple and straight forward affair. Having it remain working on WiFi however we found was a bit of a problem, as it dropped out and became "offline" several times, requiring a "reboot" if you will, unplugging and re-inserting the plug into the power socket whereupon the unit's WiFi immediately came online. Working on WiFi when it was working was absolutely fantastic though, being able to switch it on while watching a film to warm up a room for later use was invaluable to us. Our bathroom gets extremely cold during winter, despite the heating, so this was a very much appreciated aspect. And setting the timer to turn it off automatically was a great idea, as it didn't matter if the last person using the room forgot to turn it off.
I do feel though it could have really been improved dramatically by not only having the ability to set a timer for up to 24 hours to turn it off, but also a timer to turn it on would be an absolutely invaluable feature. I can understand from a safety point of view why this simple feature wouldn't be implemented however.
The family loved having it in the bathroom and it did a superb job of warming up the room surprisingly fast, not as fast as a fan heater but still better than I expected given our previous experience with oil filled column heaters. If you forgot to turn it on to warm up beforehand though, there was no point switching it on unless you were going to be using the room for quite some time.
In short, it's very functional, it works well, albeit it takes some time to warm up which is not a fault but simply the result of the technology, and it holds the heat really well. One aspect we really appreciated was the outside didn't get scalding hot which was a surprise. So there was no risk of bad burns occuring, which for anyone with young children is a very important factor. The integrated "Smarts" could be improved with better and more reliable remote control ability, but again, being able to control it from the phone is an extremely useful and handy feature. And being an oil filled heater, there is zero noise, which is just superb, so we were able to use it in the lounge while watching films with no annoying distractions. Fan heaters give an immediate result, but we definitely love the features an oil filled heater bring.
I don't think I would buy another of the same model heater as one on wheels being mobile is adequate for most scenario's, but given how the technology has improved from the old column heaters we used as children, I'd certainly consider one of the wall panel heaters for a permanent installation.

Ausclimate ACOC157 – 1500w – 7 Fin Oil Heater ausclimate.com.au/products/smart-enclosure-oil-filled-heaters-7-fin I received this Ausclimate ACOC15678 as part of an Ambassadors program in exchange for review. Ive now had it for a few weeks and used it daily during that time, including in -5, yes minus 5.. So a little about ‘us’, we are a family… Read more
of 4 with two young children, we live in an everyday house in a regular suburb of Eastern Australia, although we do see 0 to -10 temperature range during the coldest parts of winter, and regularly in the -1 to -5 range. Which has it has been pretty much daily in this past couple of weeks or so of June.
The unit comes well packaged, and reasonably protected, but nothing special. The heater looks pretty good, has a nice colour that will suite almost any homes colour palette. It does only have 1 side handle rather than each end. Its size is: 35cm wide x 26cm deep x 64cm high. Depending on how you look at width/depth etc.
It comes with a 2-year warranty and if you register it on the Ausclimate website, they give you an additional 2 years for 4 in total. It retails at $249 and has been on sale for $199.
When unboxing the unit, we found the feet, caster wheels, 4 screws and a reasonable instruction booklet. Considering some manuals these days are very lacking, it was nice to have one reasonably detailed. So you have to (on a soft surface) tip the heater upside down, remove 4 screws, and screw on the feet and push on the caster wheels. The 4 screws in the package are not required due to 4 screws already being in place. Once done, sit upright and let the internal oil settle. As long as your floor is reasonably level the heater isn’t too wobbly, but a bit of wobble is fairly common with these types of heaters.
When plugging in for the first time, I found that the cord came out from the bottom, on the side where the display is, this kind of means that the unit mostly has to face away from you towards the power point, depending on its location. I think the cord is a little short at approximately 1.5m in length. It would have been better if the cord was routed (protectively) underneath to come out the other side and could have been a least 50cm longer, maybe 2m length. Just a minor inconvenience really as you need to be mindful of where you want to place the unit.
It has a number of ways to turn it on/off, firstly, there is a black physical button, which I felt was a bit rudimentary in its working action, it certainly did not feel positive and was a little loose in its feel. But it does the job. Secondly, once that is turned on, there is a touch control panel with its own on/off, as such you don’t need to fully turn the unit off and lastly, there is the smart functionality of the heater. And you can turn the heater on and off, make changes to settings and heat output etc, even if you are not at home.
We downloaded the Ausclimate app from google play store, which was about 76.4mb in size. It was very easy to navigate to create an account and link the heater to. Each section in the setup process went smoothly and it connected quickly. We even linked it to Google and Alexa.
I was mostly interested in using the smart features to have the heater turn on and begin heating the master bedroom/ensuite at a set time in the morning, as during our -5 days its extremely cold in the house, (our water can freeze in the pipes). I struggled with this setting in the app for the first couple of days, this was due to me thinking it was set and yes it was, but I had not selected the setting before going to bed, its not automatic.. so even if its I set in the app, you must select the function to turn it on. Once I worked that out, it worked extremely well, and I think the only improvement here rather than only selecting a start on time that’s only from on the hour, 4am, 5am, 6am, etc to either 15m or 30 minute increments or at best, use a scroll wheel system like you can in the ‘scene’ selection part of the app to choose any time. For example: Maybe 5am isn’t early enough, but 4am is too early and 430 would be perfect. Other than that the app works extremely well and is reasonably intuitive.
You can also turn the heaters display on or off or brightness up or down, turn the child lock on or off, adjust the temperature, setup an auto off time, in 1 hour increments up to 24 hours, setup (in hourly increments) when you want it to turn on each day of the week and multiple selections can be done for individual days – this is great!..
The external protective covering of the heater doesn’t get too hot to touch, so its reasonably safe, and keeps the heating fins safe inside from any damage. The unit has a tip over switch to turn it off in case its 'tipped over'. The enclosure is flame retardant etc.
While it isn’t for big rooms, it does take the chill out after its been on for a while. They say for rooms upto 20m2. It works best and heats well in average to smaller size bedrooms, bathrooms. And typically, with oil/convection heaters, you need to leave them on for best results, they are not a turn on instant heat thing, more of a slow heat and then maintain heat over a longer period of time and should be cheaper than small instant blow heaters which are typically expensive to run.

I was given the opportunity to review the Ausclimate Heater. Firstly, i must say how far oil heaters have come over the years. Let’s talk about the ACOC2411 11 Fin. Aesthetically it is well designed to accomodate many users. With the ease of the rollers to move around and also slender in stature. Upon removing from the box, all in tact except… Read more
having to attach the rollers. With the ACOC2411, it comes with WIFI ( users choice of use). I must admit, it did take quite a few attempts to connect to the WIFI. (Best to turn data off when installing)
The unit itself is quiet and sufficient if used correctly. As stated, can be moved from room to room. Our home consists of 4 bedrooms, 3 with floor boards & 1 with tiling. As we live in a bungalow, rooms are big and surprisingly this worked well. No need to have it positioned next to you. We also tried in our family room which is exposed ( door entries) and worked to its best ability. Initially, I had under the window but moved towards near one of the door entries Allowing for all the room to warm up. Is this a match to central heating or reverse cycle - no. They both work on different variables. The use of a portable heater is you have the choice of which room you occupy, hence saving on unused rooms.
Cost wise, we estimate approximately 50 -60 cents p/h. As we have a back up battery we roughly worked on cost. This also varies on Solar charge/rebate etc.
Overall, this is doing what it is designed for. Comfortable body temperature and again no need to waste on unused rooms etc. advantage of 2 year warranty which helps as this is also seasonal. When not in use, switch off and have in room.
The size is perfect for a small bedroom, we use it mainly in our daughter’s bedroom, as she has the coldest room in the house! The heating is solid I would say. It does NOT work as well as our central heating/air-conditioning unit I dare say, but that is a much stronger system. With this heater, we can literally just turn it on, without using up… Read more
so much electricity as with the central heating. Around the heater, definitely, it’s much warmer, and the heating fades as you go away from it. The room can get nicely toasty though, if you give it a bit of time. It’s great for sleep, because it is silent most of the time. It’s easy to use – we can use the buttons on the machine, or even easier is to download and link the Ausclimate App (a simple process), and we can control the heater from our phones. We can choose when to turn it on and off, what temperate (goes up by single degrees (no half-degrees) only) to set it at, and there’s even a timer function so we set it to turn off in a couple of hours usually, which is super useful as we can do it just before we sleep! The app and machine is simple, not too complicated, which is how I actually like it. We feel it’s quite safe as well, and happy to leave there in the room, even with our young daughter who can go up to touch it. The heater can get a bit warm around, especially on top, and you probably wouldn’t want to touch it, but it’s not too bad. You can put your hands physically on the heater for 3-5 seconds and it’s warm/hot, but definitely not close to burning or anything like that I would consider problematic. This is a good-looking, sleek, small, silent portable heater, that has some basic smart features. It’ll heat up a small room slowly and nicely, however, I would say this is not for you if you’re looking for something for a medium or larger sized space.

Know better, choose better.
What I Liked: * Delivery & Packaging: Excellent delivery service—the driver actually buzzed and handed over the package. It was well-packaged without being wastefully overpacked. * Easy Assembly: Setup was fairly simple, requiring just four screws to attach the castors and brackets. * Design & Aesthetics: The matte gunmetal finish is inoffensive… Read more
and should fit comfortably in most spaces. * Heating Performance: Once the room is warm, it maintains a steady, even temperature in the transpersonal seasons when you just want to take the chill off the air and provide mild warmth without resorting to expensive gas heating. * Digital Controls: The control panel is intuitive, with a straightforward, easy-to-navigate menu. * Quiet Operation: Virtually silent, aside from the usual soft ticking at startup that’s typical of oil heaters. * Power Modes: Can be set to standby or fully powered off directly at the unit. * Temperature Range: A generous range up to 35°C makes it versatile for both warming up and maintaining comfort across seasonal changes. * Portability: It’s noticeably lighter than older-style oil heaters, making it easier to move—especially useful if you have stairs. That said, the reduced weight may come with compromises in build quality. What Could Be Better: * Build Quality: While it sits nicely in a space, up close it feels a bit cheap. During unpacking and assembly, I noticed rough finishing on the metal base and some misalignment in the outer housing at certain angles. * Plastic Components: The castor wheels and brackets are plastic—which is a concern on a heat-generating appliance. The wheels also feel wobbly and not especially durable. * Wi-Fi Feature: Clunky and unnecessarily complicated. The app setup wasn’t smooth and didn’t add much value. * Initial Burn-Off Smell: The first few uses released strong, unpleasant fumes. You’ll need to run it in a well-ventilated space for about 10 hours before it’s suitable for enclosed indoor use. * Winter Heating: Even on the maximum setting (35°C), it took 30–45 minutes to heat a small double bedroom in winter of 10 sqm, so it’s not a fast heater and also had trouble on the cold days getting the chill off the air completely. I could still feel the chill through my shins and hands. It is a personal heater that needs to be right near you and won’t necessarily heat the space itself. * Timer Functionality: Really overcomplicated beyond what it needs to be.
Final Thoughts: This heater likely won't cut it during actual winter months for a room up to 20 sqm, especially in what is for most Australians open-plan living of often poorly insulated built homes. However, it is a great trans-seasonal unit, probably great for daytime use in a small room that gets plenty of sunshine and during the shoulder seasons.
At $250, it sits at the higher end of the price range for similar-quality options on the market. While it offers useful features like digital controls, a timer, and lighter weight for portability, there are comparable alternatives available at lower prices. It doesn’t match the build or heating power of the old-school oil heaters of decades past that is for sure.
A Note on the “Australian Company” Branding: Ausclimate markets this as an Australian company product, and while there’s no outright claim of local manufacturing, the branding leans heavily on terms like “Australian-designed” and “Australian-operated.” In reality, the bar is quite low for using this kind of marketing language, and I believe it plays on a common consumer misassumption that the product might be locally made to justify a slightly higher price point. In truth, the “design” seems to replicate a long-established product, and the “operation” mainly involves importing a cheaply manufactured item that’s retailed by an Australian-registered business. That’s fine; there’s a welcome market for that, but I personally prefer companies to be a bit more upfront or simply silent on the Australian marketing angle for products like this unless it is mostly locally made and job generating on shore.

UPDATED 31/7/2025. Ausclimate recently sent me a replacement heater, in the event that there may have been an issue with the heater I reviewed originally. The package was unsealed and the control panel was not secured to the heater upon receiving it. Since receiving the replacement heater, a bout of low temperature winter days has been a… Read more
good time to trial the heater. I again used the heater in all the rooms as previously reviewed. I feel the heater is quick to heat to temperature and radiates heat very well and warms the room - IF the room is enclosed , not open plan.
I walked into my office when hubby had the heater on at 30 degrees, the room was warm -but that is a high temp and not cost effective to run, and the door to the room was open.
I dropped the temperature to 25 degrees and closed the sliding door about 3/4 across. I came back into the room an hour later, and the room was more warm than running the heater at 30 degrees with the door open. I have tried this scenario in rooms sized around 3.5 - 4 metres, the result is always the same, close the door more than half or completely and you have a toasty warm room set at 25 degrees on the high setting. The rooms stayed warm after turning the heater off, keeping the chill at bay. This I feel is an economical option.
If you want the room warm with an open door, running at 30 degrees+ temp, be prepared for an extra 5 -10% more in energy consumption / running costs.
For open plan areas, I did not find any improvement for heating. The heater had to be in front of me if I was sitting on the lounge to feel anything, I certainly could not feel warmth walking around that open plan area.
I rate this heater 4 stars for being efficient in heating small to average sized rooms bearing in mind, how you operate the heater as I have outlined above considering costs.
RUNNING / USEAGE TIP When using the app you will see in my photos how after 25 degrees, the colour goes from orange to red, you can literally take that as an indication you are going into high running cost, which is a significant consideration in my opinion with the rising cost of electricity. So, run the heater lower temp, close the door and save money while keeping warm.
The heater loses a star for the functionality and design issues I have mentioned in my original review. In brief, the small recessed single handle, short cord and wonky flimsy casters make moving and positioning the heater awkward. If you just have one place in mind to use the heater and not move it, may not be an issue.
I feel my recommendations for use of this heater are appropriate as I have stated here and listed in my original review below.
Original Review 15 June 2025 -
This is my honest review of this heater as an Ambassador for Productreview.com I was anticipating that the heater would be a good alternative to airconditioning when just wanting to heat a room instead of my ducted aircon. Using this oil column heater: I tried this heater in different sized rooms, the manufacturer claims it should heat a room to 35m square. My ceilings are all 9 feet, I think this had an impact on this heater, noting that hot air rises, and if I stretched my arms up c could feel that the air above my head warmer than at seating level. I have been using this heater in June 2025 during our cold weather. I have posted photos and videos in support of my comments.
In my open plan loungeroom, the heater was not effective, unless I had it front of me, I still needed a blanket for warmth. My husband walked in after work one day and said how cold the room was, and I had the heater on 27 degrees. Touching the heater felt warm, it just didnt radiate around from where I was sitting.
I used the heater in a small bedroom 3.4 m x 3.2 m for about 6 hours. It did take the chill off the air, set at 25 degrees. The room quickly cooled once I turned it off.
The brochure states to not dry clothes with the heater, which I feel refers to throwing clothing over it. As I have a laundry with a clothes line , I put the heater in the room and closed the door. The room is 1.9m x 2.8 m, with a large broom cupboard recessed into it reducing the open space. A few hours later my clothes were getting dry and the room was toasty warm - the heater definitely effective in a small closed off room. My theory -, hot air rising helped dry my clothes, and without a risk of fire, the compact room size seemed to help increase the feel of warmth compared to larger rooms in my home.
Heater Appearance, Features and construction: It looks nice, grey metal compact sleek appearance. It is silent when operating. When it arrived, the box was open and I couldn't work out why the control panel looked strange, then realised there was a plastic cover at the bottom of the box which I worked out needed to be attached onto the LED dimmable control panel. I have wondered whether my item had a fault and was a return, and perhaps that is why the heating is not the best.
The control panel is easy to use, and the instruction booklet is quite clear too. I did hook up my Samsung phone to the Ausclimate app, and it has been working well. Using the controls and timer function from the app is straightforward. We tried hooking up hubby to the app as well, which we could do, but then it bumped me off. So it seems only one person can register with the app. There may be a way to add extra people but I couldnt work that out. Re moving the heater between areas: You need to attach casters to the bottom of the heater, these are plastic lightweight, and not good quality. Moving the heater with these casters is like using a wonky shopping trolley. To assist moving and repositioning, there is one minimally recessed 'handle' which I could barely grasp, I automatically go to grab another handle at opposite end, but there isn't one, it definitely feels like a second handle would be helpful. The heater is lightweight so I often carry it room to room albeit a bit clumsily without a 2nd handle, and trying to hang on to the cord.
Heat Emmission if touched during Operation: I find that the heater does not feel 'burning hot' if you brush against or touch it to move it, I regularly put my hands on it, if I want to reposition it , as the handle is insufficient. I feel there is minimal burn risk. Cord: The cord is inadequate for operation allowing manufacturers recommended distances. I had to use an extension cord (note powerboards are not recommended to use) to allow the recommended metre distance from the front sides and rear of the heater, let alone from the wall power outlet. You will definitely need an extension lead to use this heater more than a metre from the powerpoint if you want to place it in a central location. I am not always able to gain a metre clearance from the heater due to room size and nearby items. I do regularly check any close items and have not found that they ever even feel warm. I feel the recommended 1 metre distance from appliance is difficult to achieve in all directions, but it is a cautious safety recommendation.
I would suggest that in addition to a longer cord that the manufacturer add a cord 'tidy' to help when storing or moving. I had an old oil filled heater decades ago, and I still recall it had a handy in-built caddy tidy to stow the cord.
Heater Recommendation: - Useful for small rooms / apartments/ regular ceiling height areas. Not suitable for large open plan room design.
I feel that this heater would be useful in an apartment, when you dont have other forms of heating. It could be used to heat a small loungeroom with the timer before you get home. Or, a small bedroom, making use of the timer when going to sleep in a bedroom , setting the timer to turn off during the evening to save on electricity costs once you are asleep.
I definitely found this heater great to remove cold air and dampness from my laundry and dry my washing on my internal clothes line. So it could be handy that way.
In a regular sized house with 8 foot ceilings it is possible that the heater will perform more efficiently, I do think the extra foot in ceiling height in my home impacted the heating function, due to the 'heat' rising, therefore, I could not really feel the heating benefit when seated or walking around.
Like with an air conditoner, higher temp settings means higher running costs. I did an online calculation which indicates running this heater for 4.4 hrs day at $0.30/kWh x 90 days could cost $261.36. I would be hesitant to use higher temps as cost could become high. I found I needed to run the heater at 25 degrees or higher to be effective.
I received this heater for review as a Product Review Ambassador…. I think it will be clear that I my review is pretty unbiased. UNBOXING The unboxing experience is good - the heater comes well packaged and easy to unpackage. Assembly is easy, but the plastic feet are not substantial… more on that later. heater for yeah? Heating is fine. I was using this in a room that was probably too big for it, but it still managed to fight the cold. It performed on par with the 7 rib 10 year old Kambrook one I have. Zero issues here. Performs exactly as expected with no complaints at all.
CONTROL I really like the temperature setting control which allows you to choose a temperature to heat the room to, not just some weird more or less scale.
That being said, I wish they would beep or something when pressing the controls. It just doesn’t feel finished. It has the opportunity for you to also set a timer, but I never do this.
CONNECTIVITY This is a very missed opportunity. They give links to the Ausclimate app, which is a rebranded, feature lacking, Tuya app (this heater works in the Tuya ecosystem).
The controls are fine. Nothing aesthetically pleasing, but they work. A lot of icons which have no explanation on what they do, you’ll have to check the manual and guess to learn them.
Using the Ausclimate app doesn’t give you access to voice controls or more advanced features like the Tuya app does. I no longer use the Ausclimate app, switching to the Tuya app so I can use Siri Shortcuts (not included with the Ausclimate app), so we can control the heater from HomePods.
DESIGN AND QUALITY I get the prinlciple of the design. But I dont like it. I feel it’s more for it to heat before it heats the room.
It has a dinky handle on ONE side. Why? It’s too awkward to use to pull it along and without a second one, you can’t lift it.
Very disappointed. The panels of the heaters aren’t flush. The front panel seems loose. The heater doesn’t sit evenly on the floor.
For a heater with a $199 price point, I really would expect better.
With the exception for the plastic feet, none of it seems like it is going to break, but it just doesn’t seem to be exceptional quality or attention to detail for the price. Honestly, if I had to purchase this one or my Kambrook, for the price difference, I’d go the Kambrook as they both heat effectively
SUMMARY It heats well, the controls onboard are great, but the app is lacking. Quality and attention to detail is lacking considering the high price.

As receiving this item, the simplicity of setting it up, with just wheels and brackets took only a few minutes. Then installing the app upon my phone took only a few minutes and one thing it was easily identifiable in picking up the heater immediately and was very impressed by the app in doing this as had other items that I have connected through an app previously and this was by far the most easiest one yet.
The Ausclimate oil heater, works fantastic, I started off for the first week with just using the device controllers, these are touch sensitive key pad upon the oil heater itself, very nicely and easy to control, I like the fact its backlit with a soft tone but very easily seen, so in a darkened room its not overbearing but also very easy to visualize what you are doing and looks very sleek. Upon the second week I used the app and this was fantastic in itself, the fact that it picked up so easily really did amaze me in regards to previous items I have struggled with in the past, so very easy to do.
The size of the unit is nice, does a fair sized room, and only have it one for roughly 1hr and it does its job, keeps the room warm for a very long time, though you will need to keep door closed to retain heat, another good thing about this heater is noiseless so its not like a fan noise in the background which is a bonus. I used time function as this literally means it switches itself off and does so without fault. Its easy to move around due to the wheels to position it, which is standard and the chord is reasonable distance.
I like the design of the unit, it does look neat and also practical, oil heaters are good if you use them for a short period of time and the heat will still radiate due to being metal for a fair amount of time afterwards, I do advise caution with kids however as it is hot to touch as with all heaters.
I do not have anything that I can fault with this device, it functions well, it has a sleek design, its easy to move around, easy controls and app and I even like the colour to it
If you are looking for a heater then I highly recommend this unit, I do thank Ausclimate for providing this unit and thank Product Review for giving the opportunity to review this item, my dad loves it also
Follow-up · Update to my original review This heater is fantastic - love it, I use it when its extremely cold and use it to take out the chill out of my room and its quiet due to being a oil heater. this review.
Assembly was easy. 4 self-tapping screws were supplied, and only the feet had to be attached; however, there were 4 fine-thread screws in the base which perfectly matched the feet. The feet are plastic, and in my view, insufficiently robust. Adequate but breakable. The cut-out switch – found during an adjustment –works. I’ve had it manually set on full-time 22C, 24C, 26C, and 30C – and while it takes the edge off, and would probably be fine if someone was living with it daily, for 36 SQM plus a further 3+ SQM ensuite – it’s not quite enough.
I set up the Wi-Fi-controller after a period of being intimidated by it. (I’m not a geriatric Luddite but I look like one). The heater being in the shed and the home computer at the house, it took a little while, but I did manage to convince it to accept my Telstra data-connection and thus my phone. Oddly, switching to the App disables the glass controls on the actual device. I’m not sure this is a good thing. Even more oddly, it temporarily seemed to generate more heat. But still 'didn't win'. With a second, cheaper, less eco-friendly heater, the area was warm enough to inhabit for longer periods.
I think this would work well in a well-insulated Tiny House (which are 28 SQM) or equivalent. My shed – alternatively a workshop or sometime guest bedroom – is insulated, but has a few cold spots and single-glazing, and doors do not seal at the base.
This would also work better in an geographical area which does not get ‘persistently cold’. A lot of Canberrans turn the central heating on in May and turn it off again about October/November. If one lived in an area with warm days and cold nights and commuter occupancy of smaller room(s), this heater would work better (or perfectly) and probably save $. In Canberra, 36SQM+, moderately insulated, with 0C or -3C to 10C or 18C – it’s not quite up for the job.
I also can’t help wondering also if the design – neat and enclosed – wouldn’t create cleaning and efficiency problems long-term. I can imagine needing to dust-cover it while woodwork was in progress. It would probably need both a blower and a vacuum to get it fully dust-free clean.
Recommended? For 36SQm in Canberra or south, no. For, say, 25-28 well insulated square metres, or intermittent cold and a changeable commute - yes.
We bought 2 of these great heaters the other week. Delivery was quick and free, which was an added bonus. The heaters were easy to put together, with clear instructions. We have always had oil filled heaters, but these ones are on another level, they are child safe (as they have a safety layer over the actual heating elements) which is key with 2… Read more
young children in the house. The best part, they can be controlled remotely, and we have been coming home to a lovely warm home, without having to shiver and wait for the heaters to warm up. Our bedrooms are a reasonable size, but even the 7 fin Oil Filled Heaters we opted for, heat the bedrooms effectively. The app is easy to download (via a QR code) and use. Another excellent product from Ausclimate. We have their dehumidifier, Air Purifier and now Heaters in the house. What a game changer - thank you Ausclimate.
SMART DEVICE - It's very handy being able to turn the heater on and off and set the temperature from my phone. I can turn it on to be warm before I arrive home. It also has voice commands through Alexa and Google Home. There is also a Weekly Scheduler on the Ausclimate App. Connecting to WiFi was a simple and quick process. TIMER - There is a 24… Read more
hour countdown timer which allows you to conveniently set the heater on or off, in one hour increments. I use this to set it to turn on before I go to bed for a set number of hours and it turns off automatically in the morning. This prevents the room temperature from getting too hot and dry.
AESTHETICS - I like the compact sleek design. It looks modern with its graphite black finish and takes up very little space, and yet still manages to efficiently heat up a bedroom. The oil columns are enclosed in a flat cover which is easy to wipe free of dust. Dimensions: 260mm x 350mm x 640mm. Weight: 8.19 kgs. There is also an option to dim the heater panel brightness which I prefer for night time. Very helpful for those who are sensitive to light when sleeping.
HEATING CAPACITY - There are 3 heat settings on the heater panel (low, medium and high). You can adjust the temperature between 5 and 35 degrees using the "+" and "-" options on heater panel, which is a good backup option should the internet fail. You can also use the app to set it to your preferred exact temperature up to 35 degrees. It has up to 2400W of power and overheat protection. I find the heating efficient for my bedroom. It doesn't get too hot to touch, a good safety feature for children and pets, and it maintains the desired temperature consistently. I've kept it running for an extended time (12-18 hours) for a few weeks and it performs well. Oil filled heaters take a bit more time than fan operated heaters to warm up the room but this is easily managed by using the app to turn on before you go to bed. Being asthmatic I find fan based heating causes breathing problems which then disrupts my sleep. I find the gentle heating much better for sleep and breathing comfort. This heater is used in Canberra which does get very cold (single digit temperatures and minus temperatures are common).
My previous heater was not a smart device and I find the Ausclimate smart heater to be so convenient; I'm happy to replace my previous oil filled heater with this smart heater.
Context: family of 4 with 2 young kids. Our rooms in our house are larger than most homes in Sydney. We live in a brick veneer home, tiled surfaces and windows are not double glazed. up quickly and holds warmth really well. Great for maintaining a comfortable temperature, especially in bedrooms and living areas.
Top-Notch Timer – The timer is super easy to use—intuitive layout, responsive, and faster to program than other brands we’ve tried. This really stood out.
App Control Available – You can control it from your phone, but we didn’t test this feature. (We prefer not to download another app—but check other reviews if you're keen to use it remotely.)
Great Button Setup – We love the combo of a physical push-button for power and touch controls for everything else. Very easy to navigate without a learning curve.
Safe Surface – The outer shell doesn’t get dangerously hot, which gave us peace of mind when leaving it in the kids’ room overnight.
Size – The size is smaller than other heaters we've used, but it packs a very similar punch in terms of heating.
Warranty extension – a nice 2+2 years warranty gives us peace of mind for the next few years if this ever stops working.
Cons – Small But Not Deal-Breaking
Packaging Issue – Ours arrived with a dent on the bottom (see video). Most likely caused during delivery and poor protective padding. It made the unit a little wobbly, but it still worked perfectly to heat our spaces—so we didn’t stress too much.
Final Thoughts
If you want a reliable, family-safe heater that’s easy to use and warms up a room fast, this one ticks the boxes. The intuitive timer and safe outer casing are standout features for households with kids. While the delivery issue was unfortunate, the actual performance of the heater was excellent—and that’s what matters most on those chilly nights.
This is a good mid-size heater. The dark grey colour is pleasing and it's totally silent. It surprisingly can warm quite a large area if you have it on for long enough. heater on before you got home! We don't have this set up so we can only control the heater from within the house and we did use the wifi function once so far to turn the heater on from our bed so the home office was warm when we started work. There are 3 negatives: The manual power button feels a bit cheap and wobbly when you press it on/in so I am not sure how long this would last - maybe forever but worth noting. Secondly there is only one handle on one end of the unit. You can only drag/roll the unit around, lifting and carrying it is tricky as there is no handle on the control side. Running costs - this is a big issue for all australians. I calculated the unit costs $.71 cents per hour to run mornings and shoulder electricity times (say 32c per kw) and at peak times like at night (46c per kw) it would cost a horrifying $1 per hour to run! Just as a comparison, to run a mid/large ducted airconditioning unit heating just one large room the cost would be roughly $.43 cents an hour. I would have to say, unless you have a large solar array and battery storage, this heater (like all similar electric heaters) is going to be an expensive way to keep warm in the winter. If you have no access to other forms of heating its on par with a built in unit but remember it will only heat one room/space. The purchase price is super affordable so if you need heating quickly and fast this unit is very good - just be mindful of the cost to run it!

Know better, choose better.
This heater looks great and has some useful features, but there's not much else to recommend. The main heater unit looks sleek, modern and attractive. good fit for modern decor.
The feet are packaged separately and are lightweight plastic, which doesn't give a good impression. The castors are also cheap plastic and very small. One of the castors on my unit doesn't turn, so pushing the heater around is like trying to push a wayward shopping trolley. It's not a good experience.
There's a pack of 4 one-way screws in the box, which I assumed was for attaching the feet to the bottom of the heater. I can't think of a reason why one-way screws would be necessary so I searched for normal screws to use instead. As it happens, there are already 4 normal screws affixed to the heater, so the one-way screws aren't needed at all.
Other first impressions: the main power switch feels a bit industrial and at odds with the rest of the controls. The power cord comes out from the front of the heater. It would make a lot more sense for it to come out from the BACK.
Apart from the power switch, the other controls are touch buttons and there's a two-digit display that normally shows the desired temperature.
There's HEATING SELECTION button that cycles between low (H1), medium (H2), high (H3) and anti-frost (AF). However, there's no way to see what the current selection is without pressing the button and that also CHANGES the setting. So if you press the button and it says "AF" that means it was on high and you've just changed it to anti-frost and now you need to press it three times to set it back to high. It's a clumsy system.
There's a TIMER button, which is really a "sleep" button in that you choose how long to run the heater before it switches off. It can only be set in increments of an hour (1 to 24 hours). Once set, the display shows the number of hours remaining instead of the temperature. Touching plus or minus shows the temperature briefly.
There's a WI-FI button, but just like with the EcoSmart Air Circulator that I reviewed previously, I could never get it to pair with the app. The app found the heater and showed "Being added" for a few minutes, and then showed "Failed to add the device". As far as I'm concerned, Ausclimate's smart connectivity just doesn't work. I also object to having to register with an email address to be able to use the app.
All that being said, the heater isn't very effective. Mine is the 1500W model (ACOC157) and it struggled to raise the temperature of even a small bedroom. Therefore, despite the sleek looks and modern touch controls I can't really recommend this over other column heaters that cost half as much.

a game changer! I can switch it on, set the temperature, time and adjust settings before I even get home (as long as it's on standby). Walking into a warm house after being out all day is the best feeling this time of year! The modern touch screen is super easy to use, and best of all, the heater is touch-proof, it doesn't get hot to-the-touch where you will burn yourself. This gives me peace-of-mind as my indoor cats love curling-up close to the heater. It's also a very important safety feature if you had small children. It says it works with Google Home or Alexa, which would be super handy for voice control or busy households. I recommend this particular size, 11 fin, for those wanting warmth for larger sized rooms as it efficiently warms-up my large lounge room nicely!

Even though two heaters are registered in the app, when try and set up a Scene to run automation to turn on and off at certain times those two devices do not appear (see photo). The 7-day calendar timer in the app does work, but only allows 60 minute run time increments (eg run for 1, 2, 3 etc hours) and can only start and finish on the hour, not at quarter or half past. There are no instructions - in the manual, on the app or on the website - for how to operate the heaters via the app. I have a lot of smart devices so was easy enough to figure out, but still took a little time with trial and error. While the actual products are good, they are let down by an underdone app even though it is built on a generic smart home app that performs much better when badged under other brands. I'll wait for the next app upgrade and see if things improve, and re-rate if there are changes.
