Aussie CPAP Questions & Answers
VerifiedI bought a Philips Respironics Dreamstation Automatic CPAP Machine & Humidifier from you March 2020. I have been trying to contact you but your website no longer exists. I would like to talk to you about the Phillips urgent product defect notice (mid 2021) for this machine. I registered a claim with Phillips but have not had my machine fixed or replaced. Can someone please contact me as a matter of urgency so I can get my machine fixed?
I am having trouble accessing the Aussie CPAP website - keeps saying site is unsafe, which ever way I try to access the site.
My reason for trying to contact the company is that I need to return my CPAP machine which was purchase in July 2019. I used my CPAP machine initially for 4 weeks after the purchase, then opted for surgery to correct my sleep apnea and after the recovery period appointments with ENT specialist decision was to go back to try the machine again as the surgey did not work. The issue is that when I turned on the machine recently there was no power at all.
I would now like to return the faulty machine and get a refund as I am concerned about the quality of these machines and it breaking down out of warranty.
Can someone please contact me as I cannot access your website for contact details.
Does anyone have the resmed for women? Just wondering what it’s like
Yes but apparently no different from other resmed machine, just a different colour :) Have you seen my review above?
Hi Donna, there is the Resmed Airsnese 10 autoset For Her. This is the white one. The settings are similar with the black machine . For more information, kindly check our website. external link
do you provide Australia invoice as I can claim some money from private health fund. Can you please send me the template of invoice for sending Australia customer. Thak you!
I find it very odd with all the above reviews. All stating buy here or there but no one doing an actual review of the product.
I'll be buying one for myself soon.
All I want to know is how it works as of late my breathing stopped a few times and has me a bit worried. I wake up with my heart pounding which is how the body gets one to wake itself up.
I'll be sitting up in a chair tonight hoping that position doesn't stop my heart.
I get to see a specialist in about 6 weeks. Thought I'd rent one first to see if it does the job. Hate to pay $1500 or so then find out its not for me.
So I take it the unit some how avoids one not breathing by some how forcing air through which alone worries me a bit.
Hi Colin52, the air is not forcefully pushed through, but it can be a bit disconcerting at first. I recommend the Auto version rather than the fixed pressure version as the auto can detect when you are falling asleep and adjusts the 'ramp' time accordingly. The 'ramp' time is the time it takes for the machine to get to the pressure you need. fixed pressure machines have a user set ramp time which is combersome and takes alot of trial and error. I suggest doing a sleep study with a specialist before you go to the expense of buying the machine.
If you havent done so already, ask your GP for a referral to Sleep Clinic for a Medicare bulk billed sleep test. You will be able to see better after the trial whether a machine is needed.
I wish I had done the trial first. I made a mistake there. I decided to buy it. HBF refunded $720 of the $1650. Mask was another $259. My sleep specialists gave me what settings it had to be set at but Perth CPAP didn't set it up that way and set it for all the max settings. They had the air set at 16 which was coming through to fast and I struggled with it. The humidifier was at the max and water pumped into my lungs. Not used it since. Had a terrible coughing fit and nearly blacked out. Think there is something wrong with my unit. I notice the courier man dropped it from his shoulder to the ground quite hard so it wouldn't surprise me if its been damaged in freight too. I did get the autosense unit in the resmed10 version. There is an app for ones mobile where it can change the settings on that too. There really should be some very basic instructions on a large card or something.
If you have the settings it is not difficult to set the resmed 10 auto yourself, but you would probably be just as well going back until they get the setting right. Or see the sleep specialist for a review. I find the auto ramp time a really useful feature and if the air is blowing too fast and wakes me I sitch it off and on to just start ramping again.
If you purchase from Aussie CPAP and you are in Australia you do not get the app. You do not even get the option to view a report on your machine to check your events. I used mine for about 4 weeks, didn't use it again for about 12 months now it does not work at all and I cannot gain access to their website to contact someone about my faulty machine. I wish I had purchased the machine in Australia as it looks like i have wasted $1500.
Do they leak water?
Mine has not leaked at all. I guess if the water reservoir is overfilled some water may escape.
Not at all, unless the water tank is damaged but they got a warranty for the water tank as well.
Well i've just found out they do leak water. Mine wasn't overfilled but leaked out over our bamboo flooring causing the flooring to buckle. If you do a search online it seems to be a reasonably common problem with the water tank. I haven't contacted the supplier yet but hope they replace the tank at least.
