Austrack Campers Tanami X15L Hybrid Offroad

Good features; solid construction with nicely fitting doors and pull out. Quality looking finish. Heavy duty suspension. A brief inspection of chassis indicates water could pool inside RHS sections and rust out. Poor features; 1. Roof jammed on first attempt but later rectified after talking to selling agent. 2. Rollout awning/annex roof has… Read more
"anti flap" bars which were not attached. Brackets and method of installation not available. Advised by agent to go to caravan repair shop! 3. No set up video to assist us. 4. Redarc battery monitor failed after one week. Agent said to contact Redarc. A warranty claim can be made after we photograph the back of the unit. Looks like the unit is boxed in by cupboards and most difficult to remove without a lot of dismantling of carpentry. 5. Water tank is 80% full. When water supply pump is turned on, water is discharged out of a 12mm plastic hose in amongst other pipes, under the caravan. When connected to mains water supply the same discharge happens. Suggested solution; to try and encourage the selling agent to fully erect the caravan in their property yard so we can then try the hot and cold water supply, airconditioner, diesel room heater, fridges, flush the toilet, run the showers etc. So far, two camping efforts have failed to very poor quality control of assembly.
3 months waiting on parts on a BRAND NEW VAN – I strongly advise steering clear of this caravan manufacturer. A close family friend purchased a brand new van for $67,000 just over six months ago, and during the first trip, they encountered several issues, including problems with the solar panels and the shower head, along with various other complications. The van was taken to the Warragul RV… Read more
Centre for repairs since Austrack does not handle their own maintenance.
Unfortunately, the van has been sitting at the repair facility for nearly three months, waiting for Austrack to release the necessary parts. The warranty and service manager has been unresponsive, and there has been no involvement from senior management to address the situation. Recently, Austrack informed the repair center that they would be shipping the parts, claiming they would arrive yesterday. However, it turned out they hadn’t even been sent at that point and were now expected to arrive on Monday—at the latest Tuesday. We later discovered that the parts were coming from Brisbane, and the shipping company's ETA is nearly two weeks.
When I requested to speak with the owner, they only provided the email address of the sales manager, which does not help resolve the issue. Throughout this entire ordeal, Austrack has made no effort to expedite the repairs or source parts locally, nor have they considered taking components from a new van to facilitate the repairs. So, this brand new van continues to sit idle at the repair center, and by the time we finally receive the parts, it will have been over three months. There is a complete lack of care, support, and urgency to address the problem. It’s frustrating to watch this situation drag on, especially as my friend needs the van for the upcoming long weekend.
Could not be happier – This is our second hybrid van. The first van which was from a different company was a big disappointment & extremely stressful. We went to the Rocklea show room to check out the range. We found the sales team very helpful & informative. Being very fussy we made three trips to Rocklea before we decided on the Tamani 15l. The sales team must of… Read more
thought I was a real pain but were able to answer all our questions. We paid a deposit & delivery was at there Caboolture branch not long after. Hand over was done by Cameron who was very professional & knew the product well. The van did not disappoint. Build quality was excellent. Thank you for a seamless & pleasurable experience.
Dust problem – We are currently on a road trip and are driving on unsealed dirt roads . Our camper is brand new Tanami 15 and was full of dust after the first destination . There are numerous areas unsealed in the floor of the van where the dirt has entered . There is dirt in cupboards too . Why is this acceptable in a $60000 van ? There are also several things… Read more
not working properly or fallen off . Toilet door and main door not shutting properly needing force to close .
Avoid Austrack campers – 0 stars. Buyer beware - The after sales service from head office is embarrassing. We bought a new Hybrid. Drove it out the door to find numerous issues - 1. Air conditioning didn’t work 2. Internal cupboard doors fell off hinges 3. Scratched interior 4. Spare wheel bags ripped 5. Awning doesn’t close Zofia Polaczuk - Service & Warranty Manager… Read more
was nothing but rude, lacks any empathy, is on a power trip to make customers lives hell. She goes out of her way to be difficult and not find a reasonable and fair solution & clearly enjoys it. How she is appointed into this role is beyond me. I said this situation was s*** and she hung up on me and said I swore at her. The air conditioning wasn’t checked in production, then it somehow became our issue. Zofia said wait for a new part, up to a month, or drive 9 hours to get a new unit. We had to cancel our trip, wasted annual leave with no compensation. Disgusting service. I do not recommend buying from Austrack. Go to Jawa or Swag.
Product is great but business is terrible – Good product but shocking customer service. I would be embarrassed to work for them. Spent $60000. On a 15XL camper. After 7 months of waiting finally got camper minus the external 80l fridge. Promised it by November… Over 2 months later still no fridge, no contact at all. Have rung Austrack many times trying to get an honest answer but promises,… Read more
promises no fridge. They will say whatever it takes to placate the customer and then forget about it. Stay clear of this mob - they are full of crap. Now I’m trying to get my money back for the fridge. Yep good luck with that!!!
Steer clear of Austrack Campers if you want any post purchase service or warranty claim – Purchased brand new Tanami X15 Hybrid Van in 2022. Right up until the money was paid there was immediate response and dialogue. Once delivered, raised issues with damage to Van, missing bolts on awning, internal and external build quality, inferior or different brands of equipment. Used online claim that went nowhere. Then had to explain several… Read more
times in details to several different people what the issues were. One of which restricted safe use of the van. It is now almost 6 months on and there is nothing but continued lip service and prolonged delays due to inaction and claims of being busy. I have rectified and made safe myself so that I can use the brand new $55K van I bought. Do yourself a favour and go with a reputable brand unless you want to do repairs on a brand new unit just to be able to use it, at your expense. During my travels I will tell everyone and anyone when they ask about the van. Appalling after sale service and mediocre build quality out of China. Is it a safe family van? I'm not sure, so take care if you have one or decide to still buy one. Issues can be resolved, bad service sticks.
Austrack 15 L Hybrid – We bought a Austrack 15L last September 2020 and had endless issues with this van. Brakes, Aircon leaking .TV not working Radio faulty . All three batteries only lasted until warranty was up. Rust on Van.Hatch broken. Service is shocking.
