Returns – I found Avancer to be extremely helpful, they sent me a postage paid slip for, returning the product. Mind you it was no 3 that actually worked and it just died this morning after being used daily. But the company were great. Not really sure of the date that I purchased it. Show details
Pretty good – Not as fine as I would like, but does a good enough job to en able a fair quality for drip or expresso use with my 2 (also very cheap but fairly effective home brewers)to give a drinkable coffee. After solid use daily over a few years or so the grinder now is reluctant to start sometimes. I have removed screws in feet and opened the guts and… Read more
checked components, and opened and liftdr out the grinder section also. Looks great and clean, but not fixing the occasional reluctance to fire up.
Burnt Coffee Beans - Stopped Working! – ZERO STARS! I've owned this Burr Grinder for approximately four years approximately. It was well looked after, and never had water near it, only a slightly damp cloth. The machine's canister had only been filled eight times since purchase. It was working when I put it away, but not when I went to use it again. I'm glad it stopped, because the… Read more
coffee granules at any size were always burnt and tasted aweful. No matter which brand bean I put through it, drinking coffee from this grinder was such an unpleasant experience, that I would only drink it when instant coffee ran out. hence why it got little use!
Since I had a full large bag and a half of my favourite lable coffee that I purchased a couple of months ago to grind up, I needed a fast solution, as I had run out of instant coffee. I used a medium cup on a Ninja 1000W blender, and it did an excellent job at grinding the beans up without the horrible burnt after taste! I'm not going to buy another Burr Grinder, because now I can enjoy unburnt coffee all of the time, without spending money on rubbish like this product.
PS: If you're going to try a Ninja Blender, always go for the 1500W model, as the 1000W does struggle a tiny bit, but not strain. No, it doesn't burn the beans at all. Coffee tastes great! I always like things in my home to serve dual purpose. Now this Avancer Burr Grinder has generated more land fill at my expense, I'm glad I found another use for an appliance I already have. The Ninja does tend to chop a bit fine it you let the coffee roll over twice to be sure it's all cut, but it's still good coffee all the same!
All this time I had experienced horrible fresh coffee... Thanks for nothing cheap Avancer coffee grinder! Good riddance!
Satisfactory Grinder, Good Customer Service – I would say this grinder was satisfactory and did the job I needed it for. I only ever used it to grind for espresso (fine) and sometimes plunger (coarse). I did notice the fine setting however was not as fine as a previous sunbeam I owned or compared to what you would buy at the shop pre-ground. When I first purchased the grinder it worked… Read more
once and then the next time I went to use it it would not turn on at all.
After contacting the company and doing some basic troubleshooting they agreed to send a replacement. I did not have to return for an inspection to have it replaced which was really good. They dispatched a replacement and allowed me to keep the faulty one for spare parts.
The replacement worked fine for around 5 months or more and then all of a sudden exactly the same issue as the first one, it just stopped working. I again contacted Avancer and similarly after doing some basic troubleshooting they offered to replace it. However this time I decided I would go for a refund which they happily obliged.
To put it briefly the grinder itself was satisfactory, but had twice faulted on me.
The Avancer company was very pleasant to deal with and very helpful. I won't personally buy the same grinder again but I would have no issue buying other products from Avancer due to their excellent post sales service.
Cheap & effective BURR Coffee Grinder – This grinder is in the price range of Blade grinder but provides the advantage & quality of BURR grinding rather than chopping & heating beans. Disadvantages - 17 of the grind settings are redundant as only the finest setting is useful. I use the coffee in filter machines so the finest setting is suitable. The power cord is very short & the… Read more
machine needs to sit immediately under the power point.
The grinder throws the coffee out @ speed so the hopper is required & has a safety switch needs to be in place before it will work. If you break the plastic Hopper the grinder will not work.
Overall - Better than a Blade grinder at comparable price. If the design had been better thought out it would be alot more expensive. Cheap, Short power cord. Grind settings are too coarse.
Avancer coffee grinder – The product arrived and was used twice before it stopped working. We contacted avancer and were asked a series of questions before they accepted there was a need to assess the problem. Unfortunately their return process is so convoluted and involves the potential to be charged fees in excess of the value of the coffee grinder itself. This is a… Read more
company that cannot accept it has a faulty product and should replace it immediately.
Didn't work after 2 days. Return process costly and convoluted involving fees.
Exactly what I wanted – The Coffee Grinder took some coming after having been assured it was in stock and was due to be dispatched. It did finally arrive after a months wait. However, It was worth the wait it does all that we expect of it. It has numerous settings for the most fastidious of coffee brewers. It's fast and less noisy than I expected and has a good… Read more
sized hopper for the coffee beans. It's easy to clean and has a decent sized container for the ground coffee. It's exactly what I wanted and is good value for money. Especially considering opposition prices and Coffee Grinders. Easy to use, easy to clean, reliable and inexpensive. Length of wait for delivery.
