Rust Problem – Guys, these are high carbon steel blades. They WILL rust if you don't care for them. They are NOT stainless steel. Being of high carbon steel means you get a supreme quality blade which are extremely sharp and retain their sharpness for long periods which means precise and very fine cutting. The downside is they rust if you don't protect them, something which you don't get with stainless steel blades. But stainless steel is a far lower grade quality steel then carbon for cutting but you do get far less maintenance problems with it. This is why stainless is used in kitchen knives because people don't have to perform continual cleaning and care and being a short blade it won't snap easily. This is why stainless isn't used in the manufacture of long blades because it becomes brittle in longer lengths and therefore completely useless even though it would not rust. Trust me, as long as you maintain them they will serve you well for LIFE! If you don't have the time or patience to clean your knives after use then these knives are not for you.

Great quality – If the wingers read the instructions and care for your knifes you would know that it isn't a stainless steel knife and that you have to wash and dry the knives after use. Had mine for years now and still as awesome as when I got it and in great condition. Great knives.

Rusty – Knives rusted within a week of purchase. Took them back to House and the manager told me "the better quality the knife the more it rusts" which I'm totally not convinced on. I got mine on sale for $100 luckily but have seen them advertised for $400.

Rusting set of knives – I bought a Baccarat Daisho Knife Block 7 piece set 6 months ago. Whilst I am having no problems with the handles breaking as others are or the sharpness of the knives, I am having problems with the knives almost instantly beginning to rust within a week of usage. What a piece of rubbish, I am not even going to bother with the warranty as I certainly do not ever want to use baccarat knives again. I have to constantly re wash and manually dry the knives but they still continue to rust. SAVE YOUR MONEY PEOPLE, go out and spend a touch more and buy Global Knives, much more reliable and better.
