Kamikoto Kanpeki Knife Set

Makes you look like a pro at slicing – I'm a vegetarian and I guess that explains why I have to use knives a lot. This set has been amazing. It cuts and slices through vegetables easily and smoothly. Handling and cleaning is not a problem as well. I don't have to sharpen them all the time.

that also offered quality knives for sale. Although they displayed excellent steel, the finished product was not of the quality of my Kamikoto knives. After my visit to Japan, I ordered 2 additional sets as gifts (in addition to being a superior product, it was easier than carrying them home on a plane!). For those of you that have not used these knives, they are single edge blades that are sharpened on a whetstone for the best edge. I use a belt drive sharpener for my Solingen kitchen knives, but use a whetstone for the Kamikoto knives!. These are the knives you would use for thin slicing vegetables, meat or fish. The knives are well balanced in the hand and unbelievably sharp. I would highly recommend them to anyone that spends much time in the kitchen

Waste of money - don’t believe the marketing hype – We received our knives after initially hearing great things, but they are a complete waste of money so please don’t fall for the marketing hype. - they are poorly balanced in terms of handle vs blade (which causes user fatigue)

- they are advertised as handcrafted but two of my knives have visible machine marks

Having purchased many leading brands of Japanese knives before, these don’t even meet the minimum standards of what you’d buy in a cheap store in Japan, let alone the price paid on the site (for us it was USD$324) for 4 knives that are so useless they’ll have to be thrown out - I wouldn’t even donate them to a charity as the beveled edge is dangerous in its lack of ability to cut straight!

complete gamut of cooking knives, the essential ones for serious cooking. I should have discovered these knives much earlier in my life, but , at least, I can enjoy them fully: the are precise, very well balanced and they do the job. I am no longer afraid to chop and dice hard root vegetables like celeriac, turnips, carrots, etc. Prepare carpaccio, finely chop garlic and hot chilies, remove skin from salmon or trout, debone a piece of meat, etc... Because of their being very well balanced (weight) between the blade and the handle, they give you security in cutting and chopping to make duxelles and mirepoix. A must have.

Cut with precision! Art on its own for sure. Love it – Knives were all presented beautifully in wooden boxes and they sliced and cut perfectly as shown and advertised. However one of the boxes arrived without the 7 inch knife arrived after Christmas season. Show details

Kamimoto quality – I have the Kuro set, which is their ceramic collection of knives i use daily. Makes cooking a pleasurable experience. Lightest & sharpest knives i have used. Quality knives beautifully presented. [EDIT] It's now 2024 & these knives are blunt AS. They look great. That's about it unfortunately. Stainless Steal Crap! – These knives are crap! Buyer beware! They are stainless steel and surface rust showed up on them after only one week (used 2-3 times only). Exceptionally disappointing! – Unlike other quality knives I have seen, Kamikoto knives are ground on one side, causing any cuts to follow a significantly curved path. Compounding that is that the knife I used was dull right from new, and I cannot imagine I will ever use it. Kamikoto policy does not allow for returns based on disappointing performance or design. I love these knives – I have 9 Kamikoto knives, including the black range and 2 sets of steak knives. Also the magnetic knife block and cutting board. I use them everyday and they are still as sharp as the day I bought them. I’ve had them for about 3 years now. I would recommend to anyone
