Always a positive experience with Vero :-) – I cannot believe the negative comments above. I have been with Vero for over 20 years with car and house insurance. I have found them faultless. I have need to claim many times and received impeccable service each time. With great claim results too. I honestly think if you're a whinger you'll whinge no matter what it's about. Vero have been faultless and competitively priced for my purposes.

Reprehensible Customer Service – We used Vero insurance for travel coverage on a planned holiday for my family of 4 to Canada at the end of Feb this year. Two of us fell ill in Sydney for a number of days. The doctor advised us that we should return to our home city to recover due to the duration and nature of the illness and the likelihood that the rest of the family would get it along the rest of the journey. We immediately called Vero to ensure we were doing the 'right' thing by the insurance. Once we returned home, we made the claim (March). After sending in additional information/documents as requested by Vero, we never heard back. From the end of March until mid June I called Vero weekly to query the status of our claim. I never spoke to our case manager as he was always 'not working today' or was 'at lunch'; I was always promised that he would return my call which he never did. The other Vero employees that I talked to about my case all led me to believe that it would be a favourable outcome for us. Finally in mid June I had had enough waiting. I threatened to phone the ombudsman. That afternoon I had my call returned by our case manager...We were denied due to the medical letter having the wrong wording...'advised to return to recover' instead of 'medically necessary'. Beware of Vero and do not get travel insurance through them! Low cost Poor customer service and leading the consumer to a false conclusion prior to the final claim decision

Terrible experience with Vero Insurance – Just went through a small claim with Vero Insurance and had a shocking experience. The customer service was absolutely bad and destroying which is very bad for a big international company like Vero, so I can't understand why they have any clients. I'm running away from Vero as fast as I can. Terrible service

Seems Vero's bad customer service is a vital part of their business. We took out travel insurance with Vero for an overseas trip to Canada for our family of 4. After two of us falling ill in Sydney on the way to Canada, the doctor we saw advised us that our best course of action would be to return to our home city to recuperate give the nature and duration of the illness & the likelihood that the rest of the family would also get the illness. We immediately phoned Vero to ensure we would be Ok to return to our home and make a claim...Claims process was quite simple; our consultant with Vero requested additional information. All along we were led to believe that the claim would be settled in our favour. After submitting the claim in March, I have had to make numerous calls to Vero to query on the status of our claim. Our consultant was frequently 'out for the day' or 'gone to lunch' and I was promised that my call would be returned which it NEVER was! Finally, in mid June, I threatened to call the ombudsman. That afternoon my call was returned and we were notified that our claim would be denied due to insufficient information in the medical note. Since then, the doctor we saw in Sydney has sent in an additional letter on our behalf with further information. This past week, we received a call from our lovely consultant [name removed] notifying us that the claim was still denied due to the doctor advising us to return home to recover rather than stating it was medically necessary. BEWARE...Vero has very poor customer service and I HIGHLY recommend NOT using VERO for any insurance.
Terrible – The product is average with average cost however the Vero staff attitude/customer service is shocking and unfortunately determines that cutomers will shop elsewhere. This is unfortunate for the corporate business partners such as Bankwest and Covermore who promote the Vero insurance, as their reputation wears the blame. We have used Bankwest (Vero) Insurance and Covermore on a number of ocassions but have never needed to claim - this bad experience ensures we will not use them again. Bankwest Travel insurance is underwritten by Vero Insurance Agreed. Bankwest are only the business partner - the product(insurance) is underwritten by Vero Insurance. Vero handles all claims. On cotacting Vero after a recent theft the lady told us she would knock back our claim - this was based on her assumption of the situation gleaned in 30 seconds of conversation and before we sent in any report or information pertaining to the circumstance of the theft. Vero are the underwriting insurance for a number of travel insurers including the well known CoverMore which we have previously used.We certainly won't be using any insurance underwritten by Vero again. We submitted our written claim with full incident report, police report, proof of ownership etc and have heard nothing since.Read the Policy Disclosure Statement of any travel insurance before you purchase it.

Thanks. I have a broker who organizes my insurance so I checked all my policies and found most of them are with vero. That will be changing ASAP!
Terrible – When I went to claim they blocked it on technicalities. Very dodgy. Don't get this travel insurance if you want to feel that you are really covered. Absolutely nothing Will not pay out if it can help it
