POS, absolute rubbish. Avoid at all costs. Gets stuck on every step and ledge. When it’s not stuck it just drives up walls and sucks air then sits on the bottom doing nothing. If I could choose negative 5 stars I would. After months of making sure pressures, hoses and connections were perfect I spent another month guiding this thing around the pool I smashed it. Show details

Good pool cleaner in it’s class – Only had it for a few days, so I can’t comment on longevity of parts. My pool pump has a 110kw output for a 50,000 litre tiled pool, so it’s reasonably powerful and I have no suction issues, The Tracker moves around the pool and manages to cover all of it in random patterns. It has stayed in one place against the stairs for 10 to 15 seconds a… Read more

couple of times, then extricates itself and moves on. It picks up gum leaves. A long twig wrapped around the rotating bottom blade and it stopped. Apart from that, it hasn’t required me to clear it. The Tracker won’t pick up very long or very wide debris, and I don’t expect it to.. me and a net perform that task. It partly climbs the walls now and again. This is unimportant to me, as I periodically brush-clean the walls. So overall, I am pleased with my purchase although I have a regret.. The Baracuda Tracker is a re-branded and re-coloured Zodiac MX6. Both are made by Zodiac with the Tracker made specifically for Bunnings. Had I previously known, I would have purchased the Zodiac MX6 for around $100 less than the $670 I paid at Bunnings. The MX6 colours are also nicer than the Tracker in my opinion.

Great little pool cleaner – Vacuums all size leaves up to maple leaf size. Cleans the walls well. Doesn’t do stairs though and will get stuck on convex corners. It took some time to get the right speed to travel up the walls. Had it for over a year now and very happy. Show details

keeps stopping – what a POS, the smallest leaf stops it from working at all. unless you have absolutely no leaves on the bottom of your pool, this thing is useless. I had to constantly pull it out of the pool to take out a leaf or maybe 2 leaves. total crap product, do not buy it. Show details

Not suitable for my needs – High expectations, but didn't work as I'd expected. Agitates more than it sucks debris, and the non reverse on the Barracuda/MX6 ('low end cleaner') means that if it is stuck in a corner or on an edge (happened regularly), you need to manually move it. Credit to Zodiac, I was able to return it to Bunnings for a full refund. Show details

Tracker is old but refurb kit fixed it – I’ve had my Baracuda Tracker for quite a few years having bought it at Masters before they closed shop. The cleaner recently started behaving erratically as many posters have experienced. I found an American YouTube video which gave me hope. The technician mentioned that if the right hand gearbox was grey in colour, chuck it out now! Not sure… Read more ·  1

if the Baracuda MX6 etc refurbishment kit would fit but I thought it was worth a try. Yes, it is interchangeable with the Tracker so I was pleased I hadn’t spent money which could have gone towards a new cleaner. I think I paid about $125. eBay delivery was ok. Changing out was easy, no special skills needed. All good and back doing its rounds of the pool. I know some people bag this cleaner but it’s been great for me. Cheers!

Small Debris Cleaning

Life span of a cockroach stepped on – Bought this under the pretense it was a good product. Worked great for say 6months and now just moves slowly or not at all. Every time the cartridge filter is cleaned it has a new life and works for about 30mins then back to slow life. Hose has no holes, suction is powerful at the connection to cleaner however it doesn’t have the strength to climb… Read more

walls etc. Most of the time it gets stuck on bottom vent of pool or curls the hose up so it gets tangled. Only owned this for under 12 months and very disappointed. Not sure what Bunnings will do but really just looking for other alternative cleaners now. :(

Wall and Step Cleaning

Doing a great job – Bought the tracker from Bunnings sub $500. Followed the instructions and threw it in the pool. Doing a great job. Doesn’t like steps but what does.? Has been scrubbing the walls and the bottom. Doesn’t mind a few small leaves. The return vents knock it off the wall but it’s like a terrier keeps coming back and having another go. Show details

regret this purchase – I completely regret this purchase, the Tracker want to constantly climb walls, the smallest leaf or debris stop the main wheel and worst of all the wheel stirs up the sediment on the bottom so the pool goes cloudy and completely defeats the purpose of the vacuuming. I have had kreepy krawly for past ten years and the tracker does not come near the performance in any way. Wasted money and now stuck with it. Do not recommend purchasing. Show details

POS do not buy – Bought a barracuda tracker. It went 3m and stopped. Stuffed around for about 6 hours with the pool. Had suction but backwashed. Manually vacuumed again. Backwashed again. Had excellent suction. Barracuda went 2 meters and stopped. Called tech support who said “yer, it’s broke”. Took it back to bunnings for a new one. Second barracuda, with excellent suction went 1/2 meter and stopped. Damn you barracuda! Never again! NEVER!! Show details

Worst vac ever – Got this vac 2 years back, it has never worked well. Seems to suck sticks and leaves and get jammed no problem, but the silt on the pool floor is left behind. Barracuda are also a horrible company to deal with, refused to return contact despite multiple attempts. Steer well clear.  Show details

Wish it had worked but alas it was abismal – Purchased from Bunnings on the 01 Sep 18 tried to get it working for about 5 hours before giving up on it and taking it back for a refund. It struggled with any debris on the floor of the pool, continually jamming on the smallest of twigs and leaves. Even purchased the Baracuda leaf catcher but it sucked air from around the top seal which… Read more

caused my pump to go haywire. Removed the leaf catcher to get the Tracker to run but it kept getting jammed by debris.

Oh well it is back to getting a robotic cleaner instead.

Baracuda Tracker is a sub $600 pool cleaner that actually works! Wish I bought two – Regardless of some bad reviews on the Masters hardware website just before the company went belly-up, they had this pool cleaner reduced to around the $500 mark. I've tried some other cleaners before costing around $200 to $400, plus the so-called "Klever Kleener" but nothing would maintain the pool properly. No cleaner I've owned does thee… Read more

steeps or sides of the pool properly, so I just sweep these down to the bottom as a routine function with ph checks anyway.

After working out the flow rate regulator (which is thee only reason this product didn't get 5 stars), I'm pleasantly surprised how well this little pool cleaner works. It picks up everything including leaves! Out of the 30 or so times I've used it since Maasteer's demise in Adelaide, it jammed twice when a few leaves jammed up the internal impeller. This was a breeze to fix, just uncoil thee hose interface, weigh the hose down (yes, pump is still running) so the pump doesn't get a guts full of air, press open the front catch, clean out the debris, close the flap, sink the pool cleaner back underwater, remove the hose weight, clip on the hose no let it go. The cleaner usually does a double spin, then setts off to clean the pool. No getting stuck on the pool drain in the deep end, actually climbs walls, and doesn't miss a spot since I've added another hose length (9m x 5m pool, approx. 46Kl). Takes about 3 hours to clean 96% of the pool floor but since I run my pump for 6 hours, it's not a major issue.

My only regret was failing to buy a second one when the price fell to around $300 so I could have aa spare when this cleaner wears out!! Well, more like kicking myself really hard!!!!

Seems to be a clone or a re-badge of the Zodiac MX6, but since I've not bought a MX6, I can't be 100% certain.

The flow rate regulator is absolute cramp, as it doesn't cater for a filter clogging up, I used to change the rate from medium to low in accordance to the manual. But after getting fed up with doing that, I found leaving it on thee low flow setting still works just as efficiently, so (to me) that minor issue is solved.

Baracuda, well done in designing and selling this product, you've got a new customer!!

Highly recommended. As long as you don't expect it to clean like the $1000 variety, don't mind sweeping the pool steps and don't mind buying another length or two of hose so it can clean the whole pool, get one!.

Loving it!
