passed on my details to Waterco ( who apparently service the product ) who only want to come out and charge a fee for labour! Pretty low considering it cost over $700. You would think it would have a better warranty than that. Like I said earlier, buy a cheap brand and throw it out after a couple of years. You will do the same with this over priced piece of trash.

Ordered bearings for the pool cleaner no joke we waited 2 months no bearings no email nothing. We wrote them an email 3-4 weeks ago and we've just recieved it now in the mail. 3 months for bearing ridiculously poor effort from this company

Unfortunately, I have been severely disappointed, and the VTX-7 gets 2 stars from me instead. I've since returned it and replaced it with a Zodiac AX-20, which seems to be working very well.

Here's how I arrived at my 2 stars:

I've deducted one star for how difficult and finicky the setup was. I spent days and $$$ fiddling around with hose lengths, placement of pool weights, adjusting the steering mechanism, and upgrading my skimmer smart value. I was never able to get the setup right. It really shouldn't be this hard to get a pool cleaner working properly.

One more star lost because of really poor support from Kreepy Australia (based in Perth), and the retailer I bought it from (Melbourne). I managed to get some initial helpful advice from Kreepy on setting up my skimmer. But once it was clear that the VTX-7 wasn't cleaning my pool properly, despite all the setup changes, they pretty much shrugged their shoulders and basically said: "The Kreepy is very simply constructed. If it's not working properly, then it must be something else - certainly not the machine itself." aka ("Not our problem"). The retailer was even worse, and I had to send them repeated emails and phone calls to get even a basic (and unhelpful) response. Maybe it's my fault for buying online and not having the retailer available to come in and check on the pool? (Ha!) But I did eventually fork out for a local pool technician to take a look at my setup and he couldn't find anything wrong.

And one more star lost (probably should be two!) because the VTX7 fundamentally didn't do the basics: it simply didn't clean the pool properly. I have a pretty standard pebblecrete rectangular pool There was always one section of the pool floor that the Kreepy didn't clean, no matter how I adjusted the setup. Leaves and other debris would often still be lying on the pool floor in other areas after a cleaning cycle. The Kreepy frequently got stuck on the stairs, and I could never get it to climb the walls at all.

In comparison to the AX-20, which was easy to set up, cleans the entire pool - including the walls - and never seems to get stuck, I don't know why anyone would buy this cleaner.

We have come back to a Kreepy – We have tried a few different cleaners including robots and other vacuum types but have come back to the original one we had a Kreepy Krauly, we get a lot of Gum and other types of leaves and the VTX7 does a great job. Show details ·  1

reason it should be happening. Once the warranty is finished it will be going in the bin if it continues to crack hoses.

Not a good experience with Vtx 7 – Worst cleaner ever… have tried every option recommended and it still only goes to one area and gets stuck. Our pool is kidney shaped with no hard corners. Pool shop isn’t interested in helping us either. For $750 + another $38 for a step deflector I’m ready to chuck it out!

Waste of money – Really slow getting around the pool, always getting stuck, doesn’t climb the walls either. Added hose thrusters x2 still gets stuck all around our fibreglass pool.Waste of money ! Show details

as advertised. It’s super expensive and for the price it should handle moving around a pool ok including when the cover is on like the super cheap Bunnings ones. So underwhelmed. I’d never buy this brand again and I certainly don’t recommend to anyone.

Hopeless – This is the worst pool cleaner imaginable. I've had 3 other pool cleaners ( 2 crawlers and a robot), all had some small faults, but generally worked their way around my pool and cleaned up everything (have a fair bit of leaf litter). stuck in odd places, jams up with and without leaves in the throat and does not get around the whole pool. I've left the hoses in the sun to loosen up the kinks, changed the weights around, put more hose, then less, then more again. All to no avail. I don't usually like to bag products, but this is just so poor its unbelievable. Don't waste your time or money. $800 bucks down the drain.

Impressed with how it works – It powers through leaves, dirt, small twigs & pollen. We've tried plenty of cheaper crawlers that a re run ish after 1 year & get stuck in the corner of the pool.

have meant we would have been putting a robot in and out all the time. Originally we wanted the RX Tank but as our pool has curved bottoms and corners and is fully tiled, while it was great on the floors the tank couldn't get up the walls. So we bought the VTX-7 since it is ideally designed for our pool type. It climbs the walls high with ease - we didn't even need to upgrade to a cork sole like we thought we might when buying. It does a thorough job and the water looks so clean and clear as it's so well circulated. Our son swims in the pool with the cleaner on and he's not bothered by it at all. The hoses even blend in well with the colour of our pool! We don't need to take it out, we just leave it in all the time. We would only ever remove it if we had a bunch of people coming for a pool party or something. Also love that this is Australian made so well worth the extra cost over other cheap and nasty cleaners!

Really reliable Kreepy Krauly VTX7 – We use a Kreepy Krauly. It does a great job cleaning out the pine needles, lili pilli berries and gum leaves from our neighbour's trees. This is our second Kreepy Krauly (after 30 years) and the new VTX7 seems to pick up larger leaves than our original. It works well, saves a lot of time and was a good buy. Show details
