Never paid for auction of large Persian rugs – We had 2 large expensive Persian rugs in our family valued around $8,000 each that they sold for a mere total of $600-$700 in 2015. We requested payment and they gave us the receipt but the money was never transferred to the family account. This is unethical behaviour by the auction house.

Beware your bid may not include the unseen damage hidden by the poor photo – Time and time again, I’ve been duped by A bargain hunt and it’s unseen or unrecorded damage. You bid on an item like any electronic or online auction. Just beware the ways they have presented their auction photos. I’ve bought chestnut coffee table that looked round in the picture but turned out to be oval, never disclosed was the angle that may show deceiving shape. Then to find double scratches through the middle of the piece that make it awe full. Signed sports memorabilia that’s been destroyed in time, unspoken of in the add but what you see is great. And they cover themselves so you have to pay too. Crooks throwing there fees and outrageous postage on the back of garage sale items. Be careful.
