My personal Experience – Super cheap, great picture, not smart but I just mention super cheap, lets be honest cheap smart you wish you had a set top box that actually worked decent over the tv.. speakers suck but again super cheap, but a cheap or my choice decent sound bar/5.1 that you can use with future purchases as well.. As some one star reviewer said it went bang after 3 years well hell that's good value! Show details
Perfect – dont know why everyone is complaining....beautiful crisp picture....even better with Nvidea Shield TV Pro connected due to massive upscale of picture.....best buy and value for money...big screen is perfect too Show details
You get what you pay for ! – Easy to connect but sound was terrible , needed to add a high quality sound bar , more money ! Then Inverter gave up 25 months after purchase and hard to source part if not impossible as out of warranty . Show details

Taking the gamble – TLDR: Good price and warranty; solid construction and immense size; poor image quality with limited 30Hz output at UHD and obvious ghosting on fast moving images. Introduction: The creatively named 'ATV58UHD-0718' from Aldi electronics brand Bauhn is a 58", Ultra HD (3840x2160) LED TV that at time of writing is priced at $555 Australian… Read more
Dollars through Aldi's 'Special Buys' promotion. The price point was hard to beat, and the allure of a 60-day satisfaction return warranty allowed for peace of mind, so considering I've been looking for a new TV I decided it was worth the risk on purchasing from a brand that I had previously no experience with.
Construction and connectivity:
Construction is sound, with steel used for components that benefit from its increased rigidity, such as the feet that hold it up, and glossy black plastics for the less structural bits. The back panel includes ports for digital audio (optical), left and right stereo audio, composite video, component video, line out, two USB 2.0, and four HDMI 2.0 (one with ARC).
Output and display:
This leads me to the display itself: the user manual states that all HDMI 2.0 ports support 8-bit 4k@60Hz output, however despite my efforts with my frankly overpowered gaming PC, the TV itself refused to output anything higher than UHD 30Hz, making any and all movement of my computer mouse a slow and frustrating chore. As of time of writing I am yet to contact support to learn if there is something I should be doing to fix this issue for myself, however to this point I have attempted with multiple HDMI cables and in all available HDMI 2.0 ports with no success. The panel itself is bright and displays colours with respectable accuracy, including deeper blacks than I was expecting for such a cheap set, however backlight uniformity is an issue with washed-out bright sections appearing in the corners of the display during dark scenes, and a single bright 'spot' in the middle-right side of the panel that may just be a manufacturing defect. Lastly, during my first few hours with the unit I began to notice the the images displayed on screen became noticeably blurring during fast motion at all resolutions and refresh rates (especially in games). I loaded up Netflix and began to watch an episode of Rick and Morty, a cartoon with defined black lines and sharp contrast, and discovered that the panel displayed obvious pixel ghosting, meaning that the pixels themselves do not respond fast enough to the input from the HDMI, leaving faint but visible remnants of previous frames over the top of the current image. Although pixel ghosting is less noticeable in more natural images with less defined contrast, the slow-shifting pixels do lead to a blurrier and less crystal clear picture than you would expect from an Ultra HD display, as colours from previous frames blur over and smudge the details on the current.
Verdict: Purchase if you can live with the following...
Pros:
-Well built
-58" is a lot of TV
-Surprising contrast ratio and colour accuracy
-Low input lag for games
-$555, if you can get one
-60-day satisfaction return warranty and 1-year manufacturer warranty
Cons:
-Backlight bleed in dark scenes
-No UHD@60Hz output
-Image ghosting
Not Too Bad for $500 – We bought this on the off chance when we saw it advertised in Aldi. It was $500 for 55" which seemed a very good price (in 2017). It is our second tv for the rumpus room so that made us less fussy and more price conscious. Turned out it has been an excellent purchase. They picture quality is a little bit wishy washy but still perfectly clear and… Read more
sharp and fine for watching a bit of tv - maybe you might be disappointed if you were watching a lot of tv and movies as you may feel you lose a bit of colour strength. Also I noticed it is a bit slow when changing channels but no problems with channel changing generally. Sound is a little tinny. Has a headphone port which I think would be useful altho I haven't used it. The manual is pretty thorough which I think is helpful as I am not that technically minded but like to get the most out of tech products and this manual does help with this. It says in the manual that you can record stuff onto a usb - never tried this but sounds handy. We also bought the tv arm that holds it on the wall and it looks good like this as it is quite a slim line tv and not too dominating. I would say I am perfectly happy with it and so far so good.
Good Quality Budget Priced 4K Ultra HD TV – Very happy with the quality of this TV, a 4K Ultra HD for $599 is incredible value for the money, at first when I turned this TV on I thought the picture quality was not quite as good as my old TV, but then I made some fine tuning for contrast and brightness and the picture sharpness was considerably improved to my satisfaction, I realise that… Read more
different people may prefer other fine tunings to suit their own taste, the sound quality is satisfactory but playing DVD's or Blu-Ray through a player with added speakers is a great improvement with sound quality and extra volume if needed.
The Google Chromecast Ultra that came with the unit I have not used very much because the sound quality through YouTube is disappointing, but when I figure out how to improve the sound by playing through other speakers I will be using it more.
I read the review by Kazz and the features mentioned were a surprise to me, I must learn how to use these features: the show "reminder' function and the USB recording, thanks for mentioning these features Kazz, you are obviously more tech savvy than I am!

Perfect TV. Crystal clear image. Sensible remote and under $2,000! Sound is good too – I love this TV. Brilliant quality. Sensible remote. Great service. Remote wasn’t in the Box. Tempo sent me one overnight no questions asked! What more do you want for $1,899 Show details
Overall a Great Tv – I brought this tv last year and wow what can i say. The thing that attracted me was the size and the price. The picture quality is awesome. Although the sound on the unit is not the best overall a good tv. Advive is purchase a Bauhn soundbar to go with it. Show details
Not the best not the worst – Great quality and a fanstaic price bracket build is a little cheap but forgiveable the screen is Nice and crisp and light weight however the speakers are very tiny and cheap either way it’s not a problem I have it connected to a sorround sound system and still happy for it. Would buy again Show details
Negative reviews
You get what you pay for – Skin tones are often all wrong ranging from purple to bright red and differs each time you watch something different. When the background is supposed to be black the picture is shadowy and looks pixelated. Speakers give tinny sound. There is recently a cockroach wandering around inside my screen I can see while watching, it is not bug proof. Show details
BANG after 3 years then I smelt smoke, Dont Buy! – I was never that happy with all the smart technology maybe they have improved that now in the later models. There was plenty of ports which was a bonus. Remote had far too many buttons. Show details
Lasted until the warranty expired, but no longer than that – Typical of a cheap TV this is Slow to start up and boasts terrible sound; but otherwise it's a perfectly fine 55" TV the originally cost $450.00. The only problem is that it seems to be designed to last about 13 months - thus absolving the manufacturer of their warranty period. Ours lasted exactly 14 months; and thus was outside the warranty period and cost prohibitive to repair. Show details

Rip Off – TV worked perfectly until one day we turned on the TV and the screen was black. The audio of the TV works. The TV is less than 24 months old. Not happy! Show details

Buy another brand – We purchased 2 65" Tv's. Both went off with a bang, literally. One was working fine then made a bang like a gunshot and went off, never to work again. The second one went off like a gunshot the picture went of and shortly another ban and the sound was gone as well. Show details
Terrible! And remote worked for 1 weeks, TV does not work without it – I had the remote fail within 1 weeks. I later contacted Bahn in which they asked for model. So turns out there is no sticker on tv. Bahn told me they can’t help without it. Even though they knew all the details if the tv. So I have a 55” black picture frame on the wall. I did initially state 60”. Not that made a difference to the fact that without the model they can’t help. THEN DON’T SEND ONE WITHOUT A LABEL! Show details
1 and half years and now doesn’t work! – Sux. It was great until 4 months after the 1 year warranty ran out. The screen no longer lights up and will cost more to fix it than replace it. Show details
In Review – Customer service currently being assessed, will update the review shortly after an outcome with the distributor related to a problem with this tv. At the moment it looks as if they are doing the right thing. Show details
Poor Remote control – Purchased Aldi 58: TV in May 2017. The remote control functions stopped working while in warranty [about 9 months]. Aldi replaced the remote control unit under warranty. The 2nd remote control unit only lasted about 9 months as did the first one. Now they want me to pay $30 for a new one which from past experience will only last about 9 months. … Read more
After lengthy research there is no universal remote compatible to the Braun TV. The TV can only be used with the remote control.
A little dissapointment – Picture quality was ok until bringing another brand tv next to it. Still not bad but not good picture quality as some people explaining as they excited (??) Need an external sound system. Many ports; but for what. It must have some wireless connection option; even no Bluetooth it has. When I bought it, I did not even think to check that kind of… Read more
specifications. What an odd and old technology.
The most important thing is the satisfaction guarantee you get from Aldi; the tv returned back and accepted by Aldi.
If you're thinking of buying one , just do it !!!!!!!! – Absolutely fantastic, i have it running through my computer for Netflix and Foxtel, achieves 1080P at 60 FPS , run through display port. So perfect for NRL or motorsports. I run it through a sound system, so I cant comment on the onboard sound . For the price it is the bargain of the century. Show details
RAZZLER DAZZLER MOTHERS DAY GIFT..BUY IT – Beautiful picture. .foxtel and netflix crystal clear. Chromecast reconized straight away. Recorded free to air on usb overnight. Simple set up and navigation. Sound bar or home theater a must then turn tv speakers down to zero or you may get echo. Overall awesome for the price.Well done aldi. Cant fault it. Show details
Took it straight back to Aldi on the same day! Terribly bad quality – Extremely poor sound quality. Tinny, muffled and quiet. Must have incredibly small, cheap speakers. Sound delay of 4 seconds made it unwatchable. Pixelated, blurred, poor quality definition picture, and colour was terrible. Tried to tweak settings but didn’t help. So disappointed. Rang Aldi customer service and they said I could return it which I… Read more
did, the same day I bought it.
If I could give zero stars, I would.
Put your money towards a decent tv, buying this one will give you an ulcer over your lost money.

Watch this tv – Fantastic picture quality and lovely sound from the built in speakers, Great for view your favourite tv show on or movie, perfect for blockbuster movies. Get your friends around and spend the night watching a game or fav movie, this is the right TV set for any every ones home of work place. Show details
Beautiful picture – This tv is huge looks great on the wall, picture is extremely clear and great to watch a range of media on including sports. Played 4K DVDs and they look stunning. The 1 star taken away is only because the sound isn't great and is quite tinny, not an issue though because we connected the tv to a surround sound system. Overall, fantastic tv for the price. Good quality – Purchased this TV on the cheap as a replacement for an older Plasma. Have not experienced any real issues with the TV in a few months of use. Audio quality probably isn't the best, but this can easily be resolved with a sounder purchase. TV image is crisp, refresh rate is OK. HD looks good most of the time. Cant beat the price, and for that reason, this model is good value. Show details
very cheap tv very gd quality – omg i cant say anything bad to this beautiful thin tv and the picture of it is so gd very cheap tv once i found it in aldi i was so confused if i should buy it or not bcz its 65” and usually this sizes is so expensive then i decided to buy it and i didn’t regret its a very gd tv i recommend this tv to everyone Show details
Picture is Ok – The picture's ok but after a few months i noticed in certain scenes i can see a faint line along the lower panel. It's not enough to bother me 99% of the time. The worst thing about this TV is the remote. it's not responsive or intuitive. The menus are poor and the buttons are all flush with no ridges so it's hard to feel your way around. The… Read more
timer software is glitchy too.
For the money, coupled with a streamer like a Chromecast which effectively gives you a smart Tv, i guess it's good value with limits but probably as a 2nd Tv not your main one.
Love it – I was a bit skeptical about buying this, being from Aldi and the price seemed a bit cheap. But, i bought it anyway thinking that if it was that great i could always just use it for the grand kids games etc... but....its great! great picture, no problems at all and i'm very happy with it. my sports freak husband loves it too. So much better than the smaller tv we had. just goes to show, the price does not always reflect the quality. thank you Show details
Good value but with some flaws – Bought this TV from Aldi as it was on special. Setup was easy - however the picture quality is average and sometimes there is a lag when turning on the TV. Satisfied with the number of HDMI and USB ports. It can play most of the video and music files from the USB which is great. Overall, it is great value considering the size of the screen. Show details
Good price, decent monitor, no HDR is a killer though – I have this TV hooked up to a gaming rig, ps4 pro and an NVIDIA shield TV. It really is just a monitor for me and i dont use any of the tuning features. I'll include my perspective for basic entertainment (tv and movies) and gaming. In regards to gaming I have been quite satisfied. Input lag is acceptable for casual couch gaming, however any… Read more
competitive gaming such as csgo or rainbow six you will want another display with better response time. Handshaking between my 1080ti and the panel occasionally glitches and will lock refresh rate to 30hz. Make sure you have an proper HDMI cable that is up to spec for 4k60. All in all, this should not be your primary display for serious gaming however it makes for a good display if you want to sit back and play slower RPGs such as the Witcher or indie games such as FTL where response time doesn't make or break your experience.
From an entertainment perspective, things fall a bit flat. I stream high bitrate 1080p and 2160p rips from my plex server but have never tried a native 4k bluray. Nevertheless the display never does the original source file justice. My laptop with a calibrated 4k 10- bit panel has so much better color reprentation and depth (which is to be expected), accurate saturation and image quality. You will need a second device to add smart features as this has no inbuilt smart features. Sound quality is terrible with background static.
Great TV, Wonderful customer service – We purchased this tv from Aldi in September 2017, We’re extremely happy with the overall product. For the price ($799) it’s great value. Putting the product aside, I’d like to praise the customer service team (Tempo). I called them asking where I could order a replacement remote control because our naughty puppy chewed it to bits. pleasant and so helpful even after I was truthful about how it was broken they replaced it free of charge because it’s still under warranty, she said to allow 7-10 days for it to arrive however within 2 business days it was in my letterbox. Thanks Tempo for such great customer service, these days service like that is hard to find.
Great price – This tv is one of the cheapest 65 inch 4K tv i’ve Found out there. It offers great viewing clarity from the 4(1080*1920) display. I use it as a monitor for gaming and it offers fluid performance and high refresh rate. This is one of the best Aldi TVs i’ve Used Show details
Rubbish..UHD? are you kidding? – Have purchased this monster 75' for lounge room. I connected a Blu Ray player to it, and it looks worse then a VHS tape from 1986. I'm not hamming this up for the review. Picture is a complete joke. How could they possibly tell you that the unit is UHD. Show details
Disappointing! – Pros: TV is large, Seems sturdy on its feet, Ample sockets. The price is reasonable for the size, provided it doesnt come with the cons. Cons: Remote sensor is bottom right hand corner and is an effort to send the signal and have it respond. Sound is tinny and very low when on the same volume as our previous tv, when turned up, it becomes muffled… Read more
and hard to distinguish if they are even speaking english. Picture is clear if screen is still, but the moment you have someone/something move, they become fuzzy/blurred. I am crossing my fingers that this is the worst.
Great for the price, not the best picture – It takes quite a lot of messing with colour balance to get the best picture out of this. Even then it's not amazing when viewed from anywhere off to the side. Not a big issue if you're sitting in front but worth mentioning it. The inbuilt speakers are horrible! Thankfully it does have ARC so connecting to a soundbar is painless and HIGHLY… Read more

There is enough ports for my usage, I dont think there's anything to complain about there. The ARC port is at the very back but that's fine.
No issues with the OSD or inbuilt features. Nothing amazing but also no missing features or strange behavior.
Overall it's good value for the price, not amazing but you get what you pay for.
