ALDI Bauhn 50" 4K Ultra HD TV died after only 4 years of light use!!! :( – Our TV worked fine until today when the screen went black and then there's now a little ball of colour on the bottom right corner and wavey lines across the top and down the middle of the screen. I'm Not Satisfied with this TV only lasting 4 years!!! :( Our old Samsung HD 42" Plasma TV worked great for 12 years and still was fine when we replaced it with this ALDI Bauhn 50" 4K Ultra HD TV!!! the picture failed. Flickering can it be repaired or be replaced Not worth buying a tv from aldi – Very disappointed with aldi selling faulty products don't buy any tv from aldi
Rubbish – Remote not working- constantly freezing, have to turn tv off at the wall for remote to work. Definitely candidate for the rubbish soon i reckon if this keeps happening.. over it Show details
I can’t fault it – I’ve had no problems at all with this TV and it looks as good as the day I bought it. Now using it with Chrome Cast and it’s never failed me. Show details
Biggest wast of $600 – Bauhn 55in Ultra HD Smart Tv with HDR ! Bloody piece of rubbish ! If you push the buttons on the remote quickly to get where you wish to go it gets confused and locks up ! It switches itself off randomly , it’s program menu is hopeless , and now it has no picture! In actual fact it’s just on two years old and heading for the rubbish tip ! This… Read more
unit has had probably the equivalent of 6 months use as it is in a holiday house .it’s not fit for the purpose it for which it was purchased .
Lasted only 18 months – Nice big TV, with fair quality picture. Went pop after warranty had expired. Capacitor on main board has blown, taking a few chips out at the same. Chucking it away. Show details
Fantastic Tv – Fantastic tv for the price..have had no issues since we bought it. Picture quality not 100% but otherwise very good for the value of the set. We use all the apps that come with tv, jusy a pity we can't download any more. Show details
Don't buy, spend a bit more money – Tv randomly stops working and shuts off. The apps (Netflix and YouTube) don't work very well - forever buffering, or ultimately crashing the tv. HDMI CEC doesn't work at all. Picture is ok. Support from Bauhn was very limited. If I didn't lose the receipt, I would have returned it straight away. Show details
Amazing quality picture but poor sound – Brother in law paid thousands for his UHD 4K TV. He came and looked at the Bauhn and got really cheesed of because the quality of the display was as good, if not better. The sound, however was disappointing, like slightly better than the old mobile tinny sound. I was only interested with the optical out to connect to my Yamaha 7:1 system. The… Read more
results was amazing. I'd also connected Google Chrome on one of the HDMI port and uses it on all programs, from YouTube to Netflix to Stan. All produces crystal clear picture. So I give this TV 4 out of 5 stars. Oh forgot to mention, the remote can also start and stop all programs (DVD, Google Chrome, and USB) running. It also detects HDMI firing up ie whilst watching tv and you decide to watch YouTube, it just switches automatically. Plenty of little delightful tricks on the remote. But one thing I missed is the auto timed start of the TV. However, is not a big issue since you can stream what you missed these days and can stream them later on.
Cheaper but quality no different than my other Samsung – Baught black Friday deal only AUD$444. Everyone in my family happy with this TV, clear color picture, sound quality very good then also to transform it as a home theater connected with a sound bar by optical option. It's working great. Remote is very good in every aspect. TV connects easily with my Android mobile or other apple device to use Google casting advantage or YouTube. Overall it's an excellent product. Show details
Complicated set up procedure, recorded files are difficult to find, recorded TV can't be played elsewhere – Not sure if this is what it means by Smart TV. We bought this TV set on the basis that it can record free to air TV so that we can play on another device for the kids. It turns out to be disappointed. (1) The procedure to setup recording is VERY complicated. The buttons and on screen sequences are confusing. It took us several days of… Read more
experiments to master how to setup scheduled recording. (2) The recorded files are muddled with a lot of unnecessary folders which look similar to the playable files. When we accidentally clicked into those unnecessary folders, they are empty but if we pressed "return", it went right back to "c" - the very entry to USB folder. Very annoying sequence. (3) The recorded files are in .ts format. That is fair enough but it can't be played on other devices such as laptop or Android. The other devices reported that the files are corrupted. These .ts files are intentionally corrupted by this TV. It totally defeats our intention. If we have known these problems, we wouldn't buy this TV. The HDR seems to be less clear than the other brands seen in Harvey Norman or other stores.
Do not buy this brand of TV - High rate of failures! – The cheap ALDI 58” Bauhn Ultra HD TV ended up to be costly for me. I should have read the reviews on this site before buying. The TV was rarely used (ie. vitually in “as new” condition). Yet it was broken just after 12 months (warranty expires). Same problems just like so many reviews here: Blank screen (while the sound was still on). … Read more
Furthermore, I had the same problem with the other ALDI 32” Bauhn TV, which ceased to work while still under warranty. ALDI arranged for it to be repaired. Then it was broken again within few weeks. So ALDI arranged to give me a replacement TV.
So the advice from me is not to buy this brand of TV due to unusually high rate of failures.
Very good for the price – My partner and I were sceptical of buying a cheap Tv from Aldi. Especially because we were replacing a very good brand tv that we already had. After we purchased and setup the tv, we very surprised of how good the picture quality was on the big 75 inch screen. The only downside on the tv is the software. It seems outdated and sometimes a bit… Read more
buggy. The app store is limited to very few apps also. Apart from that, we are very happy with the purchase.

Great product at a great price – I purchased from Aldi Modbury. I got it home, plugged in, hooked up Aerial and programmed it. Perfect picture quality and very much a smart investment. Aldi keeps proving that they are not a seconds shop but the real deal
75 inch Bauhn – No issues. Working as would expect for 1000 TV. Replaced a 10yr old Samsung Plasma costing 3500. I find image clear as on Netflix on 4K. Only downside was kept turning on Yamaha amp with HDMI connection. Now on optical and all good. Show details
slow response and bad contrast – not not not recommended. I regret paying $600 for this. price is cheap but quality is also cheap. too cheap and the image quality is just bad. dont buy it. Show details
Another BRICKED TV out of the box – Same problem as Raider 70. Got the email support about midday today. Downloaded the fix but nothing happened. TV still bricked. Tempo says it could be another 2 business days for a fix

No power after software update – Purchased 75 inch tv this morning, bit of fine tuning with Foxtel, sound bar and Chromecast, all a ok, scrolling through settings and came across Internet Update Check, started it, watched for a while, turned away, turned back and nothing but black screen, did changing plug sockets, unplugged, still nothing, rang 1300 number at the back of manual, said they had seen I had done a update, will send a email with solution by Monday, fingers crossed Show details

BRICKED after software update out of the box – Straight out of the box, went to menu gave it WiFi and checked for SOFTWARE UPDATE and is now BRICKED (this means not turning on) tried power cycling from mains (turn off and unplug) and still bricked. On hold to tempo (Aldi service) and still waiting, after being hung up on the first time Briefly the TV was pretty good - but now I'm up Shipp Creek as I have to hire another vehicle, and can't get one easily so it's cost me $70. Warranty Repair – Aldi TV I purchase needed repairs. I asked Aldi agent Tempo what was the process. Told to send a photo of the faulty part. I did this only to be told by Tempo not once but repeatedly the TV was not faulty. After threating Tempo with a complaint to Consumer Affairs Victoria Tempo finally agreed the TV is broken. Tempo has now agreed to… Read more
send out a service person to fix it.
I am warning you, do not buy an Aldi TV and expect after-sale service.
Wow! Seriously impressed by this TV – This is the 58" 2019 Nov. version (Black Friday) with HDR. This is not a smart TV but if you are planning on connecting the TV to any smart box set then it does not matter. I have connected this tv to an Apple TV and the TV handles exceptionally well matching video-quality content. Colours and 4K quality is good, comparable to big brands.… Read more
Seriously, the picture quality is comparable if not better than other big brand names (e.g Hisense r7 and Samsung NU8000) - I was particularly impressed with how it handles blacks and grey colours. The TV comes with two remote controls (1 normal and 1 quick remote) but I am using a Logitech universal remote instead which is fully compatible with this TV. Sound quality is not great, as expected, but if you use a soundbar or sound system then it does not matter. The look of this TV is also good, not amazing, but just good. The legs are thin and made out of metal which is a nice touch but the plastic frame of the TV is glossy, in my opinion, looks a bit cheap. All things considered, this TV is excellent value, you are getting a 58 inch TV with 4K HDR capabilities and great picture quality for $444.
Edit: after a couple of days using this TV I am still very impressed. One thing that surprised me is that it seems to be streaming and playing video content in Dolby Vision on Netflix and Itunes on the Apple TV. My previous TV did not have Dolby Vision capabilities so the 4K content always showed as playing in 4K. However, with this TV it shows, on both Netflix and iTunes, that it is playing content in 4K Dolby Vision...wow! I also noticed that in some movies with dark colour scenes (e.g. the Martian) the colours and blacks look amazing. However, sometimes the blacks look a bit too overpowering. This can be mitigated by personalising the picture contrast, saturation and brightness is the menu.

Aldi Tv – I love it, very large, feel like a home cinema. The price is great and the quality is top. It comes with warranty and i trust Aldi and its products. Show details
Great value for money, cant complain – Bought two for relatives, upgrading from 32 inch sets from 2009 which couldnt get all the channels. We and they are in the Apple ecosystem, so 4K Apple TV boxes were used for the smart TV functions. Way better than having an average smart TV, get any and add an Apple TV. Anyway, picture is bright, on black backgrounds corners are slightly bright… Read more
but really Im being picky. Quite surprised how good it is. Speakers are average, but to qualify that Ive never heard any flat panel TV with good speakers , I care about my audio and alway use large hifi speakers and amp etc. for one elderly relative the bundled bonus simple remote is great, and bizarrely, it controlls the Apple TV back through the HDMI cable - you can navigate the Apple TV box with either Aldi remote. Id buy one. note, 5 stars is taking into account the price. I am not comparing it to sets costing triple what this did. But Id be happy to own this myself.
Hit or miss – Picture suffers from dark corners, noticeable on full screen picture bright scenes.OK as monitor and recommend Chromecast or computer connection for smarts.basic control settings and picture adjustments, best in dark room settings. Show details
Same thing, different Year – how do you still sell the same type of TV, same thing different year. ChromeCast included? dont want to use a HDMI port! even kogan have TVs with netflix and 4K apps. horrible TV. ALDI you are 4 years behind the game. Show details
Wowsers, good and bad – This tv has had its ups and downs, when I bought this tv, it was good and solid at offering a quality picture, but as the year passed, I noticed the screen befgining to deteriorate in quality, I would not recommend this to many people who want long lasting tv’s Show details
Great TV – This amazing TV has the best quality and colour. It is the perfect TV for gaming as the inches and and the quality is great. You can use this TV to watch Youtube, and stream moves, and additionally, there are HDMI ports. Show details
How Can Aldi Do It For The Money? – Purchased on a whim while shopping for groceries. Biggest challenge was fitting huge carton in Mazda 3 hatch, but we got there! Astonishing value for 65" HDR UHD/4K. Simple, clear, logical, stable Linux-based operating system via well-endowed remote control (smaller, simpler, handy Roku-style remote also included). Infinitely preferable to buggy,… Read more
cumbersome Android TV crap debilitating so many high-profile brands. Fine-tuning settings will optimise clarity, colour balance and audio. We like "soccer" and "game" settings with dynamic contrast switched *OFF*. So far not one glitch. USB drive recognised immediately, works perfectly. Wireless connected easily. Station tuning AOK. EPG needs tad more streamlining - still good though. A concern could be this TV's longevity/reliability. Aldi only offers 12 months warranty. Unusually this set features a rather short captive mains power cable. If you missed out this time, I'm certain Aldi will flog an even higher spec set in the near future. How can a supermarket chain engineer so well and supply for such an affordable price?
Amaxed at the value! – I searched forums and review sites everywhere and found mainly very positive reviews. I am amazed at the value this set offers and equally surprised to see sets still available a week after the special started. The picture is great and we are very happy with the simple controls. Still learning all uses but no problems. Show details
Easy setup, disgusting quality – Very easy to setup but the picture quality in every channel across DTV, Foxtel, and my Xbox have gross colour and definitely not in HD or 4K like it says. I have looked through the picture setup on both the TV and the various devices but there’s no way to make it better. The problem seems to be that it’s outputting in 1080i 50hz or lower, with no way to make it higher or better. Show details
Terrible (and cheap) – I bought this TV for a cheap price, which I regret. About a month after buying this TV, I noticed a blue line across the middle of the screen. I immediately returned the TV and got a refund. I recommend saving your money for a much higher quality television like Samsung or LG. Show details
