Lasted until the warranty expired, but no longer than that – Typical of a cheap TV this is Slow to start up and boasts terrible sound; but otherwise it's a perfectly fine 55" TV the originally cost $450.00. The only problem is that it seems to be designed to last about 13 months - thus absolving the manufacturer of their warranty period. Ours lasted exactly 14 months; and thus was outside the warranty period and cost prohibitive to repair. Show details

Rip Off – TV worked perfectly until one day we turned on the TV and the screen was black. The audio of the TV works. The TV is less than 24 months old. Not happy! Show details

Terrible! And remote worked for 1 weeks, TV does not work without it – I had the remote fail within 1 weeks. I later contacted Bahn in which they asked for model. So turns out there is no sticker on tv. Bahn told me they can’t help without it. Even though they knew all the details if the tv. So I have a 55” black picture frame on the wall. I did initially state 60”. Not that made a difference to the fact that without the model they can’t help. THEN DON’T SEND ONE WITHOUT A LABEL! Show details

Overall a Great Tv – I brought this tv last year and wow what can i say. The thing that attracted me was the size and the price. The picture quality is awesome. Although the sound on the unit is not the best overall a good tv. Advive is purchase a Bauhn soundbar to go with it.  Show details

Not the best not the worst – Great quality and a fanstaic price bracket build is a little cheap but forgiveable the screen is Nice and crisp and light weight however the speakers are very tiny and cheap either way it’s not a problem I have it connected to a sorround sound system and still happy for it. Would buy again  Show details

Not Too Bad for $500 – We bought this on the off chance when we saw it advertised in Aldi. It was $500 for 55" which seemed a very good price (in 2017). It is our second tv for the rumpus room so that made us less fussy and more price conscious. Turned out it has been an excellent purchase. They picture quality is a little bit wishy washy but still perfectly clear and… Read more

sharp and fine for watching a bit of tv - maybe you might be disappointed if you were watching a lot of tv and movies as you may feel you lose a bit of colour strength. Also I noticed it is a bit slow when changing channels but no problems with channel changing generally. Sound is a little tinny. Has a headphone port which I think would be useful altho I haven't used it. The manual is pretty thorough which I think is helpful as I am not that technically minded but like to get the most out of tech products and this manual does help with this. It says in the manual that you can record stuff onto a usb - never tried this but sounds handy. We also bought the tv arm that holds it on the wall and it looks good like this as it is quite a slim line tv and not too dominating. I would say I am perfectly happy with it and so far so good.

Picture is Ok – The picture's ok but after a few months i noticed in certain scenes i can see a faint line along the lower panel. It's not enough to bother me 99% of the time. The worst thing about this TV is the remote. it's not responsive or intuitive. The menus are poor and the buttons are all flush with no ridges so it's hard to feel your way around. The… Read more

timer software is glitchy too.

For the money, coupled with a streamer like a Chromecast which effectively gives you a smart Tv, i guess it's good value with limits but probably as a 2nd Tv not your main one.

Good picture bad sound – Bauhn ATV55UHDC from Aldi is one of the cheapest TVs available in the market for 55". Given its price range, the quality of video output is relatively good. However, the audio quality is mediocre at best.

Good video, bad sound – LCD panel is good. but speaker is bad, sound is tinny. have to buy a sound bar to get loud sound. should be improving the speaker. overal average, but price is unbeatable.

PERFECT CLARITY – Purchased 55" 4K Ultra High Definition LED LCD TV from Aldi and it also came with a bonus Google Chromecast Ultra which was so easy to connect up, the quality of the picture colour and sound is awesome. It has 4 HDMI ports, can not believe how light it is to pick up in comparison to the older TV we had. Aldi always has the best quality products!

Good Quality Budget Priced 4K Ultra HD TV – Very happy with the quality of this TV, a 4K Ultra HD for $599 is incredible value for the money, at first when I turned this TV on I thought the picture quality was not quite as good as my old TV, but then I made some fine tuning for contrast and brightness and the picture sharpness was considerably improved to my satisfaction, I realise that… Read more

different people may prefer other fine tunings to suit their own taste, the sound quality is satisfactory but playing DVD's or Blu-Ray through a player with added speakers is a great improvement with sound quality and extra volume if needed.

The Google Chromecast Ultra that came with the unit I have not used very much because the sound quality through YouTube is disappointing, but when I figure out how to improve the sound by playing through other speakers I will be using it more.

I read the review by Kazz and the features mentioned were a surprise to me, I must learn how to use these features: the show "reminder' function and the USB recording, thanks for mentioning these features Kazz, you are obviously more tech savvy than I am!

Great features – 55" 4K UHD under $600 was a great buy. Love the show 'reminder' function, it automatically changes the channel, no chance of missing it. USB recording is A+, records when TV is off, just set by pressing a coloured button, so easy. Beautiful picture. Very happy would definitely buy an Aldi tv again.

Ok for the price but otherwise disappointing – Paid $599 which is a great price for a 4k 55 inch ultra HD tv. Unfortunately the picture is really pixelated and there is so much lag that it is really unenjoyable to watch. You get what you pay for...

Save yourself time; just get something else, in the first place – After installing the TV, we noticed 3 problems: 1. A single green pixel, in the middle of the screen, stuck on 2. Terrible light bleeding in all four corners 3. A circle, about 10mm across, of stuck blue pixels (I've never seen this type of fault on a panel before) The support number said that panels can't be repaired, and we'd have to get a… Read more

replacement or refund, and gave me the number to call Aldi.

Aldi said our local store didn't have stock of the TV (or the soundbar, we purchased at the same time, which also failed) and directed us to the nearest stores which had stock. One was 45 minutes in one direction, and the other was 50 minutes in the other direction (one had the TV, the other had the soundbar). The round trip, to replace the TV and soundbar, would take 2.5hrs of travel time!

I'm guessing that the single stuck pixel, alone, wouldn't be covered under warranty (like other reviews for similar Bauhn TVs said), and the light-bleed may be in the same category. It just shows that this is a low-quality panel, and not worth the risk to have it replaced (even if there wasn't 2.5 hours of driving involved).

Aldi may have some great deals, but you're pretty screwed on the warranty, as you'll likely just get a refund, due to lack of stock. The quality of their electrical goods seems pretty poor.

We're going to replace it with a Kogan system (new product, which wasn't listed a few days ago, when I checked before getting the Aldi TV), which is actually going to cost just over $100 cheaper, including shipping. My last TV was Kogan (purchased in 2013) and still works fine.

Dead Pixel in Brand New TV but Refunded wasting my time – Dead Pixel in Brand New TV but Refunded Full amount Video Quality was not that bad for this value though. Wasted my time and fuel to repack and go to ALDI store a Very next day. Bauhn seem to USE Google Cromcast to REPRESENT QUALITY In TVs it may be a strategy to sell TVs. Well, Think twice before you buy it I would say.  Show details
