overlapping ideas but a couple of new suggestions there. Check reviews especially Bauhn Community specifically for soundbars. Unplug TV & Soundbar and Reconnect in the right order to recheck handshake. ... After 10 hours I switched to Optical connection. First it didn't work. But then I plugged in the Soundbar, duh. And wow beautiful result. Connect the optical to the Bauhn TV just beside where the aerial cable is plugged in. REMOVE the plastic protective pin cover from both ends of the optical cable pins. Switch TV Sound Setting to Optical. I suggest if at first, HDMI doesn't work, go for Optical without testing, or get a better Soundbar .

Sound was not great, then it failed after 8 months – Sound quality was never brilliant,, had to be cranked to max volume to be usable. repaired under warranty. Bauhn is a terrible brand.

To make matters worse, I telephoned Josh on the helpdesk from the instruction booklet, and he wrongly advised that there was no point returning it to Aldi, because Aldi would not give a refund. I explained to him that under Australian consumer law, the consumer has the right to a refund from the retailer. He tried to say that because there was a contract between Aldi and Medion that this did not apply. Then he ended up backtracking saying it was only based on his experience. Consumers need to be very aware when calling Medion about their rights.

Bargain basement soundbar with good mid range performance – I bought the soundbar for the TV in our "rumpus" room. At ~$130 I didn't have Great Expectations. However, I was pleasantly surprised. to ensure the TV and soundbar are powered down when the connection is setup. On the first attempt I had the speakers powered on. That seemed to confuse the ARC, with the power on/of not syncing across the devices. On HDMI/ARC the soundbar should respond to your TV's remote for OFF/ON and volume UP/DOWN.

AUDIO PERFORMANCE The Soundbar replaced a pair of Edifier R1855DB speakers, which I wanted to use elsewhere. The Edifier speakers provide an excellent benchmark. The soundbar performs very well In our small rumpus room. The sound is well balanced, the bass has presence but is not overwhelming. There are treble and bass controls to make minor tone adjustments. However, compared to my "benchmark", the bass when cranked up turns a little muddy. Mid range its great, IMO. Highs may be a little lacking for some, but there is enough detail for me.

There are three pre-set equaliser positions; I like the Movie setting, which enhances actors voices very well. News - seems to compress audio levels. I'm not using it. Music - It's OK but I find I need to turn bass and treble up a bit.

sound was absolute rubbish! I've got it connected via HDMI ARC and it works perfectly, turns on and off when TV is turned on and off with TV remote, volume works from the TV remote. Only need the soundbar remote to adjust EQ setting when setting it up the first time. It has plenty of volume, max setting is 32, we use it around 12 most of the time. Sound quality is great as far as I can tell, it has several different EQ modes (we use Movie mode, voices are easy to hear), and the built in subwoofer has a suprising amount of bass for the size. The one and only drawback is the bright LED display right in the centre of the soundbar. A bright display would normally be a good thing, but it stays on for 5 minutes before turning off! The display also comes on every time you adjust the volume which is annoying while watching movies in the dark. I've decided I can live with this for the price (I might put some black tape over the display). I highly recommend this soundbar (if the LED display issue isn't a deal breaker). I did find that some HD TV channels had no sound initially, I had to change the TV audio setting "Digital sound out" to "PCM" instead of "Auto", which fixed it. It works fine with Netflix and Disney+. I connected my Android phone via bluetooth and spotify music sounds great, very loud at about volume 22.

bass was absurdly over-emphatic. Unlistenable. Also, cust serv said it couldn't receive digital radio, which was the third deal-breaker. Fast forward to now. This one's just a bar; no shape morphing. To be clear, product #704551 Model ASBEB-0121. The sound is OK. It'll do. Compared to the TV's native sound it's heavenly. Clear at low volumes. Unlike the TV, not distorted, blurry. By connecting it by both HDMI ARC and optical, and using the remote's Mode button to swap to Opt, I can hear digital radio from the TV. ARC is for TV. Bluetooth reach is good; connected to phone and left the room with it in my pocket and could still hear it from elsewhere in the house. It's got a proper remote with the controls needed, and a neat, clear LED display for remote selections. Strangely they label it "Enhanced Bass". I find it pleasingly crisp and have cranked up the bass to +5 for a film. Also strangely, the EQ modes appear to be mislabelled; "news" is super-rich/ bass-heavy while "movie" is thin. Oh well. I'm happy for now. Very much enjoying the huge improvement. It just better last, that's all.

Not loud enough no punch – Well built did everything it was suppose to, matched my Bauhn TV etc but just not loud enough at 40watts and yes had my bluetooth all the way up on the TV and the TV can match it's volume with no bottom end, you really need a separate sub woofer with a sound bar returned the unit. Show details

Drops out constantly – Woofer is less than 30cm from the soundbar. Drops out constantly. The remote works only in a narrow range and also is unreliable. Sound is ok when it works but it drops out so much it's useless. Show details

Better than TV speakers - Loud (Good for hearing issues) – I struggle to hear voice when watching stuff on the Samsung TV (Slightly deaf) and have had to watch a lot of stuff with subtitles. I took a huge risk and brought it back to Tasmania (No Aldi's here for refund) and am SO happy I did. One VERY happy buyer so far.

And for the person who said in their review that before their purchase they were spectacle about the purchase , maybe you read the add wrong & need to get a new set of skepticals.

EDIT: There can be an annoying audio lag (out of sync issue) if you connect the soundbar to the TV with Bluetooth, but on the newer TV's (2019 onward) you can usually adjust this away in your settings. But if you connect via HDMI ARC, HDMI eARC cable or via the supplied optical cable you don't get these out of sync issues, and you can adjust the volume and turn it on & off using the TV remote, bonus.

2.1 Bluetooth Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer – A great sound system for the price. If you interested to have the sound effect of a movie while watching one this is what this sound system does. Connected my phone to the Bluetooth and it gave excellent sound as well. Just remember it needs to be within a certain distance nor else the Bluetooth connection drops. Not Worth the Money in the Long Term – The sound was better than what was produced from the speakers on my LG TV but after 2 1/2 years the bass speaker has stopped. Had I spent $100 more I would have had a better more reliable brand. Now I am going to have to donate it to landfill Show details

ALDI Soundbar excellent performance, awesome value: Bauhn Soundmax Soundbar USMSB-1117 – This soundbar is awesome value. The music it produces is punchy, well defined, airy with great acoustics and separation. A must buy! Bought on 13JUN20 for $169 at ALDI. I use it with Airplay and HDMI ARC on my 55" QLED HDTV. Even though it is a soundbar I am mostly using it for just playing music and have re-discovered my old favourite tunes. I cannot fault it. Highly recommended. Rob.

Annoying settings/features – The auto turn off feature is simply stupid. Especially when the remote needs to be within 1 metre of the speaker to pick it up. If you have auto turn off you also need auto turn on. My family struggles with this all the time. Also the return to default settings when it does is not good. I would not recommend this sound bar. I have a bauhn tv as well they don't have anywhere to mount the speaker on the tv. Show details

Love this !!! – We brought this sound bar from Aldi a month ago and can’t be anymore pleased with it. It is perfect it fits perfect with the tv and sounds very good. We were worried buying it from Aldi as it’s not a major brand but so happy with the product and definitely recommend

inputs mode: coaxial, bluetooth, AUX, USB drive. In all mode it is still producing the knocking sound. After leaving it on for sometime, it sometimes do produce normal output sound but again after few seconds the popping noise starts.Faulty substandard product. Do not buy

Total Garbage: I took it back – I didn't have high expectations for this soundbar, but even so, the sound was dreadful. The main reason for getting a soundbar is that it will provide better sound than the TV's inbuilt speakers. In our case, every member of our family unanimously agreed that the TV's inbuilt speakers had superior sound to the soundbar. I took it back for a refund. Would not recommend. Show details
