1 Basilenko  · Waste of time – They just copy and paste replies when emailed a question. Absolute waste of time.

Have never missed a payment, have rescheduled payments and have paid an extra payment a few times. Have tried to access my account, it comes up connect bank account, have followed through with them. Honestly guys don't waste your time with this mob. No less than 5 or 6 times i've tried to activate an account but everytime i try i'm told "they can't verify my identity". This problem is clearly on their end as all my personal information given to them is true, accurate and up to date and everytime i try and resolve this matter with them they… Read more

ask me to provide different types of i.d. that i have already done several times and all i seem to ever get is generic, cliche responses without this issue ever being resolved. Wagetap, wagepay and mypaynow are much more professional and a whole lot less hassle free.

Warning Before You Pay – They Will Punish You for Questioning Them Edit: After going back and forth with this company and catching them in multiple lies, I checked the app this morning and saw that my cash-out limit was suddenly reduced to $50. This happened after I had already made a payment — and they still took more than they should have.… Read more

Clearly, this was done as punishment for questioning their shady repayment practices. I’ll be deleting my account after this. Completely unacceptable. The app is easy to use, but the repayment system is a nightmare. They offer payment options like Osko or PayID, but what they don’t tell you is that if a direct debit is scheduled, they won’t acknowledge your manual payment — even if you paid on time. Here’s what actually happened: I made my final payment via Osko at 3:30 AM on 14/08/25. Later that same day, they still processed a direct debit for the same amount. When I raised the issue, they refused to accept responsibility and claimed I tried to pay “24 hours early,” which is completely false. Then they said they’d refund the PayID payment — but how about not taking it twice in the first place? For a $100 cash-out, I ended up being charged over $150. When I asked for answers, they tried to shift blame to me, despite clear evidence from my bank. I had to argue just to get basic information. That’s not how any company should treat a customer. To make things worse, they tried to show me a screenshot of a so-called “13th payment” supposedly scheduled for the 14th — something that didn’t match anything in my records. The screenshot had no account number, reference, or any proof it belonged to me. The dates and amounts didn’t match my bank history either. It felt like they were fabricating records or showing someone else’s. Bottom line: This company manipulates repayment records, punishes customers for asking questions, and refuses to own up to mistakes. I’ll trust my bank over them any day. This is the last time I use this loan shark. Avoid

But have at it! Show details

Decreased limit for no reason? – With beforepay for 3 years, not one single repayment ever missed. They were pretty great in the beginning. Never had a decrease in our limit ever then suddenly this month, $2000 to $150 after the app requested to re-sync bank account. They claim my financial circumstances have changed when they have not. My salary has only gotten higher since… Read more

taking an account with them. Have only done everything right and now have been totally blindsided. They call it "responsible lending" when in fact its quite irresponsible to give people that false sense of security and without warning or valid reason, decrease limits by 90-95%. They will say it's because of your financial circumstances when in fact it's their business model and poor assessment. Look at all these reviews which entail the same thing - they are punishing long term customers who have only done the right thing and they refuse to address these concerns - I hope this will be the downfall of their business ultimately. I feel quite fortunate to be receiving a huge bonus in a couple of weeks that will get me off cash advances forever but people should know not to get too invested in this service because they will blindside you without warning and if it wasn't for my upcoming bonus, this would have stung real bad. Also, they count bank transfers to joint accounts/other bank accounts as "spending" when its actually just moving money. Laughable but not unexpected from a poor assessment model. Communicating with them is quick but they will never raise your limit back at their discretion. I will be cancelling my account with them shortly. I recommend mypaynow, they're pretty great.

Completely Unreliable – They will let you down just when you think they are a reliable service!! Will lend you a fortune one minute and only $100 the next time you try even though you have an excellent repayment record and nothing has changed financially!!. All the reviews are saying the same thing. Do not rely on them - they are burning the very customers who have turned them into a viable business. Show details

Great service & responsible lenders – I have found Beforepay great. They lend responsibly and within what I can afford. Not predatory with no massive interest unlike payday lenders. Fantastic service.

Fast transparent and trustworthy – Fast easy and fair. Cash out amount goes up and stays up or is reduced fairly based on your bank activity. Very fast process, fees are transparent and reasonable. Credit rating not an issue. Show details

$800 limit to $50, never missed a payment, paid early and get limited. I’m able to manually repay my loan early but I can’t afford a new one? Reporting this to the AFCA as this would absolutely put people in financial hardship thinking they can renew their loan when they haven’t done anything wrong. Hope you get investigated.

STAY CLEAR – Utter shambles, I don't even trust the legitimacy of this business type, from connecting to bank transactions to the customer service without any dedicated phone number, only by email. Even a straightforward account removal, constant request for personal info. NEVER AGAIN.

Limit dropped on Beforepay for no reason – Really poor system to use. At first when signed up you get between $400-$600 house based on your wage/spending habits. I started on $600 limit, spent $400 across 3 payments, paid before the due dates, then got an update email to say my payment habits dropped to $50. I emailed them asking why, their automatic response was that they go off my pay… Read more

impeccable responsibility. Or if your last loan limit which you paid in advance as many other times was $2000 and now oh surprise the limit is $50. ?? How do they even assess this? Dont count on availability – Not to be relied upon in times of need otherwise ok. I found it great at first, but as it monitors your bank account constantly, even if you have paid it off on time or prior to the due date it fluctuates on what is available to you. So this time it may be $400 short term, then $50 next time for short term. So if you really need $400 for a bill or emergency, you cant count on the help, as it may not be there this time. Show details

Sketchy and unreliable – As most of the other, more recent customers of Beforepay that have posted here (the last 6 to 10 months I think) my limit went from over $1100 down to $50 when my circumstances have NOT changed, despite Beforepay saying that would be the likely case for a drop in limit, then in about 5 days, shot back up to $1000. Next time, same thing but down to… Read more

$50 and remained that way for over a week, one again then going up again, this time to $1500. My payment was due yesterday and lo and behold, I don't simply have a credit limit decrease, I've no balance to withdraw and a message on the app saying 'Awwww we're sorry, we can't help you this time' WTH?! I haven't had any negative circumstance change, in fact, quite the opposite!!! I also notice they do not seem to 'check' your outgoings after a payment is repaid to them, yet seem to have a random bank balance that was from a completely different time period that is perhaps not in as good of shape that it would be around salary time....I think this must play a factor but its not accurate or current! I also believe they're monitoring your bank account at any given time as they decide this mass limit decrease when you've not actually 'applying' for credit yet already telling you 'no'. Is that ethical? My understanding is lenders can access to check when applying for credit, not simply because you 'might' want to borrow again. It's a bit shifty. They cannot know my circumstance for the following month. Never again. **side notes** any comments customers may have made on any of the Facebook Before Pay posts, have been removed. Previously there were loads of comments anytime Beforepay put a post on their pages regardless this ridiculous assessment process, yet now? Nothing. As another person posted here 'why are you looking in to people's bank accounts and tracking spend?' You did a credit check when we first applied and if a long time and loyal customer has never missed a payment, even on a larger limit, why suddenly deny or cut limits?

Bad service and unfair assessments – When I enquired about my credit limit decreasing yet again I was given the run around about how the system does this automatically this is not the first time and I think this company needs to have this rectified as the system doesn’t take into account joint bank account and when this is mentioned all you get is “We recommend that you get you… Read more

The very worst of the pay advance apps – I have been battling for 18 months for these people to fix my account up. I get paid monthly $6000 and they allow me $50 advance.
